Is the Sierra Cosworth RS 500 in the game? If so 2WD or 4WD version?? Also if the 1991 or thereafter model M3 or Mercedes Evo is in the game that would be epic.

As far as im aware the RS500 was only produced in rear wheel drive by Ford The 4x4 came a lot later and was only available in the saphire 4 door saloon. many people ripped the gear train from the saphire and put it in the hatch back. And used mainly in the rally world.

May have been mentioned before but how will best lap times be done? Because what I want to do is take every car and try and set a time and am wondering if there is an offline leaderboard where the time I set are recorded and can be saved.

There will be a day one patch of course. SMS will not sit on their hands in the Weeks between submit to the presswork and release day.
Yes, basically. This is why day one patches are common in the first place. Be it additional polish, bugfixes, or just extra content, there is a lot of stuff you can do in the 2-4 weeks it takes from you have to send the game it to printing until the game gets to the end users. Not going to work during this time isn't a good idea :p.

Unless there are massive problems with the game, day one patches are actually a good thing. Gamers get the game a few weeks earlier, and the developer can use their time more efficiently.

4th from left is a man. sorry to disappoint you guys.
I'm not disappointed :3

When you enter free practise/time trail you will see your current fastest lap for the chosen track/car combination right now.

Better than 1 less!! :D Someone said here that SMS may have to rely on word of mouth of the public to premote the game, as it's the first real hardcore sim on console.... But surely the game is much awaited, and will sell well, no?

I think the game can do well if it can appeal to the casual gamer. If SMS can offer 100+ cars (via DLC?) and more entertaining offline mode (eg. better than GT6). I don't consider myself to be a sim racer and I'm excited for PCars based on what I've learned from this forum and PCars site. I found this forum when I became bored and frustrated by GT6. This may be good time for SMS to strike while the iron is hot (eg. GT is not hot).

So we have a lot of time to advertise pcars on this forum :D

I think the offline mode is a lot more entertaining because all you do in Gt6 is, take a car and drive 3-5 laps on various tracks while passing some obstacles. The fun comes with close racing and with the adjustable AI, you will always have close racing in pcars. Also, with consecutive championships season after season you can actually feel the progress you are doing. When you finally end up with an invitation for the 24h of LeMans by Team Audi it feels like you really achieved something.

Exactly! Well put!

Something i have just realised.... The game is currently on build 980, therefore in 20 working days, the 8th of May, the game will reach build 1000....... Could it be the game will release at least on PC via digital download with build 1000 on the 7th/8th May, whereas the boxed PC and console versions will be a build more or less from this week (build 980 from the 10th of April says in the notes: ''''Corrected MP browser full and closed filters for publish builds, and ''''Tweaks to AI scaling in series to balance correctly after final physics/AI-tyres tuning''' (Maybe they are now starting the printing process for disc versions, hence 'PUBLISH BUILDS' AND 'FINAL PHYSICS')........ And when we stick the game in the PC/PS4/XboxONE for the first time, an update/patch will download automaticaly as per usual, bringing the game up to build 1000? Therefore it could well be May 7th/8th as given for release!!!! :)

I'd make sense for them to release the game at build 1000, any build afterwards could be DLC/Patch Updates and continue onwards as Build 1001+

Build won't magically stop at 1000 there'll be more and more builds once released leading up to dlc which needs to be tested. It's just whether that testing is done in house or with the wmd community as is now

A build number is just an incremental implentation of the software at that point. it would be bad design practice to suddenly change the definition of a pCARS 'build' to have the finishing build end up at a nice round number. Makes sense from a numerical stand-point, not from a software engineering stand-point.

I'm very curious how the release date will sync with the build numbers. I've been watching this progress since 4xx builds and to correlate initial release version with the 1000th build is quite a coincidence, if you believe in those...

Right now were sorta in drought regarding PCARS info, I guess we should just wait a few more days until TeamVVV (Alan) comes out with that gameplay he's working hard on and was talking about regarding console gameplay on both the consoles.

It is quite interesting that we are yet again one month away from release and not much info has been shed on console versions.

Outside of less cars on track, the lack of livery editor at release, and slightly lower graphic settings, the PC and console versions are identical.

Indeed. There is only so much info they can give out. At a certain point, you have said everything that there is to say about a version of the game. We know the features, the resolution, the fps, the car count... I would be very, very surprised if any of those changed since the last delays.

Does anyone know if there a way of having a ghost in free practice for hotlapping, please?
Not sure as I haven't played it BUT since pretty much every track racer has ghost cars during hot laps, I'm sure PCars will.

I think the grid sizes will be identical on all versions except perhaps Le Mans offline on PC may have in the 50's as opposed to 45 on console and it's higher in mp too.
