Looks like the rumors that Toys'r'Us is going to offer preorders for the PS3 tomorrow for $50 may in fact be true:
Some of the stores are even saying how many they have available fr pre-order... and if these reports are correct, many of the people camping out who aren't near the front of the line are likely to leave empty handed.

Ha-ha! I love that pic. What? No wine? So uncivilized! It's gotta suck to be in upper-mid West state for times like these.

EDIT: I just called my local Toys R Us, located in the Ontario Mills Mall, and the lady said, "The store manager just did a final head count, and there were 47 people outside waiting, already." They expect a lot more to come around 6:AM, too. LOL!

She said they were only selling 7 pre-sale PS3s. But, the store were planning to sell Wiis and Tickle Me Elmos, too. LOL!

CRAP! I accidentally hit quote.

Here is a humorous little short film regarding camping out in line for the PS3... there is a nice payoff in the end regarding the scalper... 👍

Same here. I called the 3 TRS in Austin, and they each said they had people camping out as early as Friday, and had as many as ~50 in line at each location, but only 6 availabe at each store. Now some were also in line for the Wii pre-orders, and as a concellation prize I guess they could have bought a new tickle-me Elmo. ;)

I was on the preorder list at my local EB games, but since they only are getting 16 PS3s I'm out of luck.

Funny PS3 video, but when the launch day does come around, I wonder who will be on here saying about them missing out lol.

Didn't preorder? BB will have some stores open at midnight.

Hey, any word on whether walmart.com will be taking any PS3 online preorders like they did with the Nintendo Wii yesterday? I'm pretty sure the store won't be, but online preorders would work for me.

How are we to know? Nobody here works for WalMart.com. Their website shows nothing about the PS3 console, so I guess they wont be anytime soon. Plus, they don't have anything for the Wii console either, except for some hardware and software.

I'd be weary of ANY website that were excepting money for preorder PS3s.

Yeah i know they don't have anything for the Wii. They took preorders for them yesterday, sold out, and it said it was out of stock...so they took the ordering page off the website obviously. Sry that I asked...

Circuit City announce stores that will be open Midnight November 17th.

100 PS3 in each of those stores.... There will a large camping crowd there.

Play Asia
Price (60 GB model : ): US$ 999.00 (~793.25 EUR)

That is even more than I thought, but still : Told you so ! ( to those who didn't believe me that importing won't be cheap)

Add shipping (100$) + taxes (20%+ of the console incl shipping = 220$) then you are looking at nice and jucy 1300 $ (~1100 EUR )...ok you could also forget the EUR price since PA won't ship to EU, thanks Sony btw ;)

Did any of you get your email from Wal Mart? I didn't get mine yet, that's if I get one! Here's the deal...

Wal Mart had a clickable icon in their PS3 page on their website several weeks ago. If you clicked it, you would get an email with a link explaining how to pre-order a PS3. Well, I did mine about three weeks ago, and a few days later the icon was taken down. I guess they got enough people to notify.

So, these emails went out a hour ago, and I didn't get one. All the pre-sale PS3s are gone. Done. I called Wal Mart and they had sold all the pre-orders via the email link over the internet, and they're all gone. So, even if you get the email, which you shouldn't, it's pointless to respond since all the PS3s are gone.

Jipped again. First Best Buy, and now Wal Mart. Next up, is Sony Style. I bet I get jipped there, too. There update "icon" has been taken down for several days, now.

It doesn't look good for Solid Lifters. At least I tried.

I'll have to camp. GameStop screwed the pooch yet again. Even after Sony told them that it wasn't going to happen, that 16 consoles per store was far fetched...and they take it out on the employee's. I love it.

I read that yesterday. It's too bad. I was hoping to ask you some questions about storing movies, music and other files and seeing how much room they take up.

I even get jipped here. Damn Sony.

Oh, I'll still have mine, so feel free to ask away. We don't get a discount on consoles, so I have no reason to buy it at GameStop, they won't get my dollar. I will buy the games there, where I can rape them on a discount. And I also vow to buy only used games where I can stack my discounts and rob them of more money.

I'll have full in depth reviews once I pick up my console, hopefully early friday morning (like midnight / 1am).

I'm a victim of circumstance just as you are. I'm mentally preparing myself for the hopeful re-supply pre-Christmas. With a release this early, it only stands to reason by Christmas time we should be seeing a steady flow of hardware. Pure speculation on my part, but I'm hoping for the best in any case. It will be worth the wait so take solace in that. In looking back at the 360 launch, I was surprised to see as much availability 2-3 weeks after launch as there was, at least here in Podunk Montana..... :)

It would'nt surprise me if the same thing happens over here in the UK come March.
Though too early for pre-ordering as such I have my email address at several online sites. Chances are though that even if I get an email saying pre-order now I won't get lucky. Really it depends on the amount of PS3's being launched here. 70,000 360's were launched last December and they went in fast. A launch of 90,000+ PS3's could be enough but it really is a wait and see deal.
Hopefully Sony will keep them coming and not make the mistake Microsoft did and have the supply dry up for a few months.

Well, GameStop has to take the lesser of two evils: piss off their employees, or really piss off the people who camped out in front of their store for a day to get a PS3 preorder, and to find out that it can't be fulfilled because an employee who didn't have to camp and get first dibs got theirs.

If only in a perfect world, there'd be enough to go around...

I preordered from Sony Store back in June, 6th on the list, but the store is only getting 2...👎

Sony Store, which I guess you mean Sony Style, never pre-sold a single PS3. When they say, "We still don't know how many PS3s we're getting," it's all a bunch of crap,. They know; they just can't tell anybody. I know, I've been in contact with a manager that works for the online Sony Style store. She wont say for sure what's going to happen to even me, and neither will the employee's because they were told NOT TO.

But, she said this to me, "It doesn't look good. Sony had horrible amounts shipped to the US, and nearly all of it went to the stores."

They only way to get one from Sony Style is if you clicked on the "update" icon and filled out the details to be notified when the PS3 arrives. They'll send an email out to you with a private link that will fill out a PS3 order for you. Then, when the employees come in the morning, they will fill those internet orders. A lot of temps have already been hired to answer phones for Sony Style to inform people they have no PS3s for sale.

Again, it looks like the ONLY way to get a PS3 is to camp out.

I live in Canada, and there is an actual official chain of stores called "The Sony Store." They accepted my preorder back in June, along with 9 others. They only accepted 10. --- http://www.thesonystore.ca/

Can't believe they can't fill that...10 PS3s in an official store. Shouldn't they try to keep their own customers happy? I mean, when we get angry, we don't just get angry at the store (say if I preorder from EB), but the brand because, that's the first-party store itself.

I'm gonna start camping at Best Buy this evening after work. It's gonna be hella cold and windy 👍

Today I got a confirmation of amazon that Sony will ship the PS3 on Friday 23rd in Europe ( Germany at least ;) ), 55 days to go...
I preorderd in July and get a PS3 on launch, guaranteed...

Edit : Oh, talking abour March 23rd of course ;)
