If I am not wrong , IGN was the first to complain about the L2/R2 triggers. many people play the hell of of the PS3 at TGS and other events and they hardly had any negative feel about the triggers. Furthermore, dudes on IGN, sometimes they just:ouch: ....I mean they had Motor Storm media format as CD, release day is : Eu only. It took them one week after I let them know to fix that childish mistake.👎

But that is still 8 months more time than they usually put into ports.

Well, the textures are better.

The lighting is better.

The animation is better.

And it certainly moves facial poly's a lot better.

So, regardless of how long they've worked on it, it's much better than the 360 version, and far outshines many 360 games. I'd even go as far to say that the character models on this look better than GoW.

You guys don't see the symbolism in the ps3 ad? The kids are on their roofs with backpacks on because they're going to camp out, but they first need to try and spot the gamestop with the shortest line.

I thought they were waiting for a sign from God (Sony). Oh look, they did!

Err.... I'm kind of with Solid Lifters. That Wii ad made cute girls look revolting. :p

"Hi! I'm a Wii! Like a GameCube abut a teeeensy bit more powerful, and just as bright!" Gah.

No mention on cost, but I'm willing to bet, at a minimum, it will be around the same price as Wii, or XBLA games, between $5 and $15.

Honestly, we'll get ripped off for some titles, which will be $15 I'm sure (think FF titles, or RE etc). Then for other titles, probably around $5. I think most will be between $5 and $10.

On another note, I think the red is release dates for games...that's a lot of games (in Japan).

Devil May Cry 4 to become multiplatform?

Following impressive sales figures, thanks in large part to the success of Dead Rising which is nearing it's millionth unit sold - CapCom have taken the decision to make RE5 as expected, and now Devil May Cry for multiple next gen consoles! Good to see they appreciate the support they have from the 360. I doubt we will see a simultaneous release of DMC, but we will see it for the 360

CapCom posted: 'In addition to the Xbox 360, which has already been released, PlayStation 3 (hereinafter PS3) and Wii will be introduced in the fall of 2006 Although these new game consoles will be capable of offering new ways of playing games and breathtaking graphics, there is some fear that profitability will be diminished due to high development costs of these highly advanced systems. In view of the anticipated market growth beginning in 2007, we have initiated the development of several new titles including the latest in the Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series intended for next-generation game consoles.

Capcoms platform strategy is to introduce multi-platform products in order to increase sales, thereby maximizing profit. We will also invest aggressively in the development of software for next-generation game systems. Multiple titles are being developed already, including the latest titles of the Resident Evil and the Devil May Cry series'

Very interesting...

Well :)
But at the same time, the 360 has been pretty good to you guys as well. Are we going to see some more cross-platform games?

Well certainly you will see us support multiple platforms. Resident Evil 5, for example, that’s on 360 and PS3. And I think that’s a good example of the future direction of where the company is going because we’re further along with our time line now for DMC4.

So Devil May Cry is coming to Xbox 360?

No, I was just saying, I mean, [RE5 is] a good indicative example of where we’re going in the future because RE5 is [coming] after DMC4. And we have announced that.

DMC4 will NOT go multiplatform...this has been said time and time again.

The chances of that happening are about as slim as MGS4 on 360.

"Itsuno also shared some details on how the game is tapping the power of the PS3. The visuals attempt to deliver a satisfying feel of being in the air. Nero's right arm actions are, according to Itsuno, something that could not be done on current machines and only on the PS3"

read up on the bluRay technology; this is the [partial] reason for extra development time - the discs can hold like .. 25 GIGS of information... therefore, in theory, the games can be huge, or you can put a movie or 2 on a single disc.

25 gig single layer disc, 50 for dual. :)

(plus development for much more)

Yes, at least for PS3 games, and BD recording. 100GB and even 200GB BD discs are certainly possible.

The max for pre-recorded movies was speced at 50GB. However, even a 50GB BD disc is capable of storing several hours of HD video using either MP-4 or VC-1. 👍

Microsoft could barely contain its glee at being able to confirm exclusive downloadable content for next year's Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV - but PS3 fans need not fear, as it seems the Sony release is also firmly in line to receive its very own dazzling additions.

According to a source close to Rockstar North, the team is working on exclusive supplemental content for both systems, which will be made available for download via Microsoft and Sony's respective online services after the game's release next year.

In case you missed it, Microsoft revealed at X06 that Xbox 360 owners will get "exclusive access to two downloadable, epic episodes of GTA IV via Xbox Live, each with hours of entirely new gameplay and available only on Xbox 360 just months after the release of the title".

We're told to expect much the same deal on PS3, except unique to the platform. Interestingly, the downloadable content, our source maintains, will take the form of brand new areas which will link into the main GTAIV game world.

"Think of the world as a large island - the new downloadable areas will be like smaller islands linking into it," the source explained. (Which is a structural analogy, rather than a suggestion that the game is set on an island, we hasten to add.)

How many additional areas or episodes Rockstar is planning is anyone's guess at this juncture, but it seems the game is at least being structured to accommodate a number of expansive new content releases in the weeks and months after release, while also satisfying platform holder - and console owner - demand for exclusive material.

Though with 'exclusive' being a somewhat elastic term these days, especially where Grand Theft Auto is concerned, we wouldn't be remotely surprised if you end up playing 'exclusive' 360 episodes on your PS3, and vice versa. One thing's for sure - there's nothing more certain to piss off the fanboys than a level playing field.

No formal response from Rockstar at the time of writing. But, as ever, don't expect official word until they're good and ready.

Grand Theft Auto IV is scheduled to release on Xbox 360 and PS3 in the US on 16th October 2007, with Europe getting hold of it just three days later.

Uh...Peter Moore, now what?;)

GTA4 won't be out untill later 2007, you should be able to get a PS3 by then.
I really doubt that GTA4 will be out for PS2/Xbox

www.eurogamer.net have an interesting article about the PS3 Online. May not be all new info but considering how sites like eurogamer have tended to be critical of Sony it's positive news. As long as it's reliable, of course.

Oh well, that's what happens when you have work and a social life...not enough time to peruse message boards!
