To get the platinum trophy I have to get all Gold's in everything?

You have to get all Golds and All the trophies.
And when you log in look in the upper right corner after you log in for a yellow/orange box. in the box it will have a search link.
You can not see the box on the news page.
And yes it has.

Doing the license though will make you a better driver and help with winning gold on some of the special events

Yeah but some of them are frustrating. Mostly the rally ones cause I suck at driving off road.

Make sure you turn off TCS and ASM for the rally events. It will help a ton.

You dont have the option in the tests, it's turned off for you. But I just seem to slide just a hair too much and it scrubs off a ton of speed. I guess it's just one of those things that I'll have to practice more.

The trick about the rally tests/events is to not push too hard. Make sure you always have traction, use the brakes when you need to. You'll gain loads of time going moderate and steady through corners instead of doing wild rally slides.
