Read the second part of my message and you have proof. Battlefield 3. Runs just fine on a ps3. Run it on a pc of similar scale ie 256mb of ram and I guarantee you it will not work.

That's not proof that is you grabbing at straws.

We aren't talking about PS3 are we?

We are talking about PS4....

Of which you have no proof of anything you say.

All you are doing is speculating and asserting it as fact.

But, hey at least you have taken the debate off on a ridiculous tangent....

Remember... the point here is the PS4's UE tech demo is blatantly inferior to the PC's. (Which by your above logic should not be true.... right?) Wrong.

No thanks; I have 8 GB of RAM in addition to 3 GB of VRAM. Why would I handicap my performance to do that? It isn't necessary on PC because we have more than enough processing power and hardware resources... something you are evidently failing to grasp. I run a full desktop OS, while multi-tasking, while playing games.... What does a console run on 256 mb of ram? The game and "os"... poorly.

You clearly missed the point by a mile there.

The point being if it won't work on a PC yet it will on a ps3 then it seems a PS3 can run games better than a pc of similar spec.

You are trying to say that a PC of a similar power to the PS4 is exactly how the PS4 will look whilst it seems from past experience there is a chance the PS4 will do better.

It looks good so far I guess but what it comes down to in the end is that if its not better then Microsoft's offering this time I wont even consider buying another Play Station. Gran Turismo isnt enough to attract me to a second rate system again. And I could care less about the social network features they are pushing. I want performance and better online services.

The record button is a nice idea but I can do the same thing on my PC now. No matter what I will have a PC anyway so if Sony wants to attract me to a system they are really going to need to wow me. My PS3 was an impulse buy to celebrate a career move. I dont see myself doing that again.

Wow, a system that runs less programs in the background (requiring less memory to store that data) requires less memory than a system that runs MORE programs in the background (which requires more memory to store that data) you don't say.... This is like Introduction to Computers right here. As in when you take a computer course in middle school and they teach you to Google.

I am not saying anything... which you clearly missed by a mile.

Sony said it was "running on a PS4".... So, it is either a PS4 or a PC that Sony feels is equivalent to a PS4.

What do you not comprehend?

Since you missed it:

That's not proof that is you grabbing at straws through your ignorance of how memory is utilized and the true differences between PC/PS3 architecture.

We aren't talking about PS3 are we?

We are talking about PS4....

Which is completely different architecture than PS3 and in fact x86... hmm something else uses that as well.... what is it?

PS4: of which you have no proof of anything you say.

All you are doing is speculating and throwing out console gamer rhetoric and asserting it as fact.

Which is why I am at this point done arguing with you.

I'm impressed with a lot of what I've seen from the PS4 announcement, but I wonder about the finalized hardware & if it will truely be similar, above or below the demos shown, which I believe were all done on PC, I could be wrong of course.

I doubt they were running on a PC, it would be nonesense to do so with game demos, since they are developed exclusive on the PS4 anyway (talking about the Sony titles here). You could also see the PS4 UI in the Killzone, DC and Knack demos. That thing will come out this year, so the devkits are ready for this.

Watch Dogs was confirmed to be running on PC at the PS4 announcement.

We get it, II-zOoLoGy-II. You're a PC fanboy looking to take a stab at consoles at any given time...

I don't doubt that the PC is superior in power than the PS4. So what? It now has the power to pull off more advanced gameplay/physics, and the graphics that were already great, got a boost. I got news for you. Graphics aren't everything.

When a game is developed for a PS4 it's totally different from when the same game is played on an equivalent PC, that's why we saw same games that run better on an xbox or a ps3, not because one of them if less powerful but because the developer chose to be lazy and concentrate on only one console

Also that's why what sony did was a smart move, to announce the PS4 early to give time to developers and give them PS4 kits ready to run games, more time better games

I love how everyone is an expert on a platform that was announced 2 days ago....

I know. *Bless you.*

Ok, thanks. I am a PC fanboy that has had 2 360's, 2 PS3's, and practically every console before them.

I am a gamer. Period. But hey, attack the argument and not the person. Such shows a losing battle.

It is funny how everyone comes out of the cracks and attacks me when I show you how not impressive the "next-gen" console is. Funny indeed. Sorry to rain on your parade gents.

Don't forget the PS4 pretty much is a PC this time around, hardware wise.

But I think they will not change anything, they want the developer to have the final hardware, to be able to work from now on their titles and test what they could do

ohh yah I love it too

lmao.

^ Exactly my point.

Throw out a bunch of rhetoric you have heard a bunch of times before, with out even having the slightest clue of what you are talking about, and when asked for proof you get answers equally ridiculous to this....

This is like debating with politicians.

I don't know what your problem is, but you sure do have one. You're the first person I've seen on the forums with such attitude, good luck

Thanks; you might be inclined to read the AUP.

"You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate."

At least now you know.

Good luck to you.

What that you know very little about what this console can do as well but you are saying it is terrible?

I know this:

320b76b0_ue4.jpeg

Which is what was being discussed. That is until you wanted to claim it is a "biased" screen shot.

lol.

But please dear magician/fortune teller/sony insider tell me how the PS4 is different from the PC.

Interesting....well, we'll see how this plays out in time.

Pre-owned games block on PS4 is "a publisher decision"

MCVUK
GameSpot asked Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida in a quickfire Q&A not if PS4 would block used games but whether second hand games will require an activation code on the console.

His answer: “It's a publisher decision. We are not talking about it. Sorry.”

.....as in "It's a publisher decision to answer the question" or block pre-owned games? Very vague hahaha!

How about we at least wait for the final, real PS4 shots before we start judging?

Don't come in here with your logic lol.

These are the "real PS4" shots though (according to Sony). This is what was demoed at the announcement presentation. Doesn't get anymore real than official.

So, EA, Activision, Ubi.... lol. I can guess what they will decide.

Thanks for posting that...

If Sony is a Publisher... what will they decide? Because really I am only buying a PS4 for exclusives... so would be nice to know.

Pretty good going here, in fact I do believe we had a whole hour before the x is better than y started all over again.

.

Yeah, you know what I mean though. Early shots are never fully indicative of what a console can actually do (and that goes both ways with bullshots). I mean I'm not saying it's going to be better than a high end PC, it can't possibly at the price point but it will still get better.

You'll see "real PS4" shot when you'll buy one. For now everything you see it's marketing.

And since "marketing" shots are usually better what does that tell you?

I see it being much better once we dump the Cell and 360 all together; which can't be soon enough imo.

PS4 graphics may not.be impressive to a top.of the line PC but no body wants to pay for Top of the line PC price.

If you can afford one, good for you by all means enjoy it.

Heaven forbid comparisons occur between competing platforms.

But what we have so far is all PC based, it may be using the PS4 infrastructure but it is still running of a PC. When the PS4 is released it won't be as powerful as a PC which will be 2 or 3 times the price, so any comparison shots are redundant.

As for the console vs PC thing. You buy a console, safe in the knowledge you won't have to upgrade it periodically (internally) to keep it cutting edge, you buy a PC in the knowledge you will have to keep on upgrading it to keep it cutting edge. Perhaps you could have bought a top of the range PC back in 2006, that may still perform 100% now (which I doubt), whereas your release date PS3 will do.

I will definitely be getting a PS4, maybe not on release, but soon after.
