Considering that 512MB of total memory was in the PS3, and the best that it could do as far as multitasking was playing music and surfing the internet, they will need the work.

Also, on some games, you could play music at the same time. Skate 3 allowed players to do that :) which is pretty impressive for 512 mb IMO

So did I. Man, those Sony fanboys are rabid. Have they always been this way? Or have I been out of touch with console gaming for too long?

Most of them you would assume are immature kids, just like anybody that posts in comment sections of youtube videos. You can tell by the awful use of the English language.
 
i can play daytona usa with music from my hdd, the game is also on my hdd. but when i battle online i cant. on ps4 it should be possible and at the same time browse the net and do ther stuff.
 
I believe they have picture frames, but not TVs.

And I agree. Even though I rarely use it, I too hope PS Home returns. 👍
 
I remember finding a couple of decent mini-games but the actual whole concept wrapping a world around them was just annoying and pointless. Then the idea of watching a video on a TV on your TV was just stupid.

I use to hang around in it with my friends during it's early days and now also got bored,it seems a decent enough concept (sort of like a social network with avatars).

They need to some how make it attractive again,better mini games,environments ,etc.
 
I only went there every once in while and even then, it wasn't to even hang out with people.

Wasn't made any better when they replaced the original music in the main mall.

I think Lockwood ended up doing a working TV. So many of Home's ideas were never realised, its such a shame that it didn't take off. It had the potential to be like second life and have a big gaming community. If you watch when Phil Harrison announced and demoed it it seemed pretty amazing IMO.

I hope it would return but I get the impression they really can't be bothered to put a lot of effort into Home as the whole concept of online worlds it kinda old hat now and it would probably suffer the same fate on PS4.

I was pretty good in the beginning when lots of people were on it and it was having lots of effort being put into its development. Now people just go there to hoard items and rarely interact. I have been on Home regularly over the years (few times every few months) to see the new spaces which pop up but its pretty meh now.

Apparently Sony labelled Home users some of the most hardcore of PS3 gamers :lol:

They totally destroyed Home with every new update, the big 'theme park layout' update made the whole place unrealistic and childish. The original Home square was amazing, it even had fish in the ponds but then they started removing stuff like all the background ambient noise because the spaces were struggling with the server loads.

Also you can see a graphical difference in new spaces, nowhere near as high quality as the original ones.

I'd suggest trying it with 3 or 4 of your friends,hanging out meeting new people ,playing mini games etc.

You would without a doubt enjoy it more.

yes, you can play entire playlists from your hdd. but remember, only when racing ofline (with time attack, arcade mode, survival etc.)

outrun by sega doesn't have this function (also own it) and i dont know about sega rally online. my guess is it doesn't, since it got released around the time outrun got released.

maybe it's also possible in jet set radio and crazy taxi?

Give me one good reason to waste time on Gran Turismo. One could be that I enjoy it, just like people enjoy PS Home.

Just because you see it as worthless doesn't mean others do.

Yeah, as sems4arsenal said. Maybe it didn't come out right but what I meant was that people use PS Home for the same reason people play GT, because they enjoy it.

Maybe "waste time," wasn't the best word for it. :dunce:
