I do agree with you Negrumir. The people that sold the cars on ebay: I hope the monkey on Trail Monkey throws poo at you!!!

But it does kind of ruin the game's economy.
This is my only problem with duping. I won't stand on my soapbox and say that I'm not guilty of duping. But I did it to enhance MY game, and have only done it with two cars, and paint. I never inundated the marketplace with my product. Also, I was a victim of duping, in essence. I traded for the three X2010's because it was just so easy. I wish that I didn't do it, because I feel my game save is a bit water-down because I no longer have a need to the S. Vettel challenges. I never even learned how to drive the car before I had three. This is why I am against it. Please don't get me wrong, I do not condone trading in the slightest, but when I see "X1's in every color............." is horrible, and horribly tempting.

I never played Borderlands, but I know their used to be a way to cheat prestige and money on Black Ops, and feel that is the same. All of sudden, you have access to everything. I HAVE PLAYED TEN TIMES LONGER THAN YOU!!! How is that fair.

I've looked up all the prize cars, and try not to acquire those either by buying or duping. (Though it will be hard to resist buying at least a few of those, and I'm not sure I'll ever gold those challenges...)

I've got no problem duping $4mil+ race/classic cars though. You shouldn't have to grind that long.

I don't dupe. Nor do I have any problem with duping whatsoever. I could understand if the makers of the game did, though I would argue with them forever, it is there game. Duping has made it much easier for me to get the cars I want in the marketplace. All I do is double up on "rare" cars, I now hate that word, and eventually somebody who dupes who needs it to complete a collection will give whatever I want for it. Just now I traded a Genki Hyper Silvia for a Chapperal 2D. Often the people who dupe will just give away cars if you're cool with them.

This is my problem with duping however. No need for argument, just debating. When people are so willing to give up Chapperal's, Ford GT RC's, and every other Race Car for that matter, it entices the purists. The purists and dupers alike, (in my opinion) are not experiencing the game for what it should be. When all I had to do beat the historic races was give up an easy replaceable JGTC car for a 2J, can't say that I didn't consider. That's how the duping problem spreads across the entire board, not just the dupers corner of the world. What was so fun about GT1-4? You had to earn everything!!! Those are the games that got us addicted, on this site, and started this war. Everybody wants to say it's okay. Well, it's abused. That abuse is the problem. Not duping, not trading, but that abuse.

Travis pastrana, All round legend IMO is starting NASCAR this year and his new motto is "remember , don't turn right" . Anyone who knows anything about action sports will know he comes from a fmx and rally background. Just goes to show that you can combine other motorsports with NASCAR. Plus you kind of have to turn slightly right when moving out of slipstream to overtake on the outside of a straight!
So yeah. I'm British and I like NASCAR

Ryan I suggest you do a little more research on trav and his inside joke with his friends about not turning right. Has nothing to do with nascar or any sport "background" ect. It has become an inside joke as his foam pit is at the end of his driveway beside a shed, to get to it you come down the driveway turning left than hit the ramp for the foam pit. People have had a tendancy to over correct as they hit the ramp and pull back and to the right, which has caused them to miss the foam pit completely and land on the crane used for pulling you out.....as a joke a "no right turn" sign was put on the foam pit and the inside joke has grown from there.

I did not know that, that's 🤬 funny. Thanks for that bit of info!

My problem is we did that, now it's literally affected the way I play the game thanks to the 1.07 update.

It's not an ice cream truck but one of those useless Samba busses :)

You just had to ruin, didn't you. I was really looking forward to a Bomb Pop. These kids today with Samba Buses and weird paint. Can't tell if it's an Ice cream truck or................

Oh look, a Volkswagen Shwimmwagen!! Those thing are more fun to ride than a rollercoaster!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Look Mom, two wheels!!! They even painted it gold chrome!!!

P.S. I wonder why they call me window licker?

I am surprised at how quickly PD responds to us - the two camps have been petitioning PD for this and that and I really think they are trying to get it right, finding a compromise. I mean look at how quickly they opened up the window for + 1 million Cr cars (apparently to let some of us finish trades).

I think PD is listening and compared to other games they seem to react. I like the update even though it affects me negatively. On the other hand I don't see the point of calling people who post displeasure whiners.

Go Legends racing! Go Cougs!

:@: ObsidianG35. It really does show that PD is listening, with the update and then "fixing" it. I am very happy for this, not very many companies show level of customer loyalty. They may not be on the same page, but they are reading the same book at least.

Duping, yeah, it kinda does affect others. It means that for those who don't dupe, they're at a severe disadvantage because those that do can trade and give away anything without actually having to give it up, thus they can make far better offer's to get what they want.

Disadvantage how? In the GTPlanet marketplace? That doesn't really mean anything in the grand scope of the game itself. If you're referring to online competition it means absolutely nothing because if the room is set up right then if you have a car that is competitive then all that matters is your skill as a driver and you should still beat a noob with a duped car if you're better, right?

I believe that it does effect the grand scope if you choose to look at the grand scope. Remember GTPlanet and the marketpalce is but a sliver of the GT Universe, and not the whole part. If it's a problem here, then think about what going on else where it in totality.

I think that the opinions here are of those of the hardcore enthusiast, not the average gamer. The average gamer only really cares about having fun and not about what cars everyone else has. I think the opinions here are more serious and thought out than what the normal gamer thinks and that's why I come here, but that doesn't mean I believe that the GT5 community as a whole thinks the way those at GTPlanet do.

Total users online at GTPlanet at time of post, 1970. Copies of GT5 sold, over 6 million. Unfortunately, GTPlanet cannot be considered representative of GT5 user opinions at large, statistically speaking.

Not everyone is addicted to the racing element. Sometimes it's fun to take a break from the racing aspect of the game and collect cars. The coolest thing about trades is that it makes a whole sub game. A game within a game, a mini game of collecting cars.

I mean who are the dicks here? The players who dupe to collect all the cars or PD for making so many stupid cars that are EXACTLY THE SAME. The Mazda6 Touring and the Atenza touring are THE SAME CAR. Also the (EU) vs. (US) versions. SAME CARS. They made a huge list of identical cars that serve no purpose in the game other than to inflate their silly/inaccurate boasting of "over 1000 cars to race!" yet half of which are either functional equivalents or some POS minivan or station wagon or such and such crapola, that absolutely DO NOT belong on Nurburgring - the only purpose for their existence to be to "collect them all!"

People love to collect, why else would nonsense like beanie babies and fountain pens exist in large quantities? It's really nobody's business how someone else chooses to enjoy the game. If somebody would rather collect cars than grind for 40 levels, (which requires slave-like dedication and/or cheat grinding IMHO - when u complete races you should already be at the level of the next race group without having to rerace and rerace to get to the very next race) then what is it to anyone else?

PD started this crap with their game design and subsequent flaws. Now the genie is out of the bottle and now there is a large group of people who love that aspect of the game and are now made to feel as if they've done wrong when all they've done is enjoy the game they bought. Remember that word? Game? IT'S A GAME! It's not national security. It's not healthcare!

If people have fun duping, collecting, giving away cars, if it makes them FEEL GOOD and they HAVE FUN, well isn't that WHY we play games? Or is it just to jump through the hoops of some game developer?

The best games take on the life and identity of the PLAYERS not the designers. Seriously, what would Half Life have been without Counter-Strike? Old reference I know but I'm an old guy. It would have been greatly diminished is what.

It's no skin off my nose how people choose to enjoy the game they PAID FOR to play. I've had cooler connections with other humans by giving away and trading cars than I could ever have had beating a special event or an A-Spec race and then posting about it on GTPlanet.

Everyone needs to give PD the finger. Changing major game mechanics like this is inexcusably oppressive. Remember it's not cheating if nobody is getting cheated.

The americans seem unable to follow one sign:

Since we're stereotyping...

The British also seem unable to follow another sign...

I'm an American and I say NASCAR sucks.

Very well said. I was happy after 1.06. Now I've just decided to counter whine the elitists and badmouth PD to kingdom come.

I know mate but he's using it as a motto for his NASCAR career now though.

+street bike tommy on the road bike was classic!

Why does it matter to anyone who plays the game properly or who cheats? it affects you in NO way whatsoever. it wasn't you're $60/£45 to buy the game.

If 1 guy wants to trade a car he's used to trade OVER and OVER so be it as he paid HIS money to do it :L

As for the whole Grinding controversy, i'm currently away for the weekend. My PS3 is currently running Indy on Dream Car Championship with the Auto Grinding. I'm Estimated over 3 days to hit the 20,000,000 mark with my current credits.
Like they say it's better to have you're computer runnning constantly hot than on and off so i just left it running. Thats not the most difficult way to make money is it? I'm away for a mates birthday and my GT5 is making MILLIONS. I do this when i go out the house at any point!

Version 1.7 Is a GOOOOOOOOOD UPDATE :D
