I never said AC was better because it was harder but it does seem PCars is a lot more forgiving if you make a mistake compared to it's rivals.

Well, you said PCARS is more casual than the others, which indeed means "worse" in simracer language. :D

On the endurance cars, are there functioning leader lights on the sides of the cars? Pre purchased my Steam copy today. Very much looking forward to it being downloadable.

Unfortunately not..

PCars does seem aimed towards the casual market but that doesn't make it less realistic or worse. I played Project CARS at a friends house a while back and I found it more forgiving than the PC sims I have played but that doesn't make it worse than AC or rF2. In fact, I prefer PCars to AC, even if AC is more realistic.

Sure, governments and politicians never lie. All they do want to do is to serve the nation :)

Yeah, and every post he's making on the WMD forums is just there to keep us believing he likes the game and he never posts something he doesn't like. Oh wait...

Ok but now for the handling.. There's nowhere near enough downforce or stability at high speed and the car wants to spin on the straights if you turn the steering wheel. That's not right - no Supercar behaves that way. I think we somehow need to adjust the model to allow downforce to build as the speed rises in order to prevent this. (The McLaren F1 has a similar issue)

At low speed I think the car could do with a bit more grip and heavier steering to warn you of the pending understeer if you enter a corner too quickly.

Please keep your "They're paid, so their opinion doesn't mean s**t" simracer attitude for yourself. Thanks.

just to add to the debate, how many of you have drive a race car on a track on the limit?

I don't... but a friend of mine drives in competition (and even won a FIA race series). His feedbacks on racing simulations are very interesting, especially on the fact that sim racers tend to oversimplify their perception of racing games quality with the below formula:
hard to drive , oversteer , lack of grip , instability = realism

I will test Project Cars with him soon.
From my perspective, SMS may have found a sweet spot between Gran Turismo (honestly, too much grip, especially after tuning the cars) and "Holiday on Ice" simulations.

Exactly. But I do think PC sims like AC and rF2 may be better "simulators" than PCars. PCars is like a casual sim as I see it, with it being a bit less complicated and easier to learn than the big PC sims.
So I take it your a WMD member?

There are people (drivers) advertising the game and there is The Stig and Nicolas Hamilton (Lewis' brother) who help to develop it and release a 400 page physics feedback document ;)

Edit: look here: http://www.virtualr.net/project-cars-driver-feedback-compilation-released

How about reading the document first before jumping to conclusions?

That document includes all the feedback of the handling consultants. Not just to good ones.

Fellas, relax. As a fan waiting for the game, I'd briefly read the physics document awhile back and I'm not questioning PCARS physics in anyway and even if I read the entire document who am I to argue without even having a hands on the game nor am I qualify to do so like many of us here. I'm not attacking the game in anyway as I'm one of many who are waiting for the game and believe it will be amazing.

I'm just simply amazed with these statements...
Top gear's ex-Stig thinks it's realistic. That's good enough for me.

If any real racing driver thinks it's realistic, then it's more then good enough for me.

… nevermind. Let's move on before this turning into another GT thread

Already posted this in the Video Thread but as this thread is very active i've put it here too!! :) Alan from TeamVVV has just tweeted saying that at 4pm BST an 'extensive' PCARS video will appear...... and then every day this week!! Sounds promising!!! Maybe he's going to start the build up before release!! :)

Is this corner cutting feature the announcement? Also, will there be a way to disable the feature? It is quite unrealistic compared to real life where you could get a time or drive through penalty.

Yeah, sorry. I overheated a bit because I've read this constant bashing of Ben and Nic too often. :D

Hi everyone. Ever since I see that Lotus 49 going around old spa a couple of years ago I've been waiting to play this game.I've stayed off the forum because the hype was to much. Anyway some rumours that P Cars will run at 900p 60 frames on Xbone and 1080p 60 frames on PS4 does anyone know if this is true?

I believe that's what SMS are trying to achieve.

You won't be racing at old Spa at release, you might want to check out the FAQ on there website, it's been updated recently
Well, that's good. I prefer to race at modernised tracks instead of old ones.

as long as they hit a solid 60fps then 900p is completely acceptable. if the PS4 is 1080 but less stable it'll be disappointing.

Agree. As long as they don't compromise the PS4 version by trying to get the XONE version running at an optimal framerate, then I'm sure there will be satisfaction on both sides.
