do you want a race creator for career mode?

As has been said quite a few times, a GTPSP mode in addition to the regular GT mode would work beautifully. If that's not going to happen in GT6, then at least let me have tire and fuel wear in Arcade races.
If an event creator comes to fruition similar to the one in the OP, then there should be an option to share the events with friends and the world; this would probably fill the box labelled '2'.
Although, DIY shared online events like this would probably negate Seasonals.

- option to share with friends some of the events created and option to instal your friends created events in your career folder is a good feature but i dont see it as a priority since every player can create whatever he wants.
- i imagine the "race creator for..." with no limit to number of "folders" created but maybe max of 10 events by folder and max of 7 races by event (as single races or championship).

- seazonal events were created to compensate the lack of races and to add longivety to gt5. with our own "race creator for..." that part of seazonal events would be, most of the time, a redundance but "time challenges" would still be good, since there are no permanent online leaderboards for tracks/cars inside gt it self. this needs to mature as well but my priority goes for the "race creator for..."

I chose no, I think everyone's SP game should be the same. Otherwise players just generate their own credits.

I'm quite happy with the race creator as it is.

You're ok with the current, highly limited race creator, and you don't want to see anything better because at some point, in your opinion, it would somehow make the game different for each of us? How does having a better single race creator make everyone's game different? By this logic, there shouldn't be DLC, add-on content, an online mode, or the current bare bones single race mode because not everyone will get/use it the same way.

If your concern is mostly with people making easy races to grind credits, I don't believe anyone is suggesting this. We've talked in this very thread about ways to avoid people taking advantage of such things - by scaling payouts according to the race length and strength of the field and your own car, or by doing away with payouts altogether in this single race mode. In addition, what we have to do in the game currently to afford the pricier cars ... grind credits by repeating quick/easy events - the game's economy is setup to require this to a certain extent regardless of how you do it.

I hope I can speak for the OP when I say all we are asking for is the opportunity to use all the features of this game in one custom, offline mode. I seriously don't understand how anyone can be against this wish.

- sure, you can speak for the OP :) raven214
- if this thread belongs to someone, is everybody that vote "yes". our wish is simple and our dream credible.

- i noticed you use to "like" replies in the thread, thanks for being around ;)
- thanks to everybody that is posting and specialy, voting

... it will be the greatest addition to the GT series since we could do this in GT4.

We were able to choose opponents in GT4? Maybe you are referring to the Event Synthesizer from GT2? The ES in GT2 was nice- but still did not allow us to choose opponents, which is the key to unlocking the true potential of gran turismo. We want to create dream scenarios using our favorite machines and their rivals.

Think of the childr... Seasonals!!!

Most of us would be happy even without the paying credits for the event creator. The seazonals are essential to make us get money, I think they should stay.

Nice point, I agree with you. Somehow, we can say that we have a locked door now.

That's a fair reply in consideration of which I've modified my opinion slightly... providing that there are no credits payouts. It would also be nice to have proper drivatars (like in the original erm what was it called?) and be able to race against cars from your own garage. :)

I only realised how desperately we need the option to choose our opponent's cars today when I chose a Midget II for a little race and the AI chose a Suzuki Swift Sport. More than a bit unfair. Realising that I had picked an outlier, I chose an AZ-1 to see if the AI would all be Kei cars too. To my surprise, 4/5 were, but it threw in an S13 Sylvia Q's just to spite me. :indiff:

true, being able to choose cars one by one is very important.
in the area of car selection or elegible cars for the event, i also suggest the option to choose how many of ich car can enter the race. this, when relevant, avoids too many cars of same model or repeting cars that are unique.

...Most of us would be happy even without the paying credits for the event creator...

we would...though, with the otion to save the created races/championships as new parts of career mode and having the ingame economy still in action, makes sense to use the same credit reward rules used in the original career mode.

our interest in this tool is not easy credits. personally, i dont even like to have "credits" in gt, they dont make sense to me but they are here and can be regulated to be proportional to difficulty; car PP difference, race lenght, damage on/off, etc ... the basic rules to simulate economy and some sense of achievement would still be there as PD intended.

An example of why we need this race creation tool and I no this has been said previously and in no way am I starting an “I love Forza argument”. I am a motor head and enjoy most racing games and I am not biased to any one game in particular.

However last night I was on GT6 got bored with single player as I have finished most of the events and arcade mode is clearly lacking any decent races with the wacky grid line ups we have its pointless. So I went online, tried to find a lobby for “stock car clean races only up to around 480pp” found no rooms what so ever, most rooms were DRAGS or COPS 70MPH CRUISE rooms :boggled:
So created my own room, was in it for 35mins I had 1 person join and he left within 30seconds, maybe I was just unlucky but was frustrated to say the least.

So I turned GT6 off and popped my 360 on and had a dabble on Forza 4 as I have not been on it in some time. Well instantly I went and created an online lobby were I filled it with AI opponents were I could choose there cars, difficulty etc. Made a fantastic race it was an EVO vs IMPREZA race around Tskuba Circuit 14 laps. Just having the freedom to create my race brought a smile back to my face, I then created many more similar events, Clio Sports vs Civics Type R’s ETC.

Now the AI is far from perfect on FORZA 4 but they do give more of a challenge and there is no chase the rabbit because I had the grid at standing starts, was mayhem at the first corner all fighting for positions was so much fun..

PD seriously need to give us more freedom and customisation options especially for creating our own races, I eventually had to turn it off because it got late, but im sat here now thinking of the different races I could create in GT6, if this option was in there then I would be over the moon as I prefer GT6 as a whole. I think it has better physics, better selection of cars, better tracks, just a better game in general, however its current downfall is that’s its just lacking decent content at the moment to keep me playing.

phisics, ps3 graphics, real stars, real moon, good diversity of cars and world tracks, wheel force feedback, fullhd, 3d,...; GT has so many great things in it that it's gameplay can only feel beloow the potencial not having a tool like race creator for career mode.

(its the priority but a good race creator is not the only thing GT is missing)

you mean, players creating seazonal events?

with the race creator for career mode, you can save whatever you creat.
then race whenever you want. its seazonal already :).

the only diference is that seazonal events are created by PD, not players, and updated online, not local creation.

I think he just means seasonals are an example that clearly events can be created - it can be done!

i see now, your right. sometimes i have to read more than once, my inglish is not great. thanks
its not just the seazonals, they made the original career, the tool existes for sure.

Man oh man, I can see it now, Daihatsu Event on Brands Hatch GP.

In Game Description: "Forget about getting first place, the main goal, and one that is quite near impossible for these Daihatsu cars is to finish a lap without rolling over. If you do that, you will be fine, albeit your car is going 25mph, but at least you didn't roll."
Gold: 0-1 Roll overs
Silver: 2-4 Roll overs
Bronze: 5+ (eh who can blame em)

yeah thats all I meant. I mean an event is just a set of parameters. I doubt much if any actual programming goes into them its probably all tool based. And I just know that if PD wanted they could create a version of these tools to be used in game by us.
