Ironically I did the very same thing that you did back in 2007 and it looks like I'll be doing the very same thing this time around.

Nice Job Sony! 👍

What movie is that from? Batman 1989?

I have to admit, MS had a great all games E3 presser and for the majority of Sony's I thought MS had won E3. Even the console design was meh (I like it better than PS3 though) and even spent time on media functionality that MS got flacked for.

Then Sony came out aiming guns and missiles directly at MS. No online DRM, no lock out of used/shared, no online log ins/check ins. Even though they hid the online MP paywall, the final bomb was the price. $399. WOW.

MS needs to change their tune and change quick. They just got murdered. They were winning in games department in my book, and got murdered at the end.

£5-ish a month would be a more than comfortable amount to pay monthly.

The February conference cover enough of those bases I reckon.

It was skant at best.

Still think it was a wasted opportunity to show how PSN structure is more intergrated to attract US core gamers who absolutely love Xbox Live and need to know if Sony has removed the sterile experience.

if its still crappy and MS back down on some issues then the sales may be just like 360 towering over PS3 where people just buy the Xbox becasue their friends are on Live and just lol at PSN.

Outside all the knee jerk nonsense that will die down, the bottom line is has PSN stepped up?

I like the design of the box, nice, sleak and sharp, not too big. not garish gamer and not dull like the Xbox One.

Amazing press conference. Very well done.

Top 2 points for me:
1) Oddworld: Something New and Tasty
2)$399

Random thoughts:

- They will obviously be charging for multiplayer. Not thrilled about that concept but as a current Plus subscriber it appears I won't be directly effected. Plus price stays the same so I wonder if you can pay $50 a year for plus and get free games and multiplayer or pay for multiplayer only at maybe $25 a year.
- System looks nice. Kind of funny it has duals textures like XBone.
- Destiny really blew me away. Looked so much better than I anticipated as someone who wasn't captivated by Halo.
- ACIV also looked much better than I anticipated.
- Infamous looks amazing
- Some cool looking indie games there
- Drive Club free for Plus!!?? Is Plus edition a special edition or gimped edition? Wasn't clear to me.
- 1886 was interesting to me but at the same time didn't completely grab my attention. Need to watch trailer again.
- Liked the art style/look of Kingdom Hearts but not a game I'm interested in. FFVXV looked awesome however.
-No DRM/Used game blocking is awesome. Trenton really took some shots at Microsoft there.
-Oddworld: Something New and Tasty!!!!

Great show and that doesn't even touch on GT6, PS3, or Vita.

This. x10. All MS has to do is just show off it's interface. Twitch being with MS is already a major thing that will make people side with XB1.

Just realised it was pretty odd for Sony not to announce Japan price or release date. He just said coming to the US and Europe this holiday season.

Anyway I just thought. They have the full house don't they. More power, lower price, no DRM or online checks. The only bad point of having to pay for online is cheaper than current Xbox live gold so I would add that to the tally as well.

I thought so, too. Maybe their market research has shown that the US and Europe are a stronger market for a new console. Plus, since the Xbox has typically done poorly in Japan, maybe they see this as an opportunity to attack MS in their top markets, knowing they will be able to circle back around to Japan shortly after.

Does anyone know if Amazon charges the full price for a preorder now or at delivery?

Microsoft didn't announce one either... Huh. I wonder what's up with that. Announce at Gamescom? TGS seems far too late.

I assumed that was just because Xbox tanked in Japan. Odd for Sony not to announce it though, even if it was a US based conference given in English.

Yeah, but neither of them announced prices for any of that region. Australia is equally in the dark at the moment, and I assume that both systems did well enough there.

Twitch being with MS is already a major thing that will make people side with XB1.

And Ustream isn't any different for the PS4? I know Twitch was a more gaming-oriented streaming service in the first place, but what they both offer for their respective consoles is identical.

When you preorder something they charge you when it's being shipped

Thanks. I wanted to make sure because it wasn't clear anywhere on the info or checkout. Preordered.:D

Just before delivery.

The thing is, Xbox is not really a threat in Japan. Sony can afford to target the US and Europe and keep Japan waiting for a while. Sadly. :grumpy:

You basically said what I was going to say in your own reply. Twitch being gaming oriented is a major reason for streamers to go to XB1. Current streamers also get to keep their profiles also.

Really? That means nothing. If they offer the same functionality, who cares? Expect a lot of content aimed at gamers.

No DRM is no DRM.

You would have to be retarded to keep a massive game library of games at full price. Then again, retarded people do have money, so more power to them. I know I'll be expending my money is something more accessible and simple than the overly restricted, overly tied Xbox One.

Regardless of what you meant by it, avoid using "retarded" or any variation thereof to make a point again.

"streamers"? You say this like it's a big amount of the customer base.
