There are 4-5 demo reviews in Italy from leading gaming sites.

They all state the physics are far from pc2, with a tendency to drifting like shift 2.

Career mode is good but there are mixed cars and strange events like gt3 cars in canyon road streets.

Best part are hot laps, one vs one and pace setter events.

At the end of the day it's like grid and they do not understand why.
Grid at least has qualifying.

The sole fact that these racing cars are built upon all those electronic assists as the primary thing to make them drivable definitely means there's something very wrong to them, as apparently they cannot be driven effectively or even driven at all without those.

This isn't necessarily true, many of the pros run them at low settings that aren't invasive. Of course some teams set them up different, and different drivers prefer different settings, but they aren't necessarily always engaged and working their "magic."

Watch this lap... you will notice the TCS only flickers on a few times, mostly because of kerbs or leaping out of the karussell. Even at slower corners like Wehrseifen it doesn't light up.

Main purpose of those FIA regulations was stopping of people dying on track. I agree with you 100 percent how cool racing was, but current generation simply build around safety more than driving factors. It is fan to not die, and have a race, rather then what was back than.

In the case of GT racing it has more to do with the intentions of the class than safety, as there are plenty of classes that don't run driver aids, many of them even faster. GT3 was originally more of an entry level GT class in the ladder where gentleman drivers would run alongside young pros looking to move up, usually in ride-selling operations, so having driver aids helped keep the rich businessmen enjoying themselves and not tearing up equipment which is a positive for everyone involved.

PC2 is not a true to life representation of how a GT3 car drives. Pilots say you cannot turn assists off in these cars without spinning around 24/7. ACC simulates this very well you should try it if you like gt3.

This guy isn't an alien either. Aliens are getting 1:42s and 1:41s.

As others have said, in 2003/4 GT cars had more power than they do today but no TC (or ABS) and gentleman drivers still managed to do 3 hour races without spinning out 24/7.

Who cares? Modern GT3 cars have it, none of us are racing drivers so we can't judge it, if a driver says its needed, who on earth are we to argue with them?

Like David Perel said...they are welcomed, you set them on the fly to make you faster and get maximum out of the car...

At end of the day TC & ABS improve laptimes, that's what's care in racing

Another early red flag for me was when they referred to new (dumbed down) tyre model for “fun” handling!

What is “fun” handling?

I was just reading the comments on Pcars discord, I notice its the same 4 members on there that do all the talking basically knocking down anyone that asks a question or has a complaint. Im guessing that is there echo chamber where those same 4 members keep telling them the game is great. (and its those same 4 members on the official forum too)

I noticed one guy complained over the game having no qualifying and the dev came on and basically told him to go away they down want to hear complaints

I did find it funny over missing features that the same members on there kept telling people "just stick with PCars2 then" and the devs 'liked' that comment. What a good marketing strategy telling people to stick with your old game and not buy the new one lol

Here’s what he said:

"Its starting to feel like this game is one big troll for motorpsort fans, no pitlane, NO Qualifying or private lobbies etc. Even garbage GRID had all that"

"Not adding qualifying in a racing game is pretty big dropping of the ball."

"It wont get jealous over what the sales figures of 3 will be though. I just worry about the environmental impact of all the plastic being used on all those unsold discs"

Doesn’t look like valid criticism, it’s basically just insults.

Games radar preview of the graphics in game, does not sound like much over PC2

"The game is playing well, but still needs tweaking in a few areas - most notably the visuals. Metal bodywork looks more like plastic on many of the cars, and buildings look flat and poorly lit, even in the night races in the newly-added Shanghai streets which should really look amazing given the potential and modern graphics technology. The roads of Tuscany look nice, but again the middle-to-far distance scenery isn’t best-in-class by any means. These screens and the video clips in our preview were taken from a PC running the game on ultra settings for the graphics and effects, with only supersampling dialed low or off to maintain the smooth frame-rate in busy scenes."

sorry but the answer on the environmental impact made me laugh. The game may not have had a very high development cost and a reasonable number of sales is enough for SMS.

@Morbid65 Great info my friend, that's what I'm talking about. Some different GT series my not use those FIA restrictions, like GT300 runing on loose up to everything, except power balance and aero. You'd better try to explain it to people who claims that assistance is necessary for modern GT racing. Still assistance on a low is meaning that it is on.

Other thing that both ABS and TC working on pedals input, and low abs means far more less chance locking at 250, and TC at low means eternally different throttle input. You can avoid any spin outs 24/7 only by being careful, since those assistances ain't magic.

Yup sounds like a game that's only 25 days from release.

Interesting. Had assumed all the footage we’d seen so far was from current gen consoles. I know graphics aren’t the most important factor for many but for me I found PCars 1 looked better on base PS4 than PCars 2.

Really surprised with the direction SMS have gone with PC3. When Ian Bell was teasing us ages ago that the new game would be more ‘fun’ I think I assumed they were keeping the core the same as previous games but made it more accessible for controller players and with a more immersive career mode similar to the F1 games, but at the moment I’m struggling to see why so many essential motorsport features have been removed to make a game that’s more comparable to last years Grid game than its own predecessors.

I’m still curious to try the new game though and willing to give it a chance, but do find some of the development decisions a bit of a head-scratch as more information has been revealed.

I still laugh at this Ian's: "PCars 3 is already 200% better than PCars 2"

xD xD

Yeah I agree with it I'm not suggesting otherwise :D. I find it funny that there's people arguing against it is all.

It's true though.

;)

That said, I'm reserving full judgement until the title is actually out. We've all seen the hyperbole with previous titles, some of the very real issues, but also SMS working pretty hard to release a stream of updates/fixes. Let's see.

New video today, out of the XBox youtube channel.

Video is up on the PlayStation youtube channel as well with the pre order at the end hope i can finally pre order it by tomorrow.

The car and track list is out on the official website:

I can't find any new race cars, just a few new road cars.

As for tracks looks like less, gone are Le Mans, Spa, Monaco and Sakitto (Suzuka)

I can bearly see any new cars there... o_O I hoped that at least car list will be decent, and they really just Re-Leased PCars 2 as arcadey game with less content...

EDIT:

Ok we should wait. It is clearly not final list and they may be just uploading stuff. There is no Mclaren (which is confirmed) and no Corvette C8 road car there.

The new trailer looks like a Chinese imitation of Forza

Nah, the list is incomplete. Even the C8 is not in the list and it's on the box.

Every part of this game is just incompetence. Cant even get the car/track list on their own site correct after going on about it for weeks
Easy to see how they made so many crazy bad decisions

I'm guessing that car list is incomplete, the IndyCar is listed under Chevrolet but not Honda even though we've already seen screenshots of Wickens livery.

The Ignition Pack gets you.

Create your own racing hero and customise your dream car with:
• 10 Unique Liveries
• 20 Decals
• 2 Patterns
• 2 Rims
• 2 Tyres
• 4 License Plates
• 4 Race Numbers
• 2 new characters (male & female) with multiple outfits and helmet designs.

Race numbers are now pay DLC

In the future you'll have to buy each car piece by piece with new pieces added each week.

Wow, looking at the tracklist I believe Le Mans, Spa, Monaco, Sakitto, Mugello, COTA, Fiorano, Leipzig and Brannochbrae are gone, neither do I see any rallycross tracks but i might be wrong there. Instead of a few of the most iconic race tracks on this planet I get Interlagos and a bunch of fictive roads.

If I add this to them taking away qualifying, tyre wear, fuel usage, pit stops and maybe more stuff that we haven't seen yet I can only conclude that this game has about nothing to do anymore with the first two iterations. With every new update i see about this game more of the game I like has been taking away and unfortunately for me the new 'features' add zero value.

I really hope for SMS that a lot of the people that enjoy Forza and Gran Turismo give this a try but I can't see more than 10 percent of the user base of PC2 buy this game (within half a year of release, and I only add this because more people might pick it up at a severe discount)
