o PS3 Price: $399

o PS3 Launch Date: Between May and June of 2006. US following after with a Oct 2006, and EU with a slightly delayed Jan/Feb 2007 :(

o PS3 Launch Titles:

JPN: Tekken Title (Tag is unlikely IMO, more than likely it'll be Tekken 5 Dark Ressurection), Possibly a Ridge Racer, two RPG's, and a few other titles (3 max).

US: Tekken, Ridge Racer, Unreal Tourney, Madden, Fight Night Round 3, two RPG's, maybe a few more titles.

o Online: Out of the box functionality, similar to PS2 structure

o Will maintain all ports, losing the second HDMI is only a possibility.

o HDD coming three months after launch, sold in a 60GB-80GB package for $99.

PS3 will launch with a "demo reel" blu-ray disc included, which will include snippets of movies in HD, a few music videos perhaps, and some game clips, none of which are playable.

Those are my predictions at least :) No multiple colors btw, Silver or Black, white won't see the light of day in the US.

Then we basilcally agree :) 👍 , although imo Sony will release the PS3 before Xmas in EU, if they release it in May/June in Japan.
HDD 3 months after launch ? That would be a fault and I don't think that they will do that again. I'd say they release it right at the beginning, again pure speculation. It certainly depends on the role of the HDD : If Sony will use it the same/similar way as MS, then they have to release it immediately. If it is only used for a few special games like mmorpg's and such, you might be right.

Well, I've been looking at sony's plans with PSP and such, and I'm not too sure, but it's very possible it will come out at launch. But I do think if it does release, it will be hard to find (meaning shortages for it).

Just look at the 360, we still haven't seen the HDD in stores yet, lol. I'm wondering how long it's going to take them to release it.

That could still happen. Remember, the Sony official said they haven't yet decided which zone will get the PS3 first. But, it's a safe bet Japan will see it first. They also haven't yet decided if the PS3 will be a global, or semi-global launch. After seeing how terriable this went for MS with the 360, I doubt Sony will do the same.

The Japanese like numbers, so 06-06-06 might indeed be a hot bet. US in September and EU in Dezember...might come true like that :)

Well if a6m5 says 060606 is bad luck in Japan, than we can skip that date :)

Yeah thats true. 666 is the devil's number. Reminds me of a documentary i saw on tv a while back. This dudes car with a number plate ARK 666 or something like that, always had mysterious happenings going on like the car engine coming on by itself or sillohuetes of people inside the car in the garage when the owner clearly locked up the car and was about to head in to the house etc :crazy: - freaky stuff.
 
The PS3 could be nicknamed the Damien if it did come out then though.
 
Yeah lol, depending on which day it came out. If 06-06-06 then Damien!! If another day then we are going to have to see the significance of that number and make a name based upon that :D

:lol:👍 live4speed's got it. It's not a Japanese thing(in Japan, 4 & 13), but "666" is considered the number of the beast. I don't know the details.
 
I'm not really sure if 666 is necessarily sth bad in Japan, the cult concerning these numbers goes back to Christianity, doesn't it ? And if it is a bad number, the reason might be another one.... how about 04.05.06 then ;) ?

You might have a point there. Number does lead back, I belive to the Bible. If you were talking strictly just the Japanese release, then not many Japanese consumers will be bothered by it. Personally, I don't really belive in any superstitions, but a lot of Japanese people do. :D
 
666 Isn't a superstition, it's either a fact or myth, but theres nothing bad about living in house number 666 or a builduing having 666 stairs ect it doesn't mean something bad will happen to you. 666 Is just a number that represented the beat in the bible. But yeah, it might not mean half as much to people in Japan considering it's roots.
 
Is it true that the it going to be possible to connect 3 televisions (screens, beamers, ....) to one PS3???
This could be very interesting for surround gaming. You don't need 3 PS3, 3 GT copies etc... Only (still expensive) 3 tv's.

ok guys, i have a suggestion.

i went to Virgin Megastore,and asked when the PS3 will come in there shops, and they told me, middle of February. i was shoked when he told me that, and told him, that i know it will come like in april-may.....he told me NO, in middle of FEB.

is there anything true about that?? 👍

None whatsoever. There has been no official date stated by Sony at this time. They ONLY thing they've said, twice now, is SPRING 2006. That is Japan's Spring time which is a little later in the year than our Spring, but not by much.

There is no release date. Anbody, any company, that states so is only surmising.

Those guys can tell you everything, I was once told by a guy at gamestop that GT4 CAN BE PLAYED ONLINE after downloading something from tthe web...lol :crazy:
