How dark was the tint???

35% in the front
20% in the back.
15% strip on the windshield.

Absolutely hated it. At night it was like having 5% and 0%.

(Exaggerating a bit but yeah)

So now I can see, and I will have no problem with law enforcement. 35% is the max you can go legally, then again it depends on the officer. 35% was depending on how the officer interpreted the law.

Anyway, I've always hated aftermarket tints.

Due to good fortune, I got my Charade back from my young and thanks-for-not-binning-it Step-son, after swapping him my Mirage. No need to get a Mini now. :)

No doubt I'll be getting it back up to its fine condition when I owned it. Been a long nearly 6 years.

I'll be looking to do a street/semi track car...

Or this(to terrorise Minis :sly: ) and pick up a Daihatsu Cuore.

Best car I've ever owned. Just might start collecting them.

I have no idea what the tint was on my last car, but it was darker than any other BMW I've seen. While I like the weird, slightly-purple tint on my current car, the privacy of the dark tint was king.

Shot reminds me of the esprit.

Because Toyota.

If you really want to get specific, they come from the AE86.
Too fast Akira! Not that many people know that. The styling from the AE86 lights sure did make it's way on the the SW20. What I find interesting is that the SW20 has very curved styling bar the rear lights. They fixed this at the end of 1993 for the GEN3 versions to the more rounded light design.

That's ****in' dark, or seems like about 15-20%.

I did a maintenance wash and wax today. It will be the last one until spring. :(

Prior wax application still doing it's job.

Touched up the exhaust a bit. I made it shinier a month ago...probably first time it was cleaned. Still needs some work on the top.

I also find it interesting that the late model Trueno tails are closer to the early model KE70 tails design wise, while the earlier Truenos are closer to the facelifted KE70.

The SW20 tails also reminds me of Carina II hatchback tails.

As promised here are some pics of my 2001 Audi TT Quattro that I bought for $1500. Obviously, it's going to need some work, but it does drive nicely.

Things that need to be addressed first

•Hood and front fenders need repaired and eventually replaced.
•The other small dents and dings need to be repaired. Fortunately, my neighbor, who owns a bodyshop, told my dad and I we can use some of his body work equipment or have him fix it if we need to.

Replace the flex pipe.
Fix small vacuum leak.
Replace the tyres. They're too big and at 1/4 tread.
Figure out what to do with grille; whether to make a mesh grille or buy one that can accommodate the huge aftermarket radiator.

Mk1 TTs are hugely underrated IMO, although this one definitely needs some TLC! I work on them pretty much every day so if you ever need any advice I should be able to help. If you're replacing the flex pipe yourself though, I will warn you it's not a good time.

Quattro? 150-180-225hp?

Welcome to the club

A lot bottom end work/ turbo work on transversal VAG are a nightmare. Still better than sparkplugs on a boxerengine :p

R8 coilpacks can be fitted on Skyline GTR's , quite common even

Very true. I replaced a flex pipe and cat on a TT just today, and I had to drop the subframe, steering rack and unbolt the propshaft just so I could gain access. Don't even get me started on removing the turbo.

You weren't kidding when you said it was a pain. This ought to be fun doing it out on a carport, outside, likely freezing or close to it.

Oh boy. If it's any consolation, the heater broke at work today and I was working on the ramp closest to the door so I was also freezing.

It sounds like a lot, but it's not really that hard once you know what you're doing, it's just a pain you have to remove so much to get to it. If you take the subframe and steering rack down still bolted to each other that's half the battle. Like I said, if you need a hand just drop me a message and I'll help out, I've done them many times.
