Is the pole position trophy acheived online? And also i always seem to be put in group with a lot higher DR rating than mine, is that always the case with other players?

It's if you start first and maintain and win if I'm not mistaken. I have only done so 5 times so far and I got lucky because the crowd behind me was dirty.

Nope, you only have to start the race from pole position and finish it, in any position. If you start on pole and record a DNF you don't get the credit for pole position.

Getting pole position in Sport Mode is like winning the lottery.

If I put down the best qualifying lap of my life or sandbag it, I start middle of the field with pole 2-3 seconds faster.

Sport mode achievements/trophies (Pole, Fastest Lap, Wins) will never happen for me. Consecutive Clean Race achievement is unlikely as well because I keep starting mid-field and we know how that goes. I'm DR: B, SR: S.

You can game it quite easily.

First, tank your Driver and Sportsmanship Ratings. It looks like you can only get as low as D on DR once you've got five races under your belt, but you can get E for SR, by shortcutting as many corners as you can and hitting walls. The very best way, in fact, is to go full speed into any hairpin with a decent off-track area on the inside and just smash into the barrier on the outside (there's three at Dragon Trail). You'll get SR down and around 30s of penalty every time. I've not yet worked out whether it's best to get your minute of penalty and get disqualified, or just work it off, but either is good.

Then head into whatever the N-class Daily Race is. Set as good a practice time as you can - everyone at DrD/SrE is absolutely dreadful. You'll almost certainly be put on pole, and then it's best if you coast round, hit walls, shortcut every lap and finish down the pack but within the 38s countdown timer. This will keep your Driver Rating at D and Sportsmanship Rating at E.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

If you need to get wins, win one, then crash out of the next two to get back down again.

Lol, you can't be serious.

I can't say that I haven't thought about doing that though.

Yep. On today's Daily (N100 Mazda Roadster, Alsace Reverse) you can crank out four pole positions an hour and probably two wins an hour too (and four fastest laps, easily). I haven't done it yet, because I'm doing DR research and the low levels help, but it'd be a total cake walk.

The drivers at E/E and D/E are even trash at being trash. I mean, they suck on every conceivable level - they can't even take you out properly and even if they do hit you, it helps keep your SR down... They're helping you out and they don't even realise it. I had one guy try to take me out the other night after he saw me start on pole, immediately pull over with hazards on and grind down the pitwall, give everyone 40 seconds lead, blow the fastest race lap out of the water on lap 2 and accidentally pass him because he sucked so badly.

There's a player for whom the penny would never drop, even if you emptied his piggy bank on a neutron star.

LOL thats the 2nd funniest thing I've read here, but probably the most disturbing.

All you need to do is drive GR4 races in a viper, qualify well and get knocked off track the first corner, get over taken by all the other meganes while having a fun race against the other non meganes.
But race clean and on the track, after several races of dropping 5-10 places, go into a car/track you can excel at, and you will get pole lap matching.

That's a good point about not converting the pole - as otherwise you will shoot back up to being matched with faster drivers.

Better yet, if all you care about is awards, then sit at the back for the 15 clean races award, then go into a car/track you can excel at, and you will get pole lap matching.

This comming from a admin wow... Really wow. There's a reason if you can get some trophy's, or other things. Damn researching such stuff must be for a no life'er.

What's the problem? Who should it come from if not the person who wrote GTPEDIA?

The articles on our blog don't get there by accident you know. We find these things out to help the people who read the site.
No problem with what you do, thats not gaming anymore... Thats just a discusting way you give to ppl to show off, gus thats what thej do ppl who use this method.

Who cares? Are they affecting you in any way? Are they affecting how you play your game at all? Oh no, some people are using a slightly easier, legitimate way to gain three PSN Trophies (one of which is usually down to completely blind, dumb luck of matchmaking). HOW DISGUSTING.

If I haven't got at least 11 wins before I get the Barrichello trophy, then I may be tempted to 'drive alonsos car' until I can get pole laps, and hope that I can keep calm to convert to wins.
