That new RUF R50 looks like a Porsche 917 mixed with a 550 Coupe.

I think we all want these cars in... and there will be a day late in November when we actually find out whether or not they are in.

This "argument" has been going round in circles since the release of Prologue!!

He said they wouldn't be in before the release of prologue, before Ferrari said they are interested in being in GT. It was also before they the expected date was pushed to this year, at the point when he said it a late 2003 early 2004 release was expected. You can see why people are getting hopeful, what he said all the way back then doesn't stand for much right now.
 
He has stated that they most likely won't be in GT4... however, he has also stated that he would delay GT4 if it meant the inclusion of Ferrari and Porsche... sooo... we'll have to wait and see.

As to why there hasn't (or won't be an announcement)... EA still has the rights until november, and in those rights i'm sure there will be clauses not allowing other games to advertise the availability of these marquees in their games unless authorized by EA. To get that authorization i'm sure EA would want major $, but more importantly since it's their top competitor in driving games (PD) they would want them to be able to further push GT.
 
Then why would the gt4p pal but jammed with media of ferraris and porsches? Why is there a porsche modified into a Mine like the skyline in gt3? Why show us these cars and tell us, they aren't in? I believe porshe has a better chance of getting in but ferrari might be harder but like some have said, the rights EA hold are done this nov.
And I have heard there's a gallery in gt4p pal, with alot of ferrari pics. Now wouldn't you agree that's too much media for cars that aren't suppose to be in? I'd bet ferrari and porsche are in, seriously. I really hope they are in, if they are in that'd shut up some haters who knock gt4 for nothing have ferrari or porsche.

And Cobra you keep forgetting that all they did was film a staff day out, what does a staff day out on camera have to do with licenses. They can't even start making offers for the licenses until November and then you have the time it takes for all the legal issues, in other words your looking at the whole process taking about 1 month at the very least (you have to remeber PD won't be the only company interested in that license so 1 month could be conservative), which would mean aa mid December release which would miss the whole christmas shopping thing that a November release would get. KY did say that he would delay GT4 for a reasonable ammount of time to get Ferrari in, but he said that last year.

i agree with most of your post... except for this... they could already have made an offer and have had it accepted... there wouldn't be anything to prevent them from negotiating a deal and having it ready to go... it couldn't be signed over or have an effective date until the EA license expires, but unless there's clauses to the contrary (which is unlikely as Ferrari would want to maintain dominion of their own brand), Ferrari could negotiate a contract with PD to come into effect at a future date now.

Reason i say this as my real life job in marketing i have been in negotiations and worked with our legal department doing licensing deals. Where we've licensed our brand out we've always reserved the right to negotiate additional contracts and agreements even while under contract, but could not implement those new contracts until the other agreement had expired or after a given time.
 
Contract renegotiations don't take place when the last one expires - why do you think mid-season becomes the "Silly season" for stories about drivers and players changing teams for the next season of competition?

It's like you're dependant on them to survive, they are to you what insulin is to diabetics. What confirmed car are you looking forward to driving? Ferrari Enzo. You know what'd be cool? Ferrari F50GT. It goes on.

I am in truth in violation of one article of the AUP, however, so is cobra.

RGT, CTR2, and 3400S Rufs are all confirmed for GT4. the RTurbo has also been seen @ PD testing, but we haven't seen a screen shot yet... that one will smoke the RGT. 👍

Not only is that not acceptable, but it's just not cool.

If cobragt wants to post up over and over about how much he wants this or that car, let him. As long as he doesn't spam the board or create new threads about old topics everything should be cool.

Something similar goes for you, if you want to redirect people and help them out with the quality of their post, good. 👍

However, if you're gonna use that same sort of attitude to down on other members, bad. 👎

Remember, Cobragt, be carefull what you post and where you post it & Eagle, try and remember that any of the helpful work from your past is instantly disregarded and disrespected when you talk down on another member.

...I bet its PGR2 screen anyway - the graphics are too poor for GT4!
 
I didn't want to make another thread with something so small. There was a discussion about the ferrari and porsche footage in this thread so what's wrong with adding that pic? That pic shows the NYC track in gt4, that's just a bad quality pic, that's all. But is that photoshopped?

it does look ferrari-ish and at least that pic looks possibly like a GT4 style of image. The one in here looks really Sh%$ty and is probably faked. PD would get in trouble if they released a screen cap of ferrari even if they've secured the license... they'd still have to wait til EA's expires before they can lay that smackdown on us.
 
If you look closely (zoom in) to the Enzo's edges where the shine is, It sort of looks plasticy like PGRII pics look like.
 
WOW amazing, I couldnt tell anything by that crappy low res image, some of you guys must have UBER vision. That could be ANYTHING, but that is DEFF not PGR2, the enzo in pgr2 has none of the bad lighting that some of the other cars have, the ferraris in pgr2 are for lack of a better word...perfect(for a game anyway). Plus it's too squished, enzos are WIDE. The background also looks more GT (from what I can tell).
