225hp and 330 torque and endless aftermarket to make 450+hp N/A beasts under $3,000 sounds pretty good to me, plus they make bolt in kits.A bigger engine that's more difficult to fit into the bay and that makes roughly the same power as the V6? Doesn't really appeal to me. It seems like overcompensation anyway. A little truck doesn't need a V8.

I am lots of happy that you didn't get rid of the GS while owning the IS.After years of searching, bothering lots of people, and constantly going through different cars. I can finally settle down. FINALLY bought an IS300 Sportcross!!! And of all things it popped up on my local craigslist! Just 20 minutes away from my house.
And yes...I put myself into trouble by buying it whilst still owning the GS300.

I've seen a few for sale locally while looking for a new car. I considered one but they seemed overpriced for what they were. Two of the ones I saw had the words "EXTREMELY RARE IN THE US" in the description, which I'm sure reflected on the priceAfter years of searching, bothering lots of people, and constantly going through different cars. I definitely enjoyed the GS ownership. Mine took me through a lot last year, especially the local drift events. Camped out comfortably in it. I would put a lot more money into it if I were to keep it.
Surprisingly, the 2nd owner did not really know what he had. He worked at a VW/Aud/Porsche dealership and saw it traded in. He bought it for his girlfriend since it was an automatic, but she didn't like it being RWD in the snow. (Had summer tires when I bought it from them) Talked them down to a decent price without having to worry about them jacking it up due to it's rarity. Considering there was 3,078 sold in the US (Numbers from Lexus's website), it is definitely rare. First owner had it since new and took great care of it. I've actually been eying some 1" lowering springs, so I agree.
Agree, if you get some cheap/low quality coilovers you might end up losing all ride comfort and with not much performance gains as you would be bouncing all over the place. On the other hand, fitting springs by themselves will make your shocks wear faster and that would be even worse
