So I'm swinging by this thread because just now on N4G there's an article posted about SMS publicly saying they'd like to find investors for a PS4 version of Project Cars.
I think people at SMS are over-looking the obvious answer. WHich is the VAST Gran Turismo fanbase occupying the PlayStation Network who are DYING to play PCars, and looking for something new to hold them over till GT6 which is this Fall the earliest. Well......turn to Sony and those active digital consumers to fund a PS4 version of the game. Set it up with Sony so people can pay $10 out of their PSN wallet which gives them the same kind of Beta PC investors get with the weekly updates influenced by the investor feedback. And for that $10 investment they get a season pass for all PCars DLC for their choice of PS3 or PS4 version of the game.....or something like that.
I think it's the perfect idea because SMS's biggest problem is their console control quality. They've got their wheel/PC controls down pretty much (aside from the magnetic walls issue which I'm still seeing in videos lingering from Shift2), but based on the mag-walls still being there, I bet their console input lag/delay issues are still around as well..... Well who better to have test and work out the problems with console controller issues in a realistic racing game than the demographic who knows that particular thing better than any other? That's the GT fanbase.
And we're free until Fall at least, so if they could fast-track something like this with Sony to start by the end of June. I have a feeling MASSIVE numbers of PlayStation gamers would love to support something like this, probably raising millions,....... and it's also one of these new, crazy, indie inspired ideas Sony has been loving to support lately.
I'm curious what other people think of the idea and it's plausability. And also, if anyone here who is active on the SMS forums thinks it would be a good enough idea to bring up on their forum (which I have no access to), I'd love for them to consider the idea and feel free to use it, and ofr them to contact someone at Sony ASAP about the idea.
