All TVs are different, my Samsung HDTV is excellent for lag, measured at 14ms by a reviewer. It's not noticeable compared to lag free CRTs.

A good properly configured CRT is considerably better at input lag (and related terms) than any HDTV on the market.

Which is what I said. A CRT is 0ms but14ms is pretty damn close to zero, nobody is going to notice lag that low.

Because your going to need one to play your old games when you buy a PS4

This does interest me though, did they restart small scale production somewhere just to make those? are they made in Japan? are they new or just old units found somewhere in Sony and resprayed?
It did not come with any cables so I guess Sony wanted to show off their next generation One console. It is an all-in-one entertainment system and puts PS4 to shame. Can play your audio CDs unlike PS4...

The subpar PS4 will be shown at E3, should be a low key event given VIP people invited might be too busy using next-gen PSone console .

While they don't specifically seem to answer if they will or will not, that's far more responsive then Microsoft has been the fast few days.

Lol. Like Microsoft employees are allowed to answer on such rumours. The last guy who did it lost his job quite fast...

That we dont hear about Sony either might not be such a good sign.

I still think that this DRM and blocking of used games are things that are not going to happen on neither console. Atleast not how many people think.

We probably see a ton of great games by both companies at E3. :dopey:👍

I do but I'm picky, though it has to be said any pc gamer wouldn't stand to play 'competitively' with your screen. There are different standards.

Offtopic is I also notice the smallest fluctuations on ping, fps and so on, so every time I'm console gaming I just have to have a positive attitude, especially on the ps3 since fps are less stable on it than on the xbox. Another example is most people don't notice lag with wireless controllers, while I notice the difference in lag between having the g27 plugged in to the pc against the ps3.

I think I might get an HD CRT, if they exist lol. I hate input lag, the smallest bit drives me crazy, though it's strange, I don't notice input lag on PC games even though they use the same type of screen.

But anyway, if the PS4 supports 480p, I seriously may get a CRT. I'm just picky. :sly:

Define same type. LCD alone doesn't tell much.

Go for a KD-34XBR960 tv or a GDM-FW900 monitor in the US. The tv will need the overscan adjusted in the service menu (huge difference!!). The last one I bought in Australia cost me a mere $50.

Finally something somewhat on topic from me: I often wonder why console creators have never released a unit that can have several working together, albeit with significantly diminishing returns. If the 4K GT5 was genuinely powered by four PS3s, it is obviously possible. If games were made scalable to match the number of units one owns, would that not be an enticing prospect for some? People pay high premuims for merely incremental performance increases in many areas, why not this? Stack 'em up.

Now neema t, come and slap me in the face, call me a fool, and tell me why I am a fool!!

What is there to tell? The only difference I can think of is the backlighting, laptops being LED and TVs being cold cathode tubes. (Yes I know there are LED TVs to but I haven't seen as many compared to LCDs.)

That, and the refresh rate.

I'll look into it 👍

TN, PVA, MVA, IPS, FLCD, ASV, ASSF, PLS, DTP, etc perhaps?

I didn't even list subitems such as P-MVA, A-MVA, S-MVA, STN, DSTN, TSTN, etc.

Acronyms.

I'll go ahead and admit that I have no idea what any of those are.

They are panel types. LED is just a backlighting system so you can actually see the screen(Like cathodes but uses much less power to light up).

I am really debating on whether or not I should get a PS4, don't buy anything and continue playing games on my PS3 while I can still use it online, or get a PC and play games on that.

I got a PS3 about two years ago, so I guess you could say I was a bit late to the party. I am really hesitant about buying a PS4 because I got the PS3 not so long ago. I don't like the fact that the PS4 is not backwards-compatible with PS3 games. A PC doesn't have so many problems like texture issues and you have better FPS (frames per second). But good PCs are so expensive! I guess I'll be holding onto the PS3 for a long time then.

I would like to add that in fighting games the lag is the most noticable, last second reversals, 1 frame links, hitting somone just before landing etc are all different when there is lag present. I'm from the 80's arcade era, so all the fighters I used to play were no lat at all (snk/capcom). Games like sf4 changed all this, the lag is huge and very obvious, I hate it's presence.

dr_slump... A fan of your work, and a fan of condescension in general, but not a fan of that post.

Clear as mud, yet transparent as glass unfortunately.

I've also thought about this myself, I wonder how they made this work in therms of hook up to the 4K panel. Did they use the I/0 ports and run the 4K signal off a single HDMI port? Or did they use some sort of external hub (or reverse hub) which put all 4 images together into one cable running to the 4K TV? Apparently that wasn't authentic 4K pixel format, just a "way" to use a 4K panel.

Anyway I think Sony could do something along these lines with PS4's. 2 PS4's should be able to make a very powerful 4K Media Player...

At 2 PS4s you could probably build an extremely capable PC that absolutely curb stomps the Xbox One and PS4, especially if Sony is trying to make a profit on the console. Also, I'm pretty sure you need Thunderbolt or DisplayPort for 4K at a decent frame rate.
