Mods are one of the advantages of pc gaming. Mods are hit and miss though in terms of visual quality, physics and functionality and updates are usually rather slow.
I do agree, mods are hit and miss. But, some of my favorite cars and tracks in GSCE and rFactor 2 are mods, so it is worth the time to uncover the gold.

True, but you can't say that the lambo, Cadillac, Lexus and the corvette don't turn you on a little bit!
I'll wait for the reviews. Lots of mods I tried in AC had terrible physics. If it doesn't feel like it should I don't want to drive it. I also won't support mods that are ripped from other games without permission, its akin to theft IMO. Note: not making any reference to mods mentioned in this thread.

Mods in Pc gaming are only as good as the builders capabilities and time spent building them, some are fantastic, others are horrendous,

Agreed. It's a bit like buying a Premier League shirt in a Spanish resort that's made by polystyrene and doesn't have the Nike badge on, with a crappy crest. It doesn't look good and feels uncomfortable to wear.

I just have to say, I have not played pcars since maybe late may. (Witcher 3 took a lot of time) anyway, I decided to get pcars updated and when doing so I thought I'll check the dlcs to see what's going on there. I had never bought dlc for any game ever before and oh boy how happy am I that I got the limited edition upgrade. The sauber Mercedes has got to be the scariest sounding car I have ever heard! I feel I may loose quite a bit of my life again.

Sound is not bad, but there are more awesome sounding cars in the game.
But I just did my first race in career mode with it (using clutch and H-shifter).
BIG FUN racing these classics around Brno track

Edit: typo...

Hi Fanapryde,
In your opinion, Which cars have the absolute best sound, I want to take a listen to them.

Starting to get pretty fed up with this game now I have reached formula A. My season so far (AI at 90% and 100% race length)

Race 1: Dubai (disqualified after 40 laps for track cutting while most cuts were caused by ai drivers pushing me off the track)
Race 2: Hockenheim (Out of fuel after 55 laps of 67 because default settings do not give you enough fuel for a full race)
Race 3: Spa: (Won the race without problems)
Race 4: Zhuhai (Thunderstorms made car undriveable on track I didn't knew while ai flew over the track. Rage quit after a few restarts)
Race 5: Monaco (Could not find a setup to be compatitive with a.i which also constantly rammed me off track. Rage quit)
Race 6: Spain (Led till lap 40 after pitstop AI is suddenly in control (didnt swap driver) and DQs himself after 3 laps for trackcutting trying to lap a car... No pit button mapped so could not pull him back in...)
Race 7: Brno (Won race without problems)
Race 8: Silverstone (Lead the race, starts raining at lap 10 switch to raintires which are burned up by lap 30. Switch to inters after finding the ai much quicker than me on raintires. Problem during the pitstop which put me back in 11th. Track suddenly bonedry so have to pit again for slicks (ai still blasting trough on inters I think). Back in 20th position. Finally gaining back places due to AI finally pitting and then DQed 5 laps from the end for cutting the track).
Race 9: Nurburgring (led for 40 laps when pitting. AI takes over again!! Having the pit button mapped I schedule but AI refused to come in. DQ-ed himself on lap 55 of 60!!)
Race 10: Imola (have pole and have not started the race)

If I calculate all the wasted hours I have probably wasted about 8 hours on this ****. The bug that AI driver is taking over even when not chosing swap driver and is not coming in when requesting a pit stop is that a known issue? really ruining the game for me atm. I also have to change the TC and fuel settings every race because they are reverted. Have not experienced any of these things in the previous seasons in career.

No way this was tested before realease.

I feel your pain.

Never heard of that. May be a good idea to report it on the official forums. I'm sure your painful to read Season recap will also get some attention.

Don't get angry if your Race reports get challenged by other users or a developer. They (devs) do this not to mock you but to get to the core of the problem.

If you don't want to do go there, i can understand that too

I'm a software developer myself so I know how hard it is to find the cause of certain bugs. I'm also a pretty patient person :) The first time it happened I thought I pressed the wrong option but after that it happened again while being extra carefull selecting the correct close button.

If I can find the time I will post it on the official forums. Is there a specific section for this kind of things there? I have not visited the official forums apart from topics linked from GTplanet.

I've put about 50 hours into this game so far, and after having battled with the AI myself and watched others attempt Formula A I decided it would be more prudent to go the LMP1 route rather than the FA route.

The game has so many bugs and problems that getting to it is pretty nightmarish, the never ending karting battles, of which I struggled with 70% AI, then going to GT3 where at 80% I was winning everything by miles (bar practice sessions ofc where the AI would be some 7+ seconds faster than me).
Then I got into Le Mans, qualified 5th and won by almost a lap, the pace of the AI makes zero sense, I can be seconds off the pace and then in the race win with ease.
I now have the AI to 90% and won the LMP2 Pan Asia series without an issue, I won all but one race due to starting p20 for some reason?

But driving in the wet seems totally broken, in a Prototype I can go from p10-1 in a few corners when everyone is on slicks and it's raining and the track is wet. But in a GT car if the track is wet I get lapped, and that's with the AI turned down...

But the car handling is brilliant and battling online with other LMP1's round Le Mans is serious fun, after 50 odd hours I still can't work out if I like this game or not...

Done some TTs today and track limits are still way off, we have wall riding at Bathurst and huge cuts at Monza. So yet again we don't have true leaderboards, it a 🤬 joke. So if track limits ever get sorted will the cheat times be removed?

Why dose this have to happen over and over again, do SMS not learn from mistakes of previous titles or do they just not care about fair play for all! im sure it's the latter.

Still the best racer by far but it's so disappointing in other ways, a bit like SHIFT2 really

I was racing a Formula B race and on the last two corners, I took three back markers.

Then I just mind my own business, got the win and guess what? The back markers got podium finish

Seriously...
I've found that if you let the other cars finish the race before you press continue the order finishes up correct .

I had the opposite happen once. Was in the Tri-nations 1000 series at Silverstone. Bad race with horrible weather...was 10th in class...crossed the line and finished 3rd. :odd:

I just destroyed the AI in the rain on 90% difficulty in LMP1. It's funny because before patch 2.0 they will pull off on me and now it's the opposite. Won by 18 sec. But I'm still disappointed though. Go to the career thread to read the reason why:(

How do I tell which tyres my pit guys are putting on? During career mode I've been stopping for mandatory tyres, but on some dry races I'm not sure they give me slicks because 3 corners after I pit the front tyres (in the Clio) are already red.

Basically, is there a way to check I'm getting the correct tyres after I pit?

When you're in pit lane, but before you reach your pit box, select edit your pit strategy and you can set it.
