Which pre 70s race car do like the best ?
Ford MkIV.
@Symustafa? No Porsche in GT5 so doesn;t count.
Never specified it has to be in GT5. So yeah, it does.

Jaguar XJ13. I have more than a few!
I would have to say the Jag XJ13. Jaguar had some of the most beautiful car bodies back in the 60's. Still one of mine all time favorites is the XKE. I worked at a Jaguar dealership back in the early 80's and always loved to have one come in for service. The best part was the test drive after I had serviced the car. Nothing like a good "Italian Tune Up"! For those of you who don't know what an Itallion Tune Up is; it goes like this redline through all the gears and pray the "smokey" is nowhere around. "Well ossifer I was jus givin it a test drive and ugh ugh I think the accelerator got stuck".![]()

I prefer the Ferrari as well. It's beautiful and really fast. Just wish they'd ditch the spare wheel.![]()
You loved to have an E-Type come in for service! My '68 convertable was one of the most difficult cars to work on that I have ever owned. As a matter of fact, every Jag except the '54 XK-120 was a real pain in the 🤬 to work on...but all were a pure joy to drive.
The Ferrari isn't as good as some would have you believe. It understeers too much and it's also not that quick in a straight line. I definitely don't think it's worth 20 million credits and since it's not a gift car, i wouldn't bother with it
I've only driven the Jaguar xj13, Ferrari p4, corvette c2 race car '63 and the toyota 7.
I love the way the Jaguar handles and sounds. It's definitely the most confidence inspiring and easiest to get the best out of. It turns in very nicely and doesn't have any of the oversteery/wheel spinning chracteristics of some of them. Not to mention it's drop dead gorgeous.

The Corvette is very rapid in straight line but it's got precious little traction. As a result, your lap times will be slower with this car than the other old racers. It can be picked up in the ucd for 700,000 though, so it's very good value.
The Toyota 7 is hilarious to drive. It's acceleration is absolutely astonishing, easily on par with group C and LMP cars. It will spin it's wheels in the first 3 gears and it only has 5! Traction in corners is better than i'd expected but I don't trust it as much as the Jaguar as it will oversteer very easily if provoked.
The Fords and Chapparals look very good and i'm looking forward to getting them, especially the legendary 2J. The soundtracks of the American cars are unrivalled as well.
I'll take the easy way out. *All of them!* Love them all. (As you can see by my avatar.) 👍
There's something special about pre '70s, but it's hard to what.
