Still uncertain for this week.

My track is actually the short one.

Not sure if I'm going to make it this season, but here is a track choice anyway"
Rouen Les Essarts Short
Laps - 22
Time - 09:00
Track date - 14 Sep 2018
Heavy Fog / Overcast / Clear / Hazy
x10 Time progression
x20 Weather progression

Let me get this right. I have to use a different car for each race? So choose wisely? I have no practice with any of the cars, except the Ferrari and I think the Zcar. And they both sucked if I'm correct.
I just have no time for testing and tuning. Screw it I'm going to test some now!
Do we have to post our car choice for each track or is going to be a surprise?

NO.

each driver will only be able to use the same car twice this season. This way every one gets to drive at least 3 different cars and possibly up to 5. Twice was chosen so that anyone without the DLC cars will still have enough car choices.

Per Sgeti's car pick and suggestion will be running the Vintage Touring - GT A class with a bit of a twist, each driver will only be able to use the same car twice this season. This way every one gets to drive at least 3 different cars and possibly up to 5. Twice was chosen so that anyone without the DLC cars will still have enough car choices.

We are starting this season on Thursday 5/17/18 so I need to get the track choices by Tuesday at midnight!!! Half of these cars do not have headlights (I'm not sure if they have Wipers) so all races will be run in the day lights hours.

The following drivers have track picks this season: @Stanc03 , @HazardLvL4 , @CB_racer , @Rednose58 , @Alex ONeill

Do we have to post our car choice for each track or is going to be a surprise?

Surprise, surprise, surprise

I was also confused about the the whole car track thing but basically picking a car once will only count for 1 weekend. And after running all these cars I noticed not all of them have rain tires. So I'm just gonna throw that out there

Good Morning All,

There have been discussions offline, @Alex ONeill and myself know the league in its current form isn't sustainable. A big part of this is due to the day and time we run. It was brought our attention that two other leagues are running at the same time we are. Thus, it makes it impossible to grow PITS in that time slot, when considering how small the PCARS 2 community already is. In order for PITS to have a chance at continuing we have no choice but to move it away from Sunday. However, this leaves us with only one viable option. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are already taken by other prominent leagues on GTP, and as far as PITS management is concerned, weekends, which include Friday, our out of the question for the foreseeable future. Thus, PITS will be moving to Thursday nights, essentially permanently. We will finish this final Sunday's race and then anything following will be scheduled for the new day. Start time hasn't been nailed down quite yet, but I have requested that the event would be completed by no later than 11:30 pm EST. This is the first step in what is to come, there are many other facets of the league that need to be discussed.

@Falango, sorry to see you go, hopefully we will get to race you again in the future.

@UMDfutbol11, We all rage quit at times, it is looked down upon, but I understand, and won't hold it against ya. These cars may have been a poor choice for the overall leagues driving ability. I love these cars personally, but like @Alex ONeill and I discussed, one slight error and it is over.

For those who would be interested in a move to Thursday nights please post below expressing your interest.

Best Regards,

-Haz
Sorry for being late to the discussion, but would you guys consider switching back to your traditional Wednesday night slot? As @Rednose58 mentioned, Thursday nights are the official practice for the Sunday series. Normally, I'd say that a practice night should not override a racing night, but these practices are well-attended and have moved back to having two separate lounges due to the overflow of traffic. Having this series on the same night is essentially lowering the pool of potential drivers that might be able to participate here.

IIRC, the reason you guys moved from Wednesday night to Sunday afternoon was to attract UK drivers. If that's no longer on the table, why not move back to Wednesday night? I know you mentioned Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday already being taken by other prominent leagues, but I honestly don't know which Wednesday league you're referring to. I scanned all of the PCARS2 leagues listed on this thread, but don't see any that are running on Wednesday nights.

Even if there were, we shouldn't have to take a backseat to anyone - especially on a night that's been a staple on the SNAIL schedule for years. We have a long history of running Wednesday night series. In fact, many of SNAIL's most successful series have been run on Wednesday nights. I'd say the spiritual predecessor to this series was the SNAIL Race Car Series, which was a hugely successful and long-running series on Wednesday nights. And of course, both you and @Alex ONeill were core leaders of the original PITS, which was run on Wednesday nights as well.

I'll support you guys on whatever you feel is best for your series, but just wanted to present my case on why Wednesday nights are the way to go. With @Zii1993 having to close shop on his latest Wednesday series (which was not due to participation levels), there's now a gaping hole in our weekly lineup. We're sooo close to finally having the comprehensive multi-game weekly schedule that I discussed with you guys previously. We currently have well-attended events on Sunday night, Monday night, Tuesday night, Thursday night (two), and Friday night. Saturday nights have always struggled to attract enough drivers, so we'll just have to concede that night to weekend shenanigans. Just imagine if you guys moved back to Wednesdays; it'd be the missing piece of the puzzle to a full schedule that we can promote not only all over GTP, but through out the sim racing community on other websites as well. There's be no reason that this event couldn't flourish. Just my two cents. :)

Is there anyway that the name SNAIL can be removed from this league? I race in another PCars league on Wednesday and I guess I'll just have to ditch this league if it gets moved to Wednesday over some stupid GT Sport arcade simulator.

It doesn't matter what car we drive in PCars 2, I have all that shut off anyway. You will be a better driver and a faster driver never using the aids.

I too always shut off the aids. (Except weak abs on gtspurt). Thanks for the run again last night race #2 i had a shot at a decent finish but spun twice oops all and all new track/car still a blast. Probably be getting that dlc haha

I played the open beta just prior to the release of "GTSpurt", and it seemed, at that time, without the aids the cars were unpredictable. You shut traction control all the way off, and the cars immediately broke traction and snapped around. If you turned even the lowest setting on it was WAY too intrusive. The ABS in GTSport is messed up, in the sense, that it helps you lay down faster laptimes, where in real-life it should be impairing your laptimes. ABS increases your braking distance, where as in GTSport, it allows you to brake at the last minute foot through the floor and look like a racing hero, with no lock up.

Yeah i know what you mean. The ABS is more like braking assist. The non linear throttle also makes driving sans TCS more intensive. I dont hate the game been playing it since the first one. I just like the more hardcore feel and physics in PC2 now that im acclimated to using a wheel.(5months later) after 20 years of using a controller.
