IMO, putting skins and faceplates and crap on the 360 is a waste of time and money. Which would you rather have... a corny faceplace or Burnout Revenge?

Well I wasn't thinking along those lines anyway (because of the reason you put, if I got one for free or with a game then maybe).

Just wondering about things like...

This - http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/GENBRW/3-/1138504/Nyko_Intercooler_360/Product.html

This- http://www.play.com/Games/Xbox360/GENBRW/3-/719747/Official_XBox_360_Play_Charge_Kit/Product.html

As I don't think it comes with the 2 wireless controllers.

Intercooler = no no.

Play-and-charge kit = depends. If you can't get any good deals on AA batteries near you (example, at my local Costco I can get 36 AAs for $10), then I suppose it'd be okay. From my experience, charging was extremely slow, and ineffective. As a test, I left a controller with an empty battery plugged in while the console was on for 5 or so hours. After those 5 hours, I disconnected it. And the battery lasted a whopping 10 minutes.

Now, some people swear by this cable, saying that this is the best thing since electricity. Yet I wholeheartedly disagree. If anything, I'd recommend this.

I don't think people really care Duck given the fact that changing faceplates actually allows a uniqueness esp. with the ones where you create the plate yourself.

Again, I disagree. The play an charge kit is great since that even when you run out of juice, plugging it in still charges it while you play. It's much better than wasting AA batteries.

The play & charge kit is a waste of money IMO. It takes WAY to long to charge. You will have the controller plugged it all the time. Just get the Quick Charge Kit.

My Play and charge lasts for about a week and I charge it for an hour or two while im playing and it will last for another week.

Well it seems I'll get the game I brought seperately (MotoGp2006 it was only £17.99) before I get my console as I don't really know when or how long it'll take to get the console as I know it's going to be through a courier rather than post (obviously). The part of the Play website is down though that tells me whether it's been dispatched or not, I know the game has but not the console.

Edit:

So I've just checked play.com and my 360 has been sent and is in a parcelforce van somewhere between Jersey and my house.

I'm now an official owner of a 360 (what is an unofficial owner? :dopey: ).

Just packing away my Ps2 stuff then I'll have a gander around PGR3.

Nice 1! get yourself a gold account on xbox live!

I've always wanted a carbon fibre (look) faceplate but i resist buying a faceplate as the rest of the console is white, so i think it may look odd!

So instead i was going to get the official 360 faceplate which is white with the green rings around the power button area! but i cant find it anywhere.

When I'm up online I will, I want to do it via a modem rather than wireless, I just hope Dad will agree in drilling a hole upwards in the corner or the room above where the router is.

I'm going to set up the 360 tomorrow, it's taken alot longer than I though to pack away the PS2 stuff, they call it a power brick and I can see why now! :D

Well that was enjoyable, if it only lasted for 45 minutes (pure choice it didn't break :D) It shouldn't overheat either, both the Console and PSU have their own shelves anyway and neither over them got 'hot' bar the back of the console which got a lit bit warm. Bound to happen though with what it holds. Certainly a noisy thing, with 8 fans it's not surprising but I'll get used to it.

Played PGR3 for a bit, the graphics were ok, but then I realised I was playing in 50hz rather than 60hz, I changed it in the settings afterwards and noticed a difference though I didn't play a game after changing it.

I bought a Carbon Fiber face plate. It's not real carbon fiber. Which sucks.

So maybe my 360 should go in the Questionable Modifications thread?
