is a screencap the only way to get this done? or filming the psp? Can i connect a PSP to my computer via USB and just upload the replay that way?

any answers would be appreciated, thanks!

If you have a 2000+ series PSP and a capture device for your PC, you can use the S-video output cables and run the s-video to the capture device to capture video.

I didn't think the s-video cables would allow output of gameplay, but one of the members of this forum uses it to do so... I guess it just has to be output in progressive mode... so make sure your capture device has the capability to handle 480p input (as opposed to 480i).

Since I didn't think the s-video cables worked, I bought the component cables to run to my TV. Then I use an old Flip video recorder to capture the replays off the TV screen instead of trying to film the PSP.

Hope this helps.

I use my component cables with a hauppauge HDPVR. yeah the HDPVR cost $200 but it is capable of recording up to 1080i HD

You cant transfer replay Files from the PSP to PC to watch.

You can use the composite/component cable to recod video, but quality is not there (unless your really set up, like ShawnPhillips). THe composit cable will do so only with CFW.

You can then use CFW and your USB cable to toss the image to the PC screen, and then use PC software to record the replay, this results in pretty damn good quality.

Same setup here. :)

But keep in mind, whether you are using S-video, composite or component, the aspect ratio will be wrong because it fits the 480x272 (3:2) picture in a 720x480 (16:9) box. You will need conversion afterwards to correct the aspect ratio. This is not the case when using CFW and outputting the picture straight to the pc; aspect ratio will be correct since it's outut directly instead of placed in a box.

Very good point.

Altering the video after the fact will usually leave you with aspect ratio issues...

Find a way to connect your PSP to your PC and record it from there. (there is a hack fot people on psp cfw using the illegal copy of the game but since you have to hack your psp i wouldn't suggest that)
Its called remotejoylite. you just need to have a psp with cfw and a usb connection to your PC and the program RemoteJoyLite. Me, I am hoping to sell my old laptop for enough money for the GT PSP bundle so that i could start recording replays. My PSP-1000 cant do so unless you use the illegal method i had previously said.

lol thats too much work IMO for just a psp replay. ill just record the screen with a camcorder. thanks for the input though guys

the remotejoy (the cfw video through usb) dont work on GT well, it causes garbage graphics due to the gt display mode, it only captures half the frames

Wrong, the Videos from GT PSP are actually some of the best comming out of Remotejoy, & THE BEST GT PSP videos out there (there are allot posted off this site)

Fisrt off the fps During a race, is between 45fps and 58fps, during a replay Its the same. In the menus its 55fps to 60fps.

The recorder you use and codec will vary the quality. Most of the time when you prep the video to be uploaded you compress the video to 29.97fps (undetectable to the eyes) THe new Assassins Creed game will run at 30fps.

Even if it only captured half the frames as long as there are 30fps its all good...

What causes the videos to loose real quality is when uploading them to youtube, youtube further compresses the videos and that makes the quality Drop.
