I am referring to distractions involved in creating a demo taking time, which would otherwise be spent getting GT5 out the door. If however Polyphony is just twiddling their thumbs waiting for Sony to print blurays now, then that's a fair point.

Well thats what I said couple post up.Rumors have it that PD says the game is done, so why not a demo.

There are several demos already made. I can understand not wanting one because you just want to wait and be surprised with the game but it wouldn't take any more time. Just throw one up on PSN.

Even if you are against it for the reason you don't want any surprises spoiled, you could always choose not to download and play it.:sly: Like I said, there really isn't any con for a demo at this point.

I agree. No matter what side of the fence anyone is on though I highly doubt we'll get a demo, but it's nice to dream lol.
 
Well it's an assumption that there is no con and we can just throw up one of the existing demos, they could be 10-20gb in size, they may not meet criteria for the PS store or take too long to be QA'd, PD could still be busy working on the online servers for the game or website or a launch day patch, who knows what's going on over there.

If there's genuinely no impact then sure, otherwise next stop GT5. (it's SO close)

Don't worry bud. It'll be here soon. Find a TV series to watch. I started Lost in July. Granted I am about to finish it tonight but it helped a little. Going to start It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia next :)

I don't no why people don't wan't a GT5 demo. Since i remember me playing GT3, and GT4, and since the day PS3 come out ive been waiting GT5, this game was delayed several times, i bet if they launch a demo, everyone who say that didn't wan't it is going to download'it anyway. So, why try to be blind about this situation, if they release so is for us just to have some fun until the full game is release.

Better we don't get another demo, just to keep Sony and PD motivated to deliver next time. I think that if they DO release a demo, we should really start worrying about the seriousness of the GT5 release delay. Because then the demo may be just a means to keep us on the leash for the mean time and buy them some extra time to fix their issues.

Your right most would download the demo, that's why we don't want one because we would cave in and ruin the full satisfaction of having the finished product.
 
Theres no point , the demos currently are about 2GB in size and the graphics are not fully represented .

Are you aware what 5 years' anticipation mean? It's long since I last cared about it: "anticipation...".
Patience is a good thing within a reasonable amount of time after which it just gets morbid and insane.
Anyway no one would force you to download it.
And for 🤬 sake stop it: maybe you all could call us "whiners" 2 or 3 years ago, not now, dammit.

So much damn negativity in here. There is no reason not to want a demo other than to be awkward.
 
Not too bothered about a demo now either. Maybe at the time Gamescon or E3 but not now. A demo will only serve them well 5 to 6 months after release to encourage those casual gamers and people in the fence to pick it up when sales start to slow. I vote no demo now just concentrate on the games release.

I can't speak for everyone but the reason I think a demo at this point is a bad idea is it would take a fair amount of time and effort to produce and release a stable and bug free demo that was representative of the final game when this time and effort should be used to prepare the full game for release. Most people are reporting that the existing demos are quite buggy which if released would cause bad publicity for the game.

On a personal note I would rather wait a little bit longer to get the full game and start playing from scratch than have a small demo now although I do understand why people would be prefer a demo now but this doesn't change the fact it wouldn't be a good use of resource to release a demo on PSN now.
 
Count me in...we need a demo because the game is not coming out soon :ouch:...(just my opinion)

A childish petition without merit could undermine something more important in the future.

GT5 has gone gold and only missed the production date by 3 days.

Right now, other than Advertising and PR, PD have nothing to do in way of developing the game, it is waiting to be put on discs and shipped. Have you not been paying attention?

GT5 is no longer in development, the problem of the delay is caused by BluRay burning facilities being prebooked for other games, and with GT5 missing their time slot they have to find another.

PD releasing a demo would have NO impact on the full game.

And so I will reiterate... There is no valid reason not to help get a PSN Demo of GT5. If you don't want to play it then fine, don't download it, but that doesn't mean you have to reduce the possibility for everybody else. For example if a group of people wanted a certain track released as DLC (Lets just use Spa as an example) Then I would not really care and would not purchase it, however I would still help the group who do want it by signing a petition or something. There is no need to shoot down other peoples ideas and opportunities. All you people saying "A petition would do nothing" are idiots, if EVERYBODY on GTP signed it there would be thousands of names, and it would certainly get the attention of the Devs.

So negative, for no reason.

Who gives a rats arse about proof. PD said the game was done.
 
That does appear to be the case but they also said they would release the game in the first week of November ;)

Well I took the quote straight from KY's mouth that they missed the production date by 3 days.

So they did do what they were required to do by the deadline, however they did not do it in time for the deadline.

Which is why I've made this thread.

The game is finished.
There are multiple public demos
The game was 3 weeks from release and it's been delayed AGAIN - without a new date

I've taken mass offence to this last delay, and I've payed for my Signature Edition. I think it's fair for PD to give its long suffering fans a scrap of food.
 
It's taken PD 6 years to make this game, of course they don't have the time/resources to make a demo! :dopey:

Don't need a demo as I'd rather get the full surprise when I get the full game with all things integrated nicely and working correctly ( hopefully ) as opposed to a small glimpse of some aspects ( depending on which build ) and limited to a few cars and tracks only.

If I get it too bad I just play Prologue to bridge the gap ( yes it's quite boring now to play that game but still ) I suppose and I'm even planning to perhaps get another new game with this delay ( which I wasn't intending before the delay ).
Good things come to those who wait apparantly, better be mega......
