Just in case you are wondering i care nothing for the Ferrari's that seem to be so coveted. there are no races in the ***king game that will allow us to use them. So why would it matter if i get one or not.

Ouch. It hurts because there's truth in it. Most Americans are only interested in two kinds of racing: Nascar and Drag. One breaks down to "Drive fast. Turn left. Drive fast. Turn left. Repeat 250 times. Win." and the other breaks down to "Drive really fast. Don't turn. Stop. Win."

Oh, and 1.07 blows goats.

I have to mix in a right turn or three to make it worth staying awake for. Never been to a Nascar race, but grew up right next door to Laguna Seca, and now live a few miles from the new F1 venue that's being built here in Austin. Can't wait.

Figured why can't we have our own thread about why this new patch is a great idea. Loves the idea of taking tires out of the equation when trying to setup a fair PP race. Also now my replays from my seasonal events can be watched. Fantastic! Also helps cut down on the dup'ing of cars since that is prolly the main reason it was created. But for a player like me that does things the right way, and plays the game the way it was designed I have no hard feelings about this new patch. Heck that just means I'll be playing it longe rto ge the cars I would love to test out.

If you don't want to dupe cars then don't, why piss on somone else's parae, no one is bothering you aabout "not" duping.

Yea your right my none duping habits was the reason this new patch came out. I just want to say sorry to everyone I screwed this up for. I know you guys bought the game to race, have fun with your friends and share cars with each other. I know while I was not duping they sent out this patch and so I do apologize for my actions. Now that have ruined part of the game for you.

Everyone needs to calm down a bit. His point is, if it gives you satisfation not to dupe, than live your life with a clean conscience knowing you don't dupe. Duping is not hurting anyone.

I pointed it out before but I have a family of four, all of us play GT, since halfway through 2nd generation. We enjoy it so much we have a rennsport wheel, the stand, clubsport pedals the whole 9. My wife plays it even though she sucks at it it's fun watching her replays. Even my little girl plays it, we all trade her our pink paints so she can paint all her cars pink. One trade a day??? C'mon. And the races pay out so little it would take forever to save up enought to buy the cars I dream of. This is a dreamers game, cars I'll never be able to drive, let along sit in, but here in the privacy of my own home I get a taste of what it would be like. The B-spec thing is garbage IMO.....I might as well watch my son drive around for hours. I'm sure if PD put there collective genius heads together they could come up with something better than this. If I was the CEO of this company, heads would role for such a hairbrain solution. Pitiful for a game years in the making.

Uh I'm sorry, but your wrong. I believe that patch applied to me too. Physically hurt? NO! But the money I spent to play the game the way it was advertised. YES!

I am American and honestly do not care for the oval racing, it is usually boring unless the competition is good. So I too prefer road courses. But if a race will be grinded over and over, at least this one is quick and easy. :)
 
I'm good with the 1.07 patch. No problems, and it makes life easier. Now I can enjoy the game and play online without someone asking me "you wanna trade that R8 race car '01"?

If this thread gets closed, then every single thread/vote/petition complaining about the 1.07 patch should also be closed for the very same reason.

why should u care what other players do with there own money ... stop complaining about dupers and just play the game.
 
I am English, I emmigrated to North America a few years ago. So I get to see both sides of the racing spectrum (European vs Nascar). I am and always have been a big big fan of F1 and the european touring car scene, rally has always interested me too.

Whilst I would say these sports require more technical skill on a race track, it has become very very apparent to me that the mentalitity of anyone who doesn't watch or care for Nascar is very narrow. Nascar is very different, however in some ascpect way more fun, its not dominated (although jimmy johnson has won 5 champs in a row) by single cars or manufacturers. Play Nascar track daytona or Indy online in a good room and you will see how fun it is. If you are a really good race gamer, you will dominate most road tracks. It is different with Nascar, more stratergy, patience and team play is required.

Anyone who says Nascar is easier then any course style racing only has to look a Montoya, did F1, did ok, went to Nascar, definately not a front runner, unless he is on a nascar course track (not Oval), he excels here. Comparing Nascar and most European style racing events is like comparing canoeing too sail boating.

As for Pro 1.07. I couldnt be bothered too dupe, PP wasnt around long enough to rely on a difference, so 1.07 aint anything to shout about! Im more 1.06 pro ! 1.07 changed things that I didnt notice. When they bring save feature to endurance, that will be my fave update :dopey:

I know the difference, just to let you know. I was commenting on the stereotypes that most Europeans have about Americans. When I believe that Gilles Villeneuve was one of the greatest racers ever, do you think that I am still a silly American? I would agree that the USA needs to expand it's horizons past NASCAR, but to knock America for having only one true motorsport would llike knocking the UK for only have one true sport. (By the By, go Manchester U.) What next, your going to tell me only hamburgers and hot dogs are available for food here, too? All that I am saying is a stereotype is a stereotype, and I would love to bash this one right in the mouth. I have said it before, I would love to see more international tracks in GT5. Spa-Francorchamps, Silverstone, the Albert Park street circuit, Donington Park, and Monaco. Even Knockhill in Scotland. Heck, give the Bahrain Circuit! Then maybe we could actually see racing on it this year. Give me these tracks. I would be one happy American.

Not quite. But what does any of this have to do with good ole GT5? Nothing. Think we should start focusing on the OP praise of the update instead of turning this into a flame war across the pond. 👎
 
I love the 1.06/1.07 patch. It's the biggest improvement so far.

I don't know why people moan about having to "grind" Indy, when there's been a constant stream of Seasonal events that cough up huge payouts for very little effort.
 
With the great updates we received in the this update, I for one can't wait until 1.08. Hopefully it will include the endurance game saves as Kaz has twitted about.
 
I like this patch. Stops dupers in their tracks. Althought have trading restricted is abit of a downer i can live without it. And all these Kiddies that say "Oh have fun grind blablabla" I'll stick to Bspec thanks.

Good for you. I'll stick to actually DRIVING all of my duped cars instead of pushing a button and walking away. Im at level 33 B-spec, but IMO it's not fun, at all. Unfortunately it's a necessary evil with this game unless you want to repeat the same races 100x over. Instead I run B-spec on the PS3 while playing something else on the xbox.
