Hmmm. Some more of my EXTREAMLY dodgy work (Hell i even didnt chop the top of the pic off where i lowered car.)

And yes, i am chopping a bus. Ill post it up a bit later. I want to turn the bus pic into a night time one, any suggestions?

BTW, cookie to anyone that can find out where i got em rear lights from ;)

Heres the bus.

TONNES OF SHAVING (litterally)

I think the bus is sexy. :D

The lights are from a Galant? Lancer ES?

You could dress it in ladies lingerie and it still wouldn't be sexy!

lol. No wonder shes got a Neon.
 nice -- cheap shot at the neon. I have a neon because it will be a very fast little sleeper/show car. [sleeper in that it will have a Twin Turbo v6 engine :sly: :dopey:]

go for a blown V8 if u wanna turn some heads :sly:

You don't need a V8 to turn heads.

Car #1, 1999 VW Golf GTI looks totally standard,
but the sound and performance turns heads easily.

Modified 4cyl bored out to 2.2ltr giving just under 240bhp.

When I put my foot down it scares the crap out of my passengers. :nervous:

Car #2, 2000 Volvo S40 T4, 100% standard,
but with 200bhp it still turns heads.

Haha still no-one can guess what lights they are :D

@ Suzq, you really have some big plans for that Neon :dopey:

@ JJ, do you have a GTi IRL?

I was thinking about going with the 360 v8 -- but its too bit to not have to move the firewall A LOT... the twin turbo v6 should suffice :sly: I want to make it as street legal as possible; while looking like a tuner; just not a ricer.. I would like to scare the crap out a camaro when they say.. 'nice neon [sarcastically]' -- lol .. with some crower cams.. i can already get it to sound like a muscle car at idle. CLICK

A V6 Twin should give you plenty of power considering the weight of a Neon.

Musclecars and most other powerful cars are likely to be a fair bit heavier.

If it's not done already, or in line to be done, I would recommend you upgrade your driveshaft too.

The guy I got my GTI from snapped the original after modifying the engine.

It is great fun sitting next to a Supra, 350Z or whatever at the lights,
and they sort of challenge you, expecting to see you disappear in thier rear view mirror.
Then the lights change! - and Bye Bye!

(Note: I do not support or agree with any illegal street racing. 👎 )

Not even an SB V8 will fit in there?

You should make your neon like this car

She should put a Honda Integra Type-R engine in there, if it will fit... It has 6 gears, 215HP, even if you call it the torqueless wonder... :D

meh, if i had a neon, id at least want an engine with more liters than a soda bottle.

Well then... go for the 5.9L engine I was talking about earlier. :D

uhhh.. if i wanted only 200 hp; i'd go with the SRT motor. 2.4L turbo i4. I want a twin turbo v6 -- probably going to be the Syclone/Typhoon style from the 90s -- 4.3L v6.. If i went v8; i'd have to mod the hood so i could fit the carb there. Sooo.. i'll stick with the smaller v6 & still have a beast... if you want to know what a neon looks like with a v8.. CLICK HERE

edit -- the whole reason i even came over here... lol -- i have a chop! HUGENESS WARNING!

What are you expecting to do with over 200HP?

I guess you think the Mazdaspeed 3 isn't all that much better either, you sound like a guy that plays too much GT4. :p

The Neon is FF, so we shouldn't slap on all that power...

Ok,
I guess no one is taking me up on the TRANSFORMERS idea. I guess it's a little harder than just lowering a stock car and cutting and pasting some rims on it uh? :sly:

Anyway, when I started in Photoshop, I used to just lower cars and cutting and pasting rims on it too, then I got enough of it as it wasn't capturing my attention anymore.

Ok, here's a new idea. How about taking your cars and chopping them into Cartoon Cars (No, not the mini cars).

As I said, I own a 2001 PT Cruiser. Here is a photo of it which I took some time ago and here is what I did with it.

LOL -- i intend on doing a RWD conversion-i'm not going to put that much power to the front wheels - all it will do is lose traction and spin... so yeah, the driveshaft and everything in the drivetrain will be new. Plus - the main purpose of the neon.. is to scare the occasional camaro or gto. :D :dopey:

edit - as for the PTsnoozer.. its not bad; with the exception of the fake induction hood.. things... if they were functional, and not 3M'd on.. i'd like it more. I've never been into mods that weren't productive.

A conversion shouldn't be hard for such a little car.

And no, i don't think much of a crappy mazda, 200hp isn't anything. My dads V6 Mustang has 210hp, yes it can be pretty fun at times and is very capable of some good speed, but the v8 model completely trumps the hell out of it.

The Mazda Speed 3 is most definately not crappy, it can out-accelerate almost any FF on the road.

Also if 200HP is nothing, then why 200HP is the reason a Lotus Motorsport Elise can do 0-60 in 4.1 seconds?

Lotus_Elise_Sport.JPG

That is faster than many american cars with twice the power. Sure it's lightweight, but that is a good way to make 200HP drive better than 400HP muscle car. So the Dodge Charger is better just because of more HP? I think not. :) You must remember that engines like that are heavy too. The car weights 2.1 tons (4200 pounds) while the Elise weights about 1450 pounds. HorsePower is not everything, look at the Bugatti Veyron, that thang would be much faster if they just used a heavily modified engine that is smaller. That is what the Suzuki Escudo was all about, 2.5L V6's. Sure a V8 can be faster, but I'm just commenting on the 200HP thing.

FF's are garbage to me so why should i care that a stupid mazda can out-accelerate almost any FF on the road.

Thank you captain obvious for pointing out that a featherweight light car can use 200hp and still be fast, I would have never known that

Are you kidding. Twice the power huh, so your saying if I dropped a 426 hemi into a cobalt (hey, you said American car), then i couldn't beat an elise's 0-60 time. Also, you are comparing a car built for racing to a car built for every day driving :dunce:

If you want to talk about muscle cars, you cant. Comparing an Elise to a car built 30-40 years ago is like boxing an old man. Different times, different technology.

And with the power to weight ratio an the elise, I wouldn't doubt that 200hp for that little thing is like 400hp for a heavier car.
