still play with ds3?

DS3 for now. Had a wheel for gt4 and it vastly improved the experience. I was waaaay better with the wheel than a controller. Hope to get one soon for my ps3.

@Zac007-yes

Shredding the blacktop @ The 'Ring on the daily basis. If I kill my good ol' trusty DFP I'll buy another wheel.

Both. I use with my driving force wheel on licenses, events or challenging tracks, use my DS3 for b-spec, easy stuff.

Although the wheel is much more fun, I still prefer to sometimes just kick back and relax after a hard training session or something and use my DS3 :)

Start playing in march this year for about 2 months then stop and play other games, recently started playing around july, and now I just bought G27 2 weeks ago and learning from scratch so I'll be playing more another few mths I guess. Funny that I tried driving with DS3 earlier, it just feels so different, I couldn't control the throttle and brake very wheel but good at catching slides

Started with controllers for GT3 & 4, switched to the DFGT after GT5P came out and it was real step up interms of realism. Got a G27 just before GT5 landed last November and played with it ever since. Agree the DS3 still comes in v.handy for menu navigation, B-Spec (and horn lol!) but couldn't go back to driving with it after 100,000 odd kms on the G27. The other thing, G27 seems to be holding up pretty good given my journey. I might have got lucky and got a good one but it appears to be pretty well made for what it is. I'd replace it right away if it failed and/or look at the other options when that time comes.

i got a second hand g27 and it has held up pretty well, and i play at least 3 hours a day... my dfgt held up from gt5 release date, till it was upgraded to g27. still works too.

i just wish they would do something about the gated shifter when drifting.. damn thing wint go into gear quick enough to maintain a drift.. unless i use paddles, which is useless when drifting

Played with DS3 since the start and only just got a wheel about a week ago, and now, after a whole year with the game it's now been totally reborn for me. Using a wheel makes the game the simulator it's meant to be. Its incredible.

Wheel all the way. Got a Driving Force for GT3, DFP for GT4. DFP pedal broke because of too much racing on GTR2, got a G25 and use it for GT5. Learning to stick shift and clutch more (only drive auto in reality).

I play with a DS3... I can't affort a wheel... :nervous:

Same here. I am dying to play GT5 with a wheel. :nervous:

I've always used the DS3 for quite some time, and now people are making these "specialty driving controllers" like the HKS Racing Controller. Weird things going on, but I do like how precise the DS3 is compared to the DS2 I used to death for GT4.

I started the first GT's with controllers. Bought a wheel (DFGT) with GT5 and I'm never going back to DS3. Still playing daily and if my wheel breaks I will buy a new one without even thinking about it.

Where's the choice "I use DS3 only when I cannot be bothared to set up my wheel" or "I only use DS3 for taking photo mode pictures"?...

Yeah that's what I do... I'd say I use my DFPro for serious racing or serious time attack... :sly:

Yup, though when I'm really COCKY I try to go faster in the Time Trials with a DS3, just to piss off the 900-degree wheel users :sly:

However when using X2010, occasionally, when using a wheel on Nurburgring 24hour track I feel like driving GOD, There's no way could replicate the lap times set with a wheel with DS3...

I couldn't even keep that MONSTER on the road with a DS3 in the 'Ring ! :dunce: That's when the wheel comes in.

Once you memorize the sequence of wheel and pedal action when driving the X2010 on a track, it somehow feels like you become a playback machine. Left-right-right, gas-brake-gas. :)

Ohh my god I love being a playback machine... I'd love to see myself from a side - I bet I look weird, concentrating and stuff...

I dont really like the X2010 cuz it's just out of this world but my god, it's not about driving the thing, but just keeping up with the car whilst thinking what corner comes next - it's like you have to have the next 1 mile section planned in your head... and then you just have to synchronise the hand and foot movement... truly epic
