Dang, hope they get it ready for release, fans have waited and suffered through numerous delays, they deserve a great launch.

This is a case of Amazon once again cocking up stock numbers for LE's. They did this for the Master Edition of Breath of the Wild, they did it for Binding of Isaac, and now here.

I know one thing, I'm NEVER pre-ordering another game from Amazon. I only began using it because of Persona 5, and afterwards, they can go **** themselves. Just absolutely useless SOB's. The fact that they were trying to pass the buck onto Atlus for the problems is pretty hilarious, but I guess that is what you do when you know absolutely nothing.

Amazons is probably the largest online retailer, with the amount of copies and orders they handle, things are bound to go south sometimes.
Pick the game up from a local store, Persona 5 is not really a game that is popular in the west, I'm sure you'll find LE copies.
You could try another retailer if you are un-sure about the local purchase. Amazon is a gamble my friend.

#1: this is happening at a much more frequent pace then I would like to see, and it goes without saying that Amazon themselves have started to cater towards Prime users, while the rest of the rubes who don't have it, can go **** themselves, seemingly.

#2: This is a lot more harrowing then I think you realize. If it is a case of Amazon taking on more orders then they do stock, then chances are, if they go through with what I think they are gonna do (That being said, start to whittle down people who ordered after a specific cut off date, probably within the first month or two that the TYH edition was put up) then those who ordered after said cut off date are boned. I myself know that within Canada, both Best Buy and EB Games have listed the TYH Edition as 'out of stock' and I'm not about to go onto second hand sellers on eBay and Amazon and get absolutely hosed.

#3: I already have the digital edition pre ordered because I live in a rural area, and even with priority shipping, it will take about 1-7 days for the TYH Edition I ordered to come to me. So yeah, I guess I have a back up plan, but still, I wanted this LE. I don't ever order limited editions, but for Persona 5, this is a rare exception.

I feel you, i'm, sure it'll be alright in the end. Persona 5 is still some time away, no worries!
Huge Persona fan here too, I'm hoping to get the goods too here in the UK.

I love Persona and Atlus, but I'm not buying any of the DLC. Don't support crap like that... Have some self control folks, you don't need those costumes.

I may be buying some of the DLC but that's only for the sake of battle music. I want my Mass Destruction, Time to Make History, and Reach Out To The Truth.

Weebs have little self control, you see. They pull this **** for practically all JRPG's nowadays, I'm reminded of some of the stories for Tales of Berseria.

We're car guys at heart, right?

Who would do this to an F-Pace?

I'm tempted to remake this in Forza Horizon however...

I'm starting to worry that P5 may be shorter than P4 and P3FES. Unless they do another Golden like version of P5 then my worries would be gone.

Hot off the presses!

Wake up, get up, go buy this!

Persona 5 sets the benchmark for modern Japanese RPGs: it oozes style, charisma, and polish quite unlike anything we've played. With this fifth entry, the series' trademark formula of dungeon delving and socialising has been perfected. Addictive, engaging gameplay, incredibly endearing characters, and a consistently rewarding narrative loop combine to create a spectacularly cohesive whole – whether or not you're already a fan of Persona. A masterpiece from top to bottom.

Within Persona 5 is a complex set of interconnected gameplay mechanics, and in almost every aspect Atlus has executed on its vision exceptionally, barring the pacing issues towards the end. At every turn, it presents something to marvel at, whether it's the fluid combat, vibrant world, or the many memorable characters. It's a game I could talk about for hours; I haven't mentioned the ability to connect to the Thieves Guild, which lets you see how other players spent their day or ask them for help answering questions at school. Or the thumping acid-jazz-infused soundtrack that I've not been able to get out of my head. Or even just the joy of seeing how it stylishly transitions between menus. But that encapsulates why Persona 5 is a game that shouldn't be missed. It's stuffed to bursting point with gameplay ideas and presentation flourishes--there's an overwhelming level of artistry in every part of Persona 5, making it a truly standout entry in the series. It's a refined, effortlessly stylish RPG that will be talked about for years to come.

Persona 5 is a massive, gorgeous JRPG with well over 100 hours of gameplay for completionists. With more to do than ever and the series’ strongest story to date, it stands out as an extraordinary, memorable experience and easily one of the deepest JRPGs of the last decade. Its sprawling dungeon design and stylish, fully realized world are an absolute joy to explore, and even after three playthroughs and the Platinum trophy, I find myself itching to go back to try different dialogue options with Confidants or revisit particularly fun puzzles. This is a new gold standard for Japanese RPGs and by far the best entry in the series yet.

If the opening hours of Persona 5 are like starting a massive novel, then the closing hours are like finishing one, complete with the bittersweet finality of turning the last page. But it also carries an immense sense of satisfaction. After 100 hours of playing, all of my big questions were answered. I understood the characters, I knew my way around the world, and I had fun almost every step of the journey. You become a resident of Persona 5 the more you play it, and it has the rare ability to transport in a way few games can.

It isn't, mate. Every review I have seen has put 100 hours as the benchmark minimum. You will be fine.

It’s been almost a decade since the original release of Persona 4, a game that introduced many players — including myself — to this series. With that amount of time, with the amount of energy and passion a lot of Persona 4 fans put toward that game, it would have been easy for Persona 5 to be a letdown. Instead, it successfully pushes this series to new heights of polish, allure and charm. It has a few blemishes, enough to distract a bit from the intriguing and weighty themes that the game wrestles with. But even through the rough patches, Persona 5 doesn’t give up a drop of its colorful personality.

Though Polygon has mentioned something that I think should be picked up on:

BAD ROMANCE
Persona 5 wears progressive values on its sleeves, which makes its approach to non-straight romance all the more baffling. Joker can choose to start a relationship with every single female party member and non-player confidant in the game; none of the men are romanceable. This is despite the fact that one of the male party members is heavily implied to be at least bisexual, claiming to have no interest in the female form outside of art and often interacting with Joker in a flirty manner.

The lack of same-sex relationship options in Persona 5 would be little more than a frustrating omission, but the game pushes it into much more aggravating territory in a few scenes. Specifically, there are two recurring gag characters who are clearly homosexual. They show up at a couple of points throughout the game specifically to act effeminate and stereotypical, and to freak out Ryuji by flirting with him. Essentially, some of Persona 5’s only examples of queer characterization are there as a terrible joke.

This would be disappointing in any game in 2017. For a game that’s explicitly about social reform and youth being misunderstood, it’s a complete breakdown, a hamfisted misunderstanding of the values and diversity of a younger generation.

So it's the same 'kind of homophobic, kind of not' horse**** that plagued Yosuke's character development in P4. Great.

So far many reviewers are impressed with P5. I'm proud of what Atlus did to P5.

Now onto the English VAs. Are they any good? Especially Morgana's VA because the Japanese VA did good on Morgana but what about the English version? I don't want another P3 situation where most of the Japanese VAs were better than the English VAs.

I really can't wait to get my copy though.

Is that so? Well then that's good considering that unlike P3 and P4 during freetime you can engage in a lot of activities. Plus not to mention that Tokyo map is bigger than both Inaba and Tatsumi Port Island combined.

Bolded, it's quite good, if not leaning on the typical 'anime VA veteran' beats of most of these games. Though some people have picked up on Anne and especially Ryuji's last name being botched, completely disregarding both context, and the fact that the voice director specifically asked for the inflection.

How would you rate it in terms of the last 2 Persona games that have English VA? Is it better than P4 and P3? And would you say that the English VAs are now on par with Japanese VAs?

Sorry if my question is on the VA side because that's where I'm keeping my eye on ever since they reveal the VAs who will be voicing.

I don't know, I haven't watched any of the English clips.

Alright thanks man.

Here's Whatculture Gaming's review of P5:

I kinda wished Blampied would've reviewed this game because of his voice.

Persona 5 is currently the 3rd highest rated PS4 game of all time, just behind GTA V and The Last of Us Remastered.... dunno how long it'll stay there, but cool nonetheless.

When Persona 5 is loading, you’ll see your character’s face in the corner of the screen accompanied by three words: “Take your time.” I initially found this welcoming, like the game was urging me to relax. But as the hours passed, that calming promise proved false. I couldn’t actually take my time. In fact, I probably didn’t have time to do everything I wanted to. If I didn’t fastidiously manage my schedule, I’d leave some friendships untended in the end.

Then I remembered that the Phantom Thieves’ catchphrase is “take your heart.” It’s a taunt, a promise that they’re coming to steal your heart and change it. In that context, the loading screen text made a little more sense.

This game will take many, many hours of your time. In exchange, you’ll get a terrific, pulpy story told with style to spare. Persona 5 took nearly 100 hours of my time, and I gave it gladly.

Apparently I'm learning that everyone is upset about the fact that there's only hetero romance choices

For ex. Gamesradar's review mentions it, but still give it a perfect score

It is strange that for such a progressive game, there is no option to partake in homosexual romance routes and of what non straight characters they are, they fall into pretty problematic tropes and trappings. Then again, Bioware is being raked over the coals for their lazy LGBTQ+ writing in Mass Effect Andromeda, especially in regards to their gay romance options.
