I switched my daily driver from a Seat Leon FR to a Cupra Leon ST today. Being a wagon, it is of course a bit more practical.
I like it so far, will do a cross-country trip tomorrow so I guess it will be put to test.
Going on a road trip down to Stockholm and back (some 1300 km in total). The trip down started out with heavy fog, but virtually no traffic on the road. Here's the Polo in front of the barely visible High Coast Bridge.
Finally ended the "fun second car" hunt yesterday with this lovely '97 Acura Integra GS (no VTEC, womp womp). It's pretty much stock, with the below items my primary concerns:
Leaky fuel tank; this will likely need a full replacement, and some other odds and ends directly connected to it like the filler neck and straps
Crusty brake lines; not something needed immediately but for my own peace of mind I'd rather get it done before the lines decide to pop
Front wheel speed sensor; ABS light is on, and the diag code is pointing to the driver's front sensor not communicating properly
Previous owner mods to undo; fart can exhaust, cheap LED underglow strips + related wiring, blue cam cover
Aside from the maintenance items I'm mostly working through the registration/insurance rigamarole before I take it out to learn stick this summer. Also made the first step in rectifying the exhaust situation already, though I think I'll still need some resonators to bring out the dulcet tones of the B18.
Introducing the world's rattiest Mugen Twin Loop! Now without the attachment flange and genuine road rash.
Sunday was a bit eventful!
Went over to the local auto parts store and discovered this ride one of the employees uses to get to work. Maybe something I can finally beat in a drag race?
After stopping at the auto parts store I continued to cruise on some rural roads. I came across a guy driving his ‘67 Plymouth Fury II just about to turn down his gravel driveway. He saw me in the oncoming lane and waved me down. I followed him down his driveway and we talked for probably an hour. Fellow was super friendly and enthusiastic. He proceeded to show me his garage in which he could hardly contain his excitement. He told me he had a VW Transporter as well, a 1973 T2 Westfalia Camper. He dragged it out just so we can have side by side photos of the two.
