if driveclub requires PSplus subscription what cant be done without it?
can the career mode or tour mode be played without it? how long is it?
will time leaderboards and challenges be there without subscription?

You don't need PS+ to play the career, though the leaderboards will probably not be accessible without. You will also not get the free introduction to DC as that requires you, or an account on your PS4 to have PS+ membership.

No idea how long the full career is - looks to be quite lengthy - but it's only a few days until launch, so we'll have a better idea by a week or two after that, is my guess.

When it was due out the first time it was supposed to be a free game for PS plus members. Any word on if it will be free this time around?

I think I read the ps+ version will be a limited access "demo" like version. A half game if you will. I tried to preorder the plus version just now and the store only has the full version up right now. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

any news about the PSN+ plus version.

Is already 7th in some areas and still don't find the plus version at the store.

If you live in the US or Europe you can switch your PS4 on and get preloading Driveclub.

Preloading for the US is already live, while Europe’s preload goes online today. If you’re in the UK you’ll have to wait until Wednesday, according to game director Paul Rustchynsky.

Preloading is only available for those that have bought the game, not for those holding out for the free PS Plus edition of the game.

Driveclub releases this week in the US (Oct 7), in Europe (Oct 8) and the UK (Oct 10).

Is there no clever way to play after pre loading I'm in the UK and it's gonna kill me looking at the icon and I can play till Friday.

The only way you could do that early is create a US account, pay for PS+ and redownload to that...though I'm not sure if that's possible on the PS4.

i'd like to know what on both driveclub versions doesnt work without the PSplus subscription.
does anyone know for sure?

Is the plus version available yet? Can't seem to find it. Last night it had a preorder choice for the full version for $49.99. Now it says $59.99.

From what I understand, the only track you get is India and a very small handful of cars, game play features are full though.

thanks for answering ...
i'm not expressing well; if i buy the full game and dont have psplus what will not be possible to do in game?
example, i supose online multiplayer racing will not be possible without psplus subscription, but what about leaderboards and challenges? will those be there? will my lap times show on online leaderboards? can i create challenges? ... the game looses its charm without those.

Apparently, the store has updated, but DC+ is not in it (according to my cousin who is downloading three other games right now)

Sounds like a BS tactic to get people to buy the game that are not patient enough to wait and get the plus edition.

I've been messing with the clock and system setting and got a little excited when I got it to flash 00.00.00 for the time and then..................... It went back to normal :-(

Nope. Supposedly the developers have said that they haven't put it up yet because their servers are failing, so they don't want more people getting on. I'm too lazy to look it up, and Sony hasn't said anything yet, so I can't confirm it.

Well, that's what occured to me earlier on after friends in the US said the PS+ version hadn't shown up yet. As the majority of players will be going the PS+ route, even if initially, Evoloution might have delayed it by a few hours until they have things stabilised - just speculation, you understand.

I thought though that they were on top of the server problem earlier yesterday.

Here's hoping that gets fixed quickly (if it is indeed down to the server issues.)

Hi Everyone,
With DRIVECLUB, we are dedicated to delivering a dynamic and socially connected racing game that everyone can enjoy, and along the way we're facing new challenges which we haven’t encountered as a development team before. We are seeing a lot of activity and new social behaviours right now, but unfortunately this is pushing the servers to their absolute limits.
We are sorry if you are having a hard time getting online as we know many of you are. Please be aware that the game will automatically keep trying to connect you. Once you're online, you should have no further problems during your session.
Everyone at the studio is now working hard to get new updates ready for the game servers to improve connectivity. We will be rolling out these updates day by day and will keep you informed.
In order to help all DRIVECLUB players who have the game already, we're temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition and the My DRIVECLUB app to ease the load and traffic to the servers. This should give players a better chance of connecting to the game servers and, once the servers are operating well, we’ll be sure to let you know when the PS Plus Edition and My DRIVECLUB app will be available to download.
To our PS Plus fans, we're sorry you're having to wait longer to play, but we want to ensure that when you come on board, you get the best experience possible. Rest assured, if you've pre-ordered the full game upgrade from the PS Plus Edition, you will still get the full version of DRIVECLUB digitally, and if you can't get online you'll be able to get started offline like everybody else with single player mode as you start your DRIVECLUB tour. You’ll still be able to earn fame, unlock cars and get to grips with all of the options for playing and creating your own events and challenges - and everything you do will be synchronised with the servers when you do get connected, so you can set-up a bunch of challenges to send out to your friends as soon as you are able to join each other online.
We fully appreciate how frustrating this is for everyone. We want you to get online with your club because racing, challenging and having fun together is what the game is all about. We know that racing with your friends online is what you’ve been waiting for and we are doing everything we can to deliver that experience to you as soon as possible.
Sorry again for the difficult start. We’ll keep you regularly updated on our progress as we work round the clock to improve connectivity. We want everyone to know what's happening so please tag your DRIVECLUB friends or SHARE this message to let them know.
- Rushy

Well, as much as I understand how deadlines can be a pain for developers, this is just ridiculous, how come they did not foresee the server load considering all the PSN plus userbase that will download the game.

I was hoping this not to fell on the hype trap, however the delay on the free edition makes me doubt about the final game, I was almost certainly going to buy it but now I'm going to hold and see how the game goes for everybody else and test out the free edition.

Really disappointed, make me wish I had gone through with Horizon 2, less BS and at least they were upfront about it.
