Basically what it comes down to is money. Thrustmaster has probably paid a nice piece to PD for being a fully supported wheel. PD is no different from any other company out there. Yes they make good driving(notice I said driving not racing)games, but they also like the money too.

So in the end, G25/G27 owners don't have full support on GT5 or Forza. Which is pretty 🤬 up really, considering how popular these two wheels are. I don't know anybody who owns a Thrustmaster anyway.

Oh well, theres alway PC racing sims.👍

Exactly, that seems to be the problem here. 👍

I thought about getting a G27 because it has clearly the best quality & a good price. I have a lot Logitech products & I am very happy with every pice (exept my G19 keyboard wich is currently in service).

The cons of the DFGT are clear & the plastic/rubber quality is not my kind.

And to Thrustmaster, I know Thrustmaster only from some low priced/low quality PC products here. Sure the thing looks great, but I don't believe that it has the quality & the durability of an G27.
And hell, get down with the price! For 500 bucks I can get 2x G27's!

Logitech & Sony/PD, get on it, sort your 🤬 out & roll out the patch. :dopey:👍

The support will not come for PS3, since the G25 and G27 wheels are based for PC marketing. I would like to see the full support for all wheels, but due to the wheels being based more for the PC market and some small compatibility issues with the PS3. I believe, this is one of the reasons the new wheel came out from Thrustmaster, but it is still missing the shifter! I think better support for the Fanatec wheels, which I do not have one yet!!!

By all means continue to tilt at windmills if it makes you feel better.

I'm not quite sure why you're directing your negativity at me,
Surely this thread is for people who own the above wheels and would like to show their support for "Full Support"

Where are the G25,G27 and Fanatec Wheels not supported? They fully work, shifter and clutch, and you can bind the keys via the wheel settings. So it is more important to have a G27 picture in my GT5 setting screen than having working force feedback?

Well then I want my old Microsoft Wireless Wheel (xbox360) to be supported!

They are asking for full support for G27. Its not about a picture of it in the setting, but the ability for us to map the buttons. I couldn't drift by using the ebrake technique with my G27 before, which led me to make my own ebrake. Its very inconvienient to reach for the controller or the "O" button on the shifter just to get your ebrake to work. Let see, G27 offers 14 buttons and only 8 buttons works. Not to mention you can't remap them so your stuck with whatever that works.

Remember, they are asking for FULL support.

Let's see, in GT5 Prologue the paddles on the G27 didn't work and neither did the LED rev/shift indicator lights.

So between that and GT5 they have went some way to increasing functionality, but I get the feeling they deliberately held back and stopped short of full support to favour the companies that pay for the GT branding. Come on, it's maybe a days work if that for one person to get the wheel to the point where you can map buttons, recognising which signal is for which button and allow us to alter the functionality of each of those buttons, not hard. The FFB and deadzone issues are perhaps a little more complex. Hell this is the sort of thing they could outsource. If the PS3 supported third party updates/mods this wheel would have had an unofficial patch for full support from day one.

I still think the G25 should not really be part of this thread because it works perfectly with GT5 in almost every way. The only thing that doesn't work AFAIK is the:

~ mis-shifts when wheels spinning ''bug'' and
~ occasionally mis-shifts when clutch is properly used and wheels not spinning- usually from 2nd to 3rd gear.

All buttons work and all other funtions work on G25. The G27 has the much bigger problems.

Smooooooth.

Well I was relaxed until that happened.

So the G25 works better with GT5 than the G27? I was already leaning toward the 25 so that's probably just decided it. It does suck that the politics of business have to come between gamers and their expensive peripherals, though. So thoroughly unrelaxing.

If you can find a new G25, I think it would be better as a GT5 wheel. For PC and other sims, G27 is better. I'm glad I have a G25 for GT5.

What's more supported on the G25? Not trying to sound smart, but I have a G27; and what doesn't seem to work are most of the buttons.

By the way I like those aforementioned buttons to work propely

Yeah, the buttons are the main thing. They can be mapped on G25.. and AFAIK some functions can't be mapped at all on G27- like the quick change functions.

Also I can use STICK shifter down sequential as a handbrake- that's huge, can't be done on G27.

I've heard people say G27 Force Feedback adjustment (1 to 10) in options doesn't work very well. With G25 that function works great.. not sure if some people just don't know what they're doing or if FF adjustment really doesn't work as well with G27 in GT5. I've seen tons of people complain about that.

Forgot to add my PSN to the petition.

It should be noted that my choice of wheel (G27) was independant of GT5. However, the games I purchase in the future are dependant on the wheel I have. I wasn't going to buy the DFGT, a poorer quality product, and I wasn't going to spend over double on a T500RS, I don't have that kind of money. There is a huge price gap between the two official GT wheels and PD needs to recognise that price range by supporting these wheels. As I said, my future choice of games are dependant on the wheel I have and if Gran Turismo does not support my wheel it will cause me to think twice about buying the next game in the series, or any DLC that is released for 5. Infact, if the Xbox 360 supported Logitech wheels I would have already pre-ordered Forza 4 and GT would just be sat gathering dust. Wheel support is very important in this genre, as wheels are quickly becoming the standard; it is a growing market. PD need to tread carefully with this business of favouring official wheels, they can lose customers, and long term fans of the series to competitors.

I never knew that about the buttons. The hand brake is another plus.

IMHO the FF work great in GT5. Of corse I never had a G25 for comparison. I think it's actually one of the better games to implement FF. thanks for the heads up.

I'd be interested to know how other games like iRacing stand up in comparison to GT5 on force feedback authenticity.

I mean, wheel feedback is very important, just ask Jarno Trulli :)

Would be awesome IF we can use de 6 red buttons.

Lets start a petition on twitter! PD haves a twitter account?

man... i brought a PS3 just to play GT5, I brought a g27 just to drift in GT5 (it works wonders for races BTW) BUT no handbrake??? no remap??? If this problem isn't rectified I'm sorry to say that GT will be losing out in future releases. Patch that ****, remap that **** & gap that ****.

The main thing that ended up causing me to move from Xbox 360 to PS3 was the fact that I could use my G25 (among other things). I had already mounted it in a Playseat and loved playing PC sims with it, so I was very disappointed to find out that it wasn't supported in GT5. I was thinking "It's a popular wheel of course it would be supported in this the Ultimate Driving Simulator".

I'm reviving this thread. This is ridiculous. My $200 G27 feels like a 🤬 peice of 🤬 wimpy, sloppy, bus driving wet noodle wheel when I'm trying to drive with an SLS at 100+ MPH! I even custom built a seat before GT5 was released around my G27. Where's the #?$&$&@?@ tech SUPPORT POLYPHONY!!!!!! Pull your head out! COME ON!!!!

Go ahead, throw me a citation if you need to.

That is all.
