Ooooh, is pCARS a DX11, windows vista, 7, 8 game only or is it also compatible with XP?

AC isn't!

DX9 compatible yeah.

Thanks. That'd be cool if they did. I normally hate these things, but, is there a way to put myself on some sort of email notification list, or waiting list so I know that if it is open again, I'll know when?

Jerome

Not that I know of, no. Just periodically check this thread I guess, I'm sure they will announce anything in enough time for you to see and prepare.

For sure, will be within hours announced here if the gates open again :) I personally do still believe they will.

Does anybody have an updated list of this game's car list? The OP hasn't been touched since November. Just wondering how many new cars have been added since them.

Video showing in detail the new Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X '12 (WIP), that has been added in build 432. The video also includes a lap and replay in the Zhuhai International Circuit.

And another video of a new car that has been added in build 432, the Ford Mustang Boss 302R1 '13 (WIP). The video also includes a lap and replay in Laguna Seca.

@chromatic9, congrats for the video, is fantastic. 👍

Great videos Adrian. I liking the Evo X FQ the most. 👍

They added quite a few. They have done the E30 M3, M3 GT2/3s, BMW M1, M3 GT4, Renault Megane GT, RUF RGT-8 991, SLS AMG C197, Focus RS and now it's the Lancer Evo X FQ (UKDM or EUDM Evolution) plus the Mustang Boss 302R1. If you want to know about the road cars.

They also have some F1s already up and some LMPs. They are getting a few more soon.

The Boss 302R is awesome. Only one thing I would say needs to be is to make the exhaust note just a little bit more aggressive.

Thanks. I use a GTX 580 1.5GB.

The rest don't matter although I use a i7 930, 6gb DDR3

Didn't they make a 2 & 4Gb version of the 580? and why wouldn't you went for more ram? I use to run 2 GTX 570's in SLI mode but had the occasional freeze in another well known racing sim.

Then I sold those and purchased 2 GTX 670's and run those in SLI and it is bullet proof. I also run Fraps and take the odd still or video. BTW your images are pretty much the best I have seen from pCARS.

I can't even install PCars atm, keeps locking up on install after downloading all the patches. RF2, raceroom and IRacing all hang too after 15-20 mins of play. I have re-installed but no joy, don't know what is going on, I think it is GFX card or CPU fan but i'm not sure :(

I'll probably just replace both and hope for the best.

If they happen to reopen the registration, could someone please send me a PM. I missed out by about a week, as I was waiting for my new laptop to come in.

Speaking of which, I thought it might be best to put my specs up, to see if I'll be able to run the game.

Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition:
Windows 8
Intel® Core™ i7-3632QM (6MB cache, up to 3.2Ghz)
8GB3 Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M 2GB

Hopefully that will be good enough to run the game, though I highly doubt it will be at the highest graphics.

Don't expect medium either, Project CARS is very demanding. Even my desktop with a GTX 670 struggles to push 60fps maxed at times, so expect much, much less from a laptop with a mid-range graphics chip ;)

No, third party vendors made 3gb versions which were much more expensive and rare at the time.

2gb isn't enough for me, I'm waiting for the next run of graphic cards. I wouldn't dream of sli 570s. 1.25 gb only, as you've found is a bad move.

I'm sitting on my hands waiting for new GPUs too. The 6970 isn't cutting it any more in pCARS.

There is this little thing called money. If you don't have it you can't spend it.
Precisely... Besides, unless you're exceeding 1920x1080, going for SLI seems to be overkill, either way. My 680 runs everything maxed out and even gets close to maxing out Crysis 3. Unless you're running benchmarks or don't know what to do with your chash, it would seems like there's little point in going to such lenghts.

Plus, going from a 580 to 600-series GPU wouldn't be much of a leap ahead - despite the 600s being based on a new architecture, so, yeah, perfectly sensible decision there 👍 I, for one, will probably wait for the 800-series GPUs before I upgrade again - unless the 700-series is much faster than the current GPUs.

Hm, I don't know Project CARS too well, but I'd assume that your graphics card might be bottle necking you... :indiff:

Indeed it was a bad move, oh well, another lesson learned. Well how about nVidia's new Titan? the 7xx series has been released. After the 3rd parties release (eventually) prices will start coming down. I would be interested in seeing how many FPS it would run pCARS.

It's been said before but please remember, pCARS is basically not optimised at all yet. Performance will get better towards the end of the project when all of the key features are in and some proper optimisation work begins. As it is now whenever a new feature is added we take a large FPS hit because it's not optimised.

In other words don't base your GPU purchase on the FPS performance of pCARS at the moment.

I think most members do realize this. Any card I have run I get in the neighborhood of 60 FPS and that's with triple HDTV's. I expect to do 2 1/2 times that once everything is optimized. This will be on par with other games, although pCARS may have more assets and we might not see that much of a gain, time will tell. :)

I've heard SSD drive instead of HDD hard disk is they way to go for powerful PC's because the HDD being mechanical could bottleneck. The SSD being a chip is faster. How many of you have SSD?
