1988 BMW E30 M3

Hit head on by the truck in the background. Both cars going approximately 45mph.

Dont worry, I bought it back from the insurance company for $500. Will be parted out. It is worth atleast $6 grand.

if i can find a scanner i'll get you pics of my first car, before and after the accident.

car: 1991 Chevy Caprice Classic sedan, maroon.

September 24, 2002: it was in my senior pictures.

September 25, 2002, 7:50 AM: was driving too fast for conditions, locked up the tires, and slammed into a tree at 40 MPH.

details of the car: accident force blew fuse panel cover and Clarion flip-front CD player face plate off, pushed motor and transmission back enough to wrinkle floor and bend front seats towards each other, all doors still opened and closed with no problem, bent windshield enough to fit my hand between windscreen and cowl in center of car, windscreen didn't crack until loaded on the car hauler, broke headlight mounting places but not the lights.

damage estimate: body shop stopped estimate at $5,000 from the firewall forward.

definately ****ed that **** up.

Yes that was my car.

As funny as it sounds when I say it, the wreck almost killed me. It had something to do with the massive blow to my chest area. The car was an 88, so it didnt have an airbag. (90-91 M3s had airbags.) So even though it was life threatening, I luckily have all limbs and most brain function (hehe, I feel stupider, i swear).

As much as it crushed me to see this car destroyed, if I was driving the car that I usually drove, I think I would have been dead, or atleast lost one or two legs. It was a civic, hondas are great cars I know, but they just arent built as tough as a BMW is. I can only imagine how crushed up that tin can would have bin if it were hit like that.

BTW, Im keeping the strut bar as a seuveneer.

Do you really have an E39 M5? Or is that a joke. As a stock M5 does 0-100m in 5seconds, I would imagine a twin-turbo one would do it a bit faster than 4.9seconds. I would also imagine it would go more than 170mph. How much power does it have? You must not be running much boost. Sorry to sound skeptic, but dont all turbo setups run an intercooler? Especially if they are of high quality.

Yeh i do Have an M5, but most of my specs are around the true value of the car and may not exactly be precise or spot on, secondly(thats my dads ride). my ride is a 5.40series Bimmer 1994 model

awesome car. would love to hear some real specs if you can find them out from him. BHP would be interesting as well.

so you guys really are a bimmer family? hehehhe

Why are they trashing the R34??
There were a lot of parts that still can be used!!!! :banghead:
I know, or they just could of fix the panels and any other thing damaged.

Its sad it was quite fresh n'all. We need a new system that allows us to see the cars that are about to be crushed, and allow people to take the car or parts from it for other use and repair. It will save time and money if evry thing worked out that way.

Post Whore. I thought the story behind that skyline was that it was a prototype for the states and they wanted to get rid of it or something because it wasnt being manufactured. Something about the law though.
