As I said earlier in the thread, if they make the wheels impact performance I'd be interested but I'm not all to interested in purely cosmetic changes. I rarely, if ever, see the outside of my car so I'd rather have the ability to improve it's capabilities rather than it's look.

I understand that, but the thread title doesn't say "Do you want rims for standards in update 1.09" does it? It's asking if you want it period. How could you say no? They imported the cars (standards) and spoilers from GT4, why not the wheels?

I think its a good system too! Just put the rims under the "items" tab and then we can use them in any car we want.

Sorta like the used wheels on GT4, but better because we can have our own collection of rims on our storage. 👍

Yes, they can add new rims for standards (after they added more A-spec events and improved this ****ing UCD). My first car in this game was a old civic... It had butt ugly rims, eventhough it has millions of aftermark parts in RL and got a huge fanbase.

But I hope PD does never overdo it with custimisation. I already hate it to race against people with neon green + carbon hood 599 or gold chrome 8C competitzione + black rims.

Damn, this is a racing game. I want to race cars like the M3 GTR Race Car or Abt Audi TT. Real race cars. No "tuned" supra etc. As long as we have no option to make race cars out of every car (What I mean is, no matter what you do, a race car will always beat a road car with same hp/weight settings in GT5, eventhough you max tuned the road car), road cars should be road cars and not cars with gulf liverys but zero performance.

Your right, before the quake, I got the feeling GT5 was on the right way, remember? Kaz tweeted that they were working on save options during enduros.
It will take years till Japan will be the same again.

I don't really want this any more than I would want to put standard wheels on premium cars. Unless the wheels they provided matched graphics.

What I would like is for the gap between standards and premiums to be closed maybe just a little bit more. I don't like feeling like I imported a ps2 era car onto a ps3 era track. Makes sense to me to improve bodies before improving wheels, but that's just me.

Who the hell cares what people do to their cars? As long as it is legal to race against I can care less if it has brown paint on aquamarine rims with a giant blower coming out of the hood. It's disgusting the way people always want to impose their idea of what is visually acceptable, as long as it isn't offensive to the general public as in genitalia and things of that nature, who really cares what someone does to his car?

Tired of telling people GT5 is not about only racing, if that's what you want go make you own online lobby and invite people to race races cars only, otherwise go elsewhere. No where does it say this is a racing "only" game. Elitist talk as usual, GT is more about road cars than anything else, race cars are the end result of road cars. People enjoy tuning up road cars and making them look like a replica then racing others to see how well they can tune, driving races cars can get boring as the car is already tuned anything you do will just unbalance it. You talk some serious stuff here, never have I seen someone with a tuned car and it doesn't perform, are you upset about something else perhaps?

If GT5 can add it, so be it. I would like to start out with RIM paints, at least I could hide the ugliness of some of the lest than stellar looking steelies, lol. Little by little GT5 standards are getting a little more work, they fixed the reflections, and smoothed out some of the rougher patches, but there are some cars that really need a revamp, edges look like currogated cardboard. It's amazing to watch PD tweak and add on to improve what was at lauch a lacking product, but it is definitely smoothing out for the better. I could sit here and moan about this and that but that doesn't change the fact that the game is already bought and paid for, has served up some up and down thrills, I will continue to play it until something better replaces it.

I think its a simple but cool idea...

It was always some kind of fun challenge to be able to not get lost on the wheel sequence everyday... but yeah, it was damn lovelly to find some cool oldschool steelies or the rare ones like the green TE37, the RS Watanabe (like some already said) and do some crazy car/wheel combos...

the initial version has the rims i always put on it, But as you can see from the pictures, It's amazing what a ride height and rim change can do..

I say yes it would have been cool to be able to do this from the start but don't waste time doing an update for it. Instead use the time fixing bugs, improving broken game mechanics and planning GT6.

(S) cars are only "Collectables". Buy them, mark them in your mygranturismo garage, done.

PD shouldn't spend more time on the (S) cars. They have better things to do. F.e. adding more (P) cars.

rims aren't practical and would require a lot of work and time better spent on the aforementioned driverscam

Of course it would be nice, these are cars from GT4, and you could change them on that. However the game has had a complete rebuild, and this option wasn't built in to the game. There are many things which PD can do and are doing still to improve the game, I don't think this is one of them, it'd be nice, but I'd preffer the time to be spent elsewhere. We can't see the wheels when we're driving anyway. My two cents

Also...does everyone remember how sorely dissapointed when the first pictures got leaked with the "cant change rims on a standard car" not a prime priority?..really, that was a outrage and spread through the net like wild fire, That is a extremely important aspect for standard cars, I don't see them as just "collectables" i see them as cars and will drive them as such, And all i ask for is changeable wheels, It was in GT4 and needs to be in GT5, And honestly that is not even questionable. you bring the cars, you bring the "WINGS" but not the wheels...what?
