VIPERGTSR01I will be buying a PS3 purely for GT series and GTA series.
If you are into racing there is a lot more... Enthusia, Kaido Battle, Battle Gear, Shutokou Battle, Colin McRae Rally just to mention a few....

:shrugs:Max_DCReally depends on your favorite genres. Fps, mmorpg's for example are well represented on PC, other genres aren't... jump n'runs, beat'em up's, japanese style rpg's, racing games : best games of these genres are on consoles... upgradability is an advantage ??? haha, just buy every new console and you have new hardware every 1-2 years... full compatibility included![]()

RaghavanI prefer a PC, and instead of buying a new console everytime it comes out and spending 400+ bucks, just use that to upgrade your computer, and you've still got new hardware each time.
Besides, with the Xbox 360's controller being USB, you can use that for all your games.
But playing COD2 on the PC is much easier than on the XBOX 360. The keyboard is more spread out, and with the controllers, i end up hitting the wrong buttons mutliple times.
Do it one thing at a time. Buy RAM and a a Graphics card one year, the motherboard and processor the next time a console it out. And consoles don't come out every 2 to 3 years. Besides, i got my Ram, GPU, and motherboard and processor for less than $600, so i don't know where you got the $2000 from.Max_DCWell, what does it take to buy new Ram, new grafic card new motherboard new everything every 2 or 3 years ? 2000 bucks? the price can't be the reason.
Concerning Cod2...it works perfect with the pad, you just need to get used to it...
( btw I also play on PC, for example 160 hours BF2 )
There are tons of good games for the PC. Who cares if i can't play GT4? There is a great selection of games on the PC.LaBountitroll?. you add nothing to the topic and this could have been clipped into to just about any topic about games. Thats nice that you have your opinion. But anyone who likes video games and knows the ins and outs of them wouldn't say pc gaming is the way to go. You are forgetting the number one thing, the games. Consoles have far better games than pc.
All you talk about is hardware and not games.
KENJIusaguys, please come back to the topic, this is THE NEW PS3 thread, not PC hardware, pc games, COD2 or Xbox 360 thread.
While I agree with the rest of your post or understand your opinion regarding cost, this statement is well off. most PC games are completely free to play online, mmorpgs are the only ones where you pay for them and I was under the impression that you did on consoles as well. Theres no fee to play any pc game I own online be it GTR, LFS, CoD2, BF2, BF2:SF ect, they're all free to play. I'd say 95%+ of PC games you can play online are free to do so. It's this reason I've never bothered to pay the extra subription fee from an ISP to get a console connected.tha_conALSO. it is very important to note that most PC games, when played online, require a subscription (MMORPG's) or other services. Even in the case of the 360, it is more affordable to pay the once a year XBL fee, or no fee with Playstation online.
Exactly. 👍 Isn't this comparing apples & oranges? If you are talking about how PC gaming is superior to console gaming, I think you are missing the whole point of console gaming. If either PC or consoles are not for you, that's fine. It's really up to you, ins't it? I dont' think one's better than the other. Apples & oranges.live4speedConsoles are like the cheap and cheerful way of gaming imo, you just pop the disk in and away you go, no installing, no setting up, no tweaking the graphics for optimum performance on your system. Personally I like playing games on my PC and my console, the PS3 could be the console to take gaming away from the PC for a long time for someone like me with the potential it has.
LaBountiIts not the lack of buttons but the untested grounds if such games will sell. Too risky to put games out no one wil be interested by its listed content. These sim games are played by people who have been playing them for a long time. It's a territory that hasnt been tried on consoles and if they have they failed.
VIPERGTSR01Yes, but if Microsoft were to release MS Flight simulator to Xbox360 where would they fit all this onto the controller
* pics with many buttons*
And as for Richard Hubby, boy he likes to talk up alot of ****, the way he says it sounds like Im overhearing it from some Xbox fanboy in a games store.
Max_DC( Note : these games are realistic, just not as many buttons etc... that's like saying that Gran Tusrismo on PC would be a DOZEN times better, just because you can adjust the radio in your car and turn down the the windows by pushing a special button... ok... when I think about it... would be kind of cool indeed)
Max_DCNice to see. I really hope that they can achieve all that... And while I like their idea of using the cell in many products, I'd like to see some PS3 games - playable demos to be precise....
tha_conDidn't I already go over why there aren't any? It's business, not because there aren't any. It's just for business purposes, I'm sure there are many games right now (I'd say at least 6) that are playable to an "enjoyable" extent, meaning they aren't just buggy engine's and test builds. But, they won't be seen until CES or later.
Max_DCYeah, but I said I want to SEE them. The fact that they probably exist, doesn't help me a lot. I play videogames for many years, I have over a dozen consoles, many of them directly from Japan and a few hundred original games. I read many game magazines both online and on paper and I go to university. So don't you talk to me like a mother to a silly school boy
I'll import the PS3 from Japan anyway as soon as it will be released, but I can't wait to see if there are differences between Xbox360 and PS3 concerning grafics and number of moving objects etc.
Next point : launch lineup... there should be a lot of japanese games for a japanese release, but most previewed games I've seen were from the US/EU.
So what can we expect ? A new ridge racer ? a kind of GT 5 Prologue ? A new Kessen or Golf Paradise ? Tekken 5 Tag Tournament ?
I say it again, I understand the policy of Sony, but I don't like to wait....![]()
tha_conSorry if I offended you, it wasn't my intent
But anyway, Sony is just focusing on selling PS2's and PSP's during the holiday seasons, them showing off the PS3 would take away from those potential sales greatly. But Jan is going to be a bit month, so just wait and see for all the new info. Q1 2006 as a whole should be very interesting and full of info. Within the first half of 2006 we'll know more launch titles, the price, and have seen playable Demo's (at E3 for sure).
