Prize Cars in GT5

I just want the prize cars to scale with the level of driving you are doing. I don't want to be able to get my hands on a $200,000 ride in the first 10 races, sell it and buying an uber car, or make one with upgrades right off the bat.

I like the challenge of EARNING everything, the upper tier cars should take a while to get.

-I know we will be importing cars from GT5P and PSP, also no one is making you sell the prize car, but I would just like to see some more balance.

Could you do that before? It all depends on what licenses you have and which car you own. Could you get a $200k car by winning races that used civics and minis before?

In GT4 you can complete the first 10 driving mission and get a DeLorean for free. Tune it a bit and go beat the Capri Rally (Easy), win the Toyota Rally Raid and bam, you have 265,000 cr.

I beat that Capri Rally in a slightly tuned S13, So yes you could.

Prize cars should be interesting with a 1000 car count. I do hope they bring back the prize wheel from GT3 with the silhouetted cars. The game is much more interesting when you don't get cars easily. Mainly if you're like me and just repeat the same race to win and sell a pricey car. I know its cheating. Don't hound me for it. Plus, I think you attempt to augment the cycle of the wheel with the appropriate timing though still with limited success.

Bring back GT3's prize wheel. Might solve some issues.

Ya but as long as the cars are all the same level.

I would probably hope for a prize car relating to the event. for example, if your doing the 24 hours of Le-mans, then you should get a historical Le-mans race car. Same thing with Nurburgring, A GT car for a GT race

This seems a likely idea.👍 But then what do ya reckon we'd get for winning the kart races?

Heh,that doesn't sound as rediculous as it may seem.;)

What I don't want is to be forced to buy a car for a one make race, and then win that same car for winning the championship.

It's completely pointless to be honest.

I just won the 360 Cup and I win... another 360!!?! Why do I need two?

Some ppl like the prize wheel but i did not care for it. I hope the do not bring it back.

Yes,yes I just had the same thing with the Audi TT having started GT3 again.

I've no issues with the prize wheel as a concept. Having the cars around the same value/performance/type of car would make it work for me. I was actually chatting with a mate about this the other day. He suggested that if the prize wheel has, say, 4 cars, then the first four times you do the race, you are guaranteed a different car making it easier to acquire all of them. After that, make it random.

NO KARUSSEL. THANK YOU.
Getting the Ford GT40 was a pain, instead i got a :censored:in Skyline!

I actually prefer the method done in Enthusia (although some aspects would have to be changed). When you won an event in that game, you had a "roulette" of winning one of the 5 opponent cars you just faced (or the only other car if it was a rally). The only issue with that is that there were 6 choices (or 2 in the rally) because Konami decided to give your car as a proverbial "lose a turn" space and you win nothing for your endeavors. It is possible (due to really bad luck) to win only 1 or 2 cars IIRC. It would be nice if PD implemented that for the Endurance and World Cup races, but NOT for the manufacturer cup races (especially if the cars won are exactly the same as the one you used).

Well, the effort spent in winning the ultra-valuable Toyota RSC Raid Rally car was just ridiculous, with a 150+ bhp crap car you can actually win 265,000Cr. and that is something I find quite disappointing, that would mean in Prologue winning Ferrari money, in a C4 race.

But there is a point, a clever system which helped to balance the game back in GT4 were the % limitations for starting the endurance races in GT4 ( 25% ), so if they limit the game to the lesser competitions at the start of the game that would mean it would be harder to grind money and win valuable cars at the beggining of your GT life. On the other side, it would kill the freedom traditionally offered in the series, and I don't think that's a good idea at all.

So, limiting the most valuble cars as prizes for the highest tier championships is the way to go. I quite like the prize roulette idea, and that would be nice, if they aren't totally randomic, winning the same car over and over would be frustrating to the car collector.

Don't get me wrong i am an big GT fan but i really don't want the spinning system in there for the real long races. Only if you can save progress in the very long races or championships and go on with other championships while your 24h races or very long seasons are saved to continue when you like. If this is not the case then al prize cars need to be for sale in shops. It would be a shame to see your dreamcars be locked in races you will never play because they take to long. Not everybody has time to play a game like this for over 2 hours a day.

How is that cheating?!

Cheating is where you gain an advantage by exploiting either a bug or a secret backdoor in the game allowing you to achieve things that would not normally be possible. Repeating the same race over and over in the normal game and selling the prize car each time is not cheating. Boring, yes, but not cheating.

As I often say, play the game however you like, and sod everybody else and their opinions. All that matters is you have fun, because after all, it is just a game - not some religion where life depends on behaving a certain way.

I think it'll be limited to premiums only and therefore quite limited in what can be offered. However, they could offer cars in colours unavailable in the dealership and maybe fit a different set of wheels, so it is at least semi-unique.

If PD have a sense of humour and as a nod to the very first GT, they should at least offer the Mazda Demio as the prize car in one of the first events.;)

Maybe as a GT designed concept, a fully butched up V8-powered Mazda Demio LM edition.:D

I miss the Demio A-Spec and yes it should be able to be tuned to JGTC I'm going to guess GT300 Class standards.

Very true. But the wheel would be a nice turn about, with a few exceptions. No wheel for endurance races and make cars more common. Some were indeed quite difficult to get, but for my style, some sort of prize randomization kept things interesing. Someone had the Enthusia idea but GT rarely rolls out all of its machines for AI use. Good idea though. To each his own.

I never thought of that, the EPR idea is pretty good in my opinion.

The wheel is good if you aren't really caring about what car you will win. The only issue I have is winning cars that are either useless or valueless meaning that its just a plain discard (ala the concept Mazda RX8's).

Yea. I mean I'm also think to still allow the precise timing influence they had in the GT4 Prize wheel. But it has been quite the annoyance that concept and prototype cars have no "value" yet with GT4, when you go to trade cars across memory cards, all prototypes are given a value of $200k. WTF??? A Mazda 6 concept car, should not be equal in price to a VW Nardo W12 Prototype.

Also, it'd be nice if the cars were more elevant to the race., which might also solve that RX8 issue. I mean, for ths stars and stripes race they have one US Prize car, A German a Brit and Japanese? Uhh. . . PD, WTF?

OK, I'm quite worried about the prize cars in GT5. I know there WILL be prize cars from the IB-10 vid, but so far, all the premium Lambos and Mercedeses can be bought at their dealerships. If every single prize car is also for sale, the game won't be much fun for me. So does anyone have more info on this?
