Some of the enduros cut out soundwise, and some don't. Laguna Seca is the worst--by the time you're maybe halfway thru the race, not only can you not hear the music, but you also might not be able to hear the tires squealing, which makes it incredibly hard to know if you're braking correctly or if you're about to go into a slide or something. :scared:

Engine noise also begins to cut, but turbo noise doesn't! So all you'll be able to hear is this wssssssssssssh. 👎:dunce:

The 1998 Toyota GT-One has Esso Ultron decals as unlocked by the player, but the A.I. cars have Exxon Superflo decals. I don't know if that is a similar case with the 1999 car.

It is the case with both cars. It's due to licensing issues (I think?), the Japan game had Exxon sponsorship and the American game had the Esso sponsor (or it might be the other way round, I'm not sure). You can use gameshark to get the other car though (not that it'd make much difference).

It's pretty much the same case as Opel/Vauxhall and Honda/Acura.

Yeah, and there may be some cars with "Esso" sponsorship taht are also hidden in the game. Guess it depends which version you have (1.0 to 1.2 or NTSC/ASIA, NTSC/N.American, or PAL versions). I'm not an expert, but Pupik has all this listed on his site:

http://formulanone.org/GT2

edit: hey Pupik, your site..i'm not seeing where the GT2 stuff is again! :grumpy:

Why?

Anyways, I have 1.0 of NTSC, the infamous 98.2% game. When I beat it a while back, I got so depressed that I deleted the game... I believe the licensing is in North America then for Esso Ultron, but why would the players' car have said decals? The 1999 car is the same, as far as I know (sadly, I don't have it yet).

Why what? Why 2 sponsorship labels for the same car? Probably because in America, we don't have "Esso"...we have Exxon. So PD was trying to please everyone but somehow they screwed up. I think. I'm not sure what you're asking.

But waht i wanna know--Why did you get so depressed after you finished the game? I"ll play shrink for a moment. Share your thoughts. I can't say i've ever felt depressed after finishing a game, but i did get that moment of "geez, now what do i do?"...kinda like finishing a great book. Now i'm done this great book, and i'm bored....that's how it is with me at various times.

Maybe thats' why i play multiple games...to mask some psychological issues. :nervous: I mean, it's something i've thought about on occasion...how come everyone else feels satisfied with playing one game, but i can't help but delve into at least 8 or 9 at a time (with multiple characters, too). :ill:

Why as in a rhetorical question for Pupik's excellent site being down. I should have specified.

I was younger back then and was hellbent on beating the game. I was constantly trying to figure out why I had 98.2% instead of 100%, when I had come so far. I didn't know about the NTSC bug... I sank into depression and eventually deleted my game.

It's not down. I just couldn't find the GT2 links. :banghead: This wouldn't be the first time i've tried to go on his site and come back empty-handed. His gT2 pages are a great reference for any car in the game. :grumpy: I'm not sure what's going on.

Wow..

When I did the Apricot Hill Enduro, in the middle of the race, a Honda/Acura NSX spun out and got stuck on the wall  until lap 30 when I slammed it with my Shelby Cobra Coupe.

Well there was one thing I saw.The sound of the engine and tires are cut off when you drive more then a hour(most likly my disc).

I dont know if anyone noticed this:

look at test #3. It actually takes place on Apricot hill. Funny how PD wanted us to practise cornering on a straight;]

O! and not to forget - this is the PAL version:)

That is what may be known as, 'dealership ratings', that is, when a car is rated at a certain amount of power at the dealership on the lot, but once you purchase the car and get a good look at it at home, you find that the power either has rocketed or dropped. That is a good case; another is the Daihatsu Storia Rally Car, rated at 493hp on the lot, but it drops to 427hp at home.

I think in this case (the MIni RC), it's really just a huge f:censored: up. Maybe the person researching the stats over at PD didn't communicate properly to the person who programed them. :P

It drives like the whole 239!

A bit like, I believe, the Alfa Romeo 155 Touring Car, which goes from something similar to 414hp to 544hp. The same case is made for a lot of touring cars.

I'd guess that, in the case of the Mini Rally Car, the physics model just didn't translate the real-life specs into a properly exciting car, and so they cheated a little.
