The ever (un)reliable VGChartz suggest that none of the Killzone games sold more than 3m copies, not amazing numbers but yeah, it's VGChartz so they could well be wrong.

That's what I thought - I suppose people either like 'em or don't. Three million seems quite respectable though. As for VGChartz, I don't really bother with review sites. I gather that their 'facts and figures' can be quite creative.

With you now :) A shame, I thought the controller idea would have been handy, pick it up, the console goes active, put it down, console goes into game pause. Pick it up again and maybe press a button and you're back in business.

Killzone 2 and 3 sold 2 million in the first two years, I followed the sales at the time. This figure is slowly spread over that time and just hits 2million once 2 years is up. Many of the copies are sold at discount

When you consider the dev cost and marketing, these are poor returns compared to other big budget games that sell 3-4million in 6 months. Sony gave K3 are bigger push and said themsleves they want to hit 4-5 million

I think its time Sony stop bankrolling this ip, its just never made it as the Sony shooter, the owners of the PS3 don't seem to care.

Of course the game could come good, could be like how Resistance was on PS3 which sold very well as an early PS3 title, but my point was its pretty lackluster so far, gaming press have treated GG like they don't know how to make shooters over the years and my view is the game hasn't caught on like the hype/budget would suggest.

I'm sure by now GG are up to speed with game mechanics but would really like to see a new ip from them. Start with a clean slate. Killzone has a lot of stigma but maybe some of you aren't aware.

It's been a while since I've been in these console threads. I'm sort of glad I've avoided this part of GTplanet honestly. Some of the things being said are so childish and in-mature.

That aside. I've been hearing that Sony will announce more exclusives at Gamescon. If so then they better bring their A game because their line-up is looking fairly bad for the PS4. The hardware it'self is great,but without the proper software/games there is no point of trying compete.

Because their launch lineup is less impressive than Microsoft's? How many 360/ps3 release games are you still playing? Sony have a lot of exclusives in the works. Writing them off entirely at this stage is premature.

I disagree. KZ2 and 3 are both good if not great games despite how you feel. The reviews are all good and from what I've played they are worth playing. We do not know how much they made or loss just like any other game. I personally love the universe the lore and the story. And I'm looking forward to the next one. GG already has a new IP in the works. Sony does not go over the top with advertising and they NEVER hype their own games.

They should not stop making it because its not selling enough, it has a fan base and GG just needs to freshen the game up and they did with the open level objectives and totally new setting+ new gameplay features.

Still the last level of KZ2 is one of the best looking levels in terms of graphics and art I've ever seen. Never finished KZ3 though, the voice cast is stellar.

This is awesome Imo and a good reason to keep the series alive. People would not waste time on this if the series was lackluster. There is another 2. This one truly captures the Helgan world.

Gamers are just spoiled now, They expect greatness in a single game on launch. Even if they had 10 AAA awesome games most people aren't going to buy them all Truth is day One Sony will have a ton of options as far as games. Everything doesn't have to be a massive AAA game to enjoy a system. Sony. I know the first thing I'm going to do is install Warframe and Drive Club. I Won't have to spend a dime on games day one and Will have things to play including the free indie game.

I still play Gears of War... It's not exactly a launch game, but it came out a few days after. I don't play my current consoles really.

For a console to come with new IP's is important. It tells a person that the company has invested time into making their lineup more interesting. With that also may come sequels to the new IP's presented later on. I'm only interested in purchasing what interests me. Buying these consoles is kind of like an investment. You expect for the company to have to top notch games right off the bat. I wouldn't want to invest in a company that basically screams "We'll have more games later but for now, you can have these". I don't take someones word just because they tell me. In that case. I'm not completely sold on the PS4.

Umm, okay.. :irked: So uhh, GT needs to be on PS4 just because T10/MS had wanted Forza on XB1 oooor....? >_>

Kaz pretty much confirmed that there'll be a GT on PS4 once GT6 on PS3 has done well.

Ill get it with wipeout, there is no game developer to make it, but ridge racer? It's namco game, what they are thinking? :guilty:

I saw a PC Ridge Racer online game, but I'm sure you're not going to like it, its looks bad imo because its based on RR Unbounded. :indiff:

We have seen next to nothing from Japanese 3rd parties so far. It still can happen. I'm big on RR myself.
 
RR, man, I always wanted Namco to remake Ridge Racer Type 4, the PSX intro was godly, the music, the atmosphere, Reiko Nagase, racing in the city :crazy:. With next gen console like PS4, a real time remake of the intro is possible, imagine the same song in 7.1 LPCM and 1080p at 60fps :drool: Then the actual gameplay, add more tracks, more cars, better physics but same drifting mechanism - awesome sauce.

Ridge Racer 5 kept some of that R4 Jazz but everything after 5 just felt..wrong.

 
Ridge Racer 1 and Ridge Racer Revolution were almost identical. What really push this game for me was Rage Racer, third game of the series, or maybe 4th, because after RR Revolution there was Rave Racer on arcade machines.

Anyway i love Rage Racer, with uphill sections and sudden loss of power in the highest parts of race tracks, tight corners. RR type 4 doesn't have that feeling for me. Tracks were much wider.



Maybe namco would relese some totally new redesigned RR with new race tracks but pleassse with the same game engine, not the one from Unbounded. Why they called ridge racer ??
 
I Still think RR7 was the first to add depth to the game play. Yeah they added Nitro in RR for PSP( A fantastic RR game) but the tuning was important and you need to find that perfect tuning plus driving rhythm to get the best times. For me the gameplay of RR7>RR4. I still have most of my RR games RRR+RR1(60fps), R4, R5, R6, R7, RRpsp. RR7 has the deepest learning curve for the harder races.

I still have not played Rage Racer beyond the demo.

Do you have to go into super defense mode anytime someone says something even slightly against GT? All he said is it "would be great", he never said it needed to be on PS4. no need to get so irked.

I'm sure they will. They already have more games lined up and more exclusives than anyone else destined for release throughout the first year - so it's looking pretty good from where I'm sat.

Oh would you just freakin relax already, I wasn't even being defesive to him. Geez. :grumpy: Than I must have misunderstood that part of his post because I thought when he said it "would be great", in my mind again I thought he meant it needed too after saying T10/MS has done it. Damn....

On that note, I am seriously curious as to how you find time to post on all and sundry threads here, possibly on other sites too, which you certainly do read judging by your comments. Then you manage to game enough to know more than a little about them, certainly beyond anything a review might deliver in terms of knowledge - so you clearly know your stuff. I just wonder where sleep, food or anything else in life comes into the equation, I'm baffled. Are you Nigel Blackwell?

I could but it's a free forum and I can reply to what I like. As for my posting behavior if you must know I work from home freelance on my computer. I'm online in one way or another most of the day so when I fancy a five minute break from working I'll check some forums, yes. I'm not sat on here all day hitting refresh.

As to the first answer though - being a free forum an' all, it's equally Toko's right to comment how he will - as it's your right to apend some comment to that post. However, if his style irks you so, then why bother to read what he says?
 
The new Controller looks amazing,I kind of agree with his thoughts about the new infamous guy,Does not seem too likable at first glance,don't agree with his views on the gameplay there seems you can do so much more than with infamous 2.
