I was just thinking about the different feel in the track from race 1 to race 2. Remember, with Livetrack 3.0 you rubber the track in over the "weekend". So with race 1 we start with practice, then qually and then race. So, the track has a lot of rubber on it by the time the race starts. With race 2 we started on a "fresh" track.
That is a good point. I didn’t think about that.

Extremely good point we where basically racing on a green track.. I guess we should run the weekend like we did this week so the track goes from green to optimum

I wonder how well that would work on a track like next weeks Nurburgring combined. Only running 15 laps practice vs. 40-50 at a shorter track, not as much rubber should be down. On the other hand, its a relatively low grip track too, or at least should be.

I'm going to try and run some laps tomorrow night to start tinkering with a tune. Might be on around 8 or 9pm PST for anyone interested.

Would have never thought of that but oddly, I felt like my car handled way better in the second race than the first one and by the last ten laps it felt locked in grip wise.

This season alone, Live Track has really proved itself. I'm more impressed with it than I was on day one. Its been a great implementation!

Tomorrow!

Here's a little something to get you guys in the mood for this weekend. This is just the North Loop though, so if you're not 100% familiar with the track, this exactly what we're running, but the car is right!

Also, if you want to learn the track, check this out. I frequently watch this YouTube channel, and this guy knows the Ring pretty well. Yes it's in a road car with traffic, but there's a lot of good pointers for braking points and car positioning. Check out the second video for even more specific positioning at key points on the track.

For reference, the 10:08 mark of this video is at Hocheichen, dipping corner to the right, then flat out left on to the straight leading up to Flugplatz.

Hoping I can try it out tonight too. Hearing complaints already about the sound of the 911 RSR.

Came across this in the PCARS2 Reddit, curious to hear some feedback from some of you that are better at tuning a car than I am. Thinking about trying it out to at least find a good balance from all of the suspension settings.

EDIT: Might try this one out too

Lol was going to post this as well after coming across it on r/simracing. Looks like he's asking $10 which isn't too bad, I'm presuming through PayPal or something. Looks like he's also trying to work an imperial/metric adaption so it can be used via iRacing as well.

First, thank you for posting this information! I was playing around with the free version posted on the Project Cars 2 forums'. It was great! I had to do some research on how to read the charts and understand some of the units, but overall, the excel macro and description in that post are enough to get started. I used it last night on the Audi and, WOW!, does it make a difference. I highly recommend giving this tool a shot for damper tuning.

*NOTE - The damper tuning tool does depend on your spring rates, sway bars, and longitudinal weight balance. Thus, you still need to set the three items first prior to determining you dampers.

I started to check that one out too. Hoping to give it a try with the car tonight or tomorrow. It really simplifies the damper tuning, which is what I'm looking for. Setting just the spring rates, sway bars, and weight balance helps reduce the margin of error when you think about where your tune has gone wrong.

First call for confirmations for this weekend's races at The Green Hell! Quick reminder of the race settings:

Nurburgring Combined* (Hazard)
*30 Min Quali
Laps - 5
Time - 17:00
Track date - September 8th, 1991
Clear / Light Cloud / Medium Cloud
2x Time progression
Confirmed.

Also, @Alex ONeill, how are we going to be starting the race? I doubt we will want to do a formation lap that will take us 20 minutes. @Stanc03 and I were wondering about this a few nights ago. Because of the reverse grid, we need time to form up, so just a straight rolling start wouldn't work, but could we do a start, form up and warm up as needed, and use a marker somewhere on the GP track as a makeshift start line? There are plenty of places where there are solid lines across the track we could designate as the start line. For example, after Schumacher S.

Hazard and I were discussing it last night as well. We are going to call the start of the race on the last straight of the GP track before the chicane. I'll check tonight to see if there is a marker that we can use in that area.

That was the other area I was thinking about as well. There is a white line across the track right at the braking zone. There is also a white line on the exit of the right hander going on to that straight, which might be a better option, so the straight can spread people out before we pile on to the North Loop. Can see those lines here:

I was looking at a good place to start the race from and have decided to use the fist line as you come out of the right turn on to the back straight on the GP section.

Is that before the kink or after it?
