PS3 3D June update/GT5 same day?

Gotta be honest, I do like the sound of this.

Even if I don't really believe it.

I've always believed the date will be a date that can be found on the dash of a specific Alfa Romeo on GT5P, which is close to your June

So people really think that GT5 will get shown in both 2D and 3D during June 15-17 at E3, and then they will announce that it will be on the shelves by the end of the month? Never say never, but the chances...highly unlikely.

As for the day-one lineup of 3D PS3 games, expect to see 3D versions of Wipeout HD, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, PAIN, and Super Stardust HD.

I don't think the author implied that GT could be a day one game for 3D. This second sentence was just outlining other games that have been heavily rumoured to be 3D capable.

Other titles that have either been officially announced or heavily rumored include Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and Gran Turismo 5.

Heavily rumored.

Heavily rumored to support 3D, not to be released in june.
I don't see where the article states the release of those games will be on the same day as the 3D update...

Edit: Beaten by Forgetful :)

Interesting. Anyone here downloaded that PSN program called "Qore"? I downloaded it (episode 23)and watched the portion about 3d and the games it shows while talking about the TVs coming out are:

Killzone 2
Wipeout Fury HD
Gran Turismo 5
LittleBIGPlanet
Super Stardust HD

Sony pretty much said to ignore that montage...and although GT5 3D is almost a certainty,it probably won't be at launch.

They did? When exactly? Do you have a link to the article where they said it?

“That last feature included interviews, footage from CES 2010, and a brief montage of SCEA titles intended as examples of what 3D gaming might encompass. It is hard to do justice to just how amazing 3D gaming looks in a 2D presentation—even in an HD product such as Qore.

However, as we wanted to give our viewers an idea of the possibilities that 3D gaming has to offer, we decided to use stock footage of several first-party games that were on display at the show, including Killzone 2 (a 3D version of the television commercial was shown at CES).

Unfortunately, our feature did not make it clear that the 2D game footage was included for demonstration purposes only. We apologize for the erroneous inference that 3D versions of LBP, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 or Super Stardust HD are in production.”

So it appears 1up.com have missed out on the VG247 article about Sony confirming Killzone won't go 3D.

Well Sony aren't saying they won't go 3D, Sony just won't confirm that they're in production. I think most expect KZ2/3 and GT5 amongst others to go 3D...but in GT5's case, I personally just don't see it happening in time for June.

I think the game is finished ... but because 3d etc we have to wait a little bit more ,but its no problem
~summer we have the game
3D and whatever may have some bearing on things, but if you think everybody in PD is now sat on their backsides doing nothing at all on GT5... The game is being developed/finalised/tweaked, and will continue to be until the game has gone gold. Only then will the game be reasonably considered finished, and even after that things could change.

Thats basically one theory I can't help but think is the most possible scenario as to why its taken abit of time. The fact that they've shown a 3d version of GT5 at CES just makes this all the more susceptible.

Little off-topic on my end, but I just noticed that apparently, the "Concept Trailer 2" was apparently shown at CES before it was put on the GOW III disc and eventually made available through GT TV and PSN.

I will second that.
Even in the tiny posiblity that they have finished it and are wating for 3d they will be using the time to make any modifacations to avoid needing patches and the case of we have the time so why not use it.
