No-one said PSN was perfect. Your ping was over 400, your lag was all on your connection and it was perfectly fine for everyone else. PSN had nothing to do with it, especially considering Project CARS on PS4 uses P2P connection for online races so all the leg work is being done by the host and client ISP's, not Sony. Most cases on that site are down to the users internet/stupidity anyway due to it mainly being for log in issues.

Give your modem and router a restart, make sure no torrents etc are running and do a speed test, that should resolve your ping issues. Failing that, it's probably your ISP/location/cable quality.

Yet again, like i told you in the moment in PSN, i can tell you again that my internet was fine, i restarted my router before playing and after disconnecting in race 1, i did 3 or 4 speed tests and it was fine, also, i had turned my mobile phone off before playing just in case. Nothing else was using my connection, only my PS4 via 'hardwired'.

I was sorry for you, but relieved for all the other drivers mate... I was closing on you at a point, but then i had to slow down until i was between 3-5 seconds... I'll post a vid to show how mightly impressive it was :D

As others said, restart router, make sure you have no other pc on, no cellphones or tablets connected to wi-fi and all of them even if being idle for devices when connected to internet even if idle may get updates or do their own things :D

Lastly ask them to switch your connection to "FAST"... I had to pay an extra here for that, but i have improved my internet gaming quite a bit

Read above about my internet, and no you wasn't catching me, i was steadily pulling away from you, the gap was 7.6 seconds when i disconnected. ....It's Silverstone revisited........ Obviously if you post a video of me lagging AGAIN then you haven't used your head and thought like i asked people on page 51, you try to be, and think you're funny, but you're not, you're just irritating. Before the race you was complaining about racing on Brands GP, but after getting 2 decent results your opinion has almost changed. Good luck at Bathurst, you'll need it methinks! You're like an alabama hot pocket and them some, full of it!

Take some pills to call down.

Did you read anything I wrote at all?

I still consider brands a bad track I just stated that the drivers were really good managing around it.

Also as I said I had to stay 3-5 seconds behind to avoid lag crashes but didn't blame you on that.

Lastly I just told you how to deal with you internet provider... Is that a bad thing!?

What is wrong with you? If you are pissed about your connection and race fo not put blame on me.

I don't like pills.

I read everything yes, with a sarcastic :D at the end of each line.

But you was more than 3-5 behind me for the first 10 laps before i disconnected so your information isn't correct.

My internet, and it's provider is fine, as i have said here 2 or 3 times here already, and bofore you posted you're reply. So it wasn't necesary to mention my internet yet again.

I'm pissed with you, as you always have smart arsed comments to make with a :D at the end. You're ego is quite big, but i don't know why. Like i said you try to be funny but in reality you're not. I had this with you after the Silverstone races, with sarcastic remarks with :D :D. It's only a game and as i said last night 'Use your heads and think' to all here before uploading videos of people lagging, But you said in you're reply to me that this is what you're going to do later so i can see how 'impressive' it was. You see my point?

I hope so.

Sorry again to all for the issues.

I said I would post a vid about it since you do not seem to understand what the situation was.

Also I'm clueless as to why I keep trying to help you with your net issues, but you can be sure it is not ok I you ping 400 to ALL.

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic and you can ask all I'm not full of myself my ego big is really funny you can ask skaanky, oz svrn and all others.

Try to learn some Italian and see if your communication will be as smooth as mine.

Still did you call your provider to be switched to FAST answer? Usually connections never are setted like that by default. Did you try to give Ps4 a fixed up and put it in the router DMZ? Have you checked you mtu value? If wrong you can get packet loss and innatural high ping...

And these are just a few things you can try. I think all drivers had to work on their connections and call their providers to improve their internet gaming.

As you see I try to help. Have tried any of these?

Of course i know what the situation was, i had bad lag, i knew that in the moment, that's why i didn't do race 2. That's why i'm pissed at you as you don't have to upload a video of me lagging as i already know it! That's why i put the 'use your head and think' comment in my first post last night, that you 'liked'.

Thanks, but i didn't ask for your opinion or help about my internet, although i knew that you would make comments here about it, as you always do have something to say.

My internet is set to 'fast', yes i did all that you have suggested months ago. It seems my connection is particularly bad on Sundays when i race in this championship. I know that i have a little lag on occasions but nothing as extreme as in the race yesterday. I will investigate again this week when i have time.

So you understand: Il mio Internet è impostato sì ho fatto tutto quello che hai suggerito di digiunare. Sembra che la mia connessione è particolarmente grave la domenica quando corro in questo campionato. So che ho un po 'di ritardo nelle occasioni ma niente di così estremo come nella gara di ieri. Io indagare di nuovo questa settimana, quando ho tempo.

I don't have to learn some Italian, you could just learn better English!! Aunque podemos hablar en Español si prefieres mi amigo? Soy fluido! Gracias!

That internet translation attempt is hilarious :D

It translated fast as digiuno instead of veloce, lag as ritardo etc etc but still I prefer to write and make mistake on my own instead of using an internet translation.

Not sure what you wished to remark with that since I almost all weeks post race videos and I do not think I can cut out 10 laps just to make you feel better.

Not even mad, just found it hilarious

OK I want to add a few of my thoughts here on race two in what I have experienced from playing PCars. First race last night Skaanky, Myself and Rex three way battle for the entire race Razor even commentated on what a great race between us separated by 1 to 2 sec's. Now the reason I mentioned race 1 was there was no lag issues.

Moving on. Since Brno when i didn't realize my internet was having problems that weekend now I always test my speed before each race. My speed was perfect and ping 25 to Cardiff (Skaanky)on race two. In race two Razor posted video you see myself and Skaanky going through Razor and Skaanky hitting the wall on the inside and then disappears the room host, Skaanky speed I believe is 60 to 80mbps. In race one when we had no problems everything went smooth I believe the disconnection's and drop outs in race one contributed to the lag spikes and the terrible rubber-banding I saw early on in race two.

I'm only going with my gut here in what I experienced with PCars when I saw the Christmas lights I new there was trouble with the room. In future when we retire or stop in a race. Pull over to the side of track. No pressing retire to pits or lobby it causes problems even if you start a new round you are still connected to the person hosting. Disconnections can not be helped. The room was not running right from the lights on my screen.

There will always be some lag over the internet its not faster than light we are trying to minimize it I'm also talking to room two on this issue. So reset your router before each race then check your speed to room host (Skaanky 'UK' or Mckiernan 'Ireland')

There is plenty of Practice sessions going on every night of the week and people hosting these are they same people hosting on Sundays. Join these rooms only for 1 hour of your time to see your connection to that host is like on Track and to see your ping above your car not some colored coded bar which tells you very little. I wish they would change that to ping in lobby.

I fought with McGerty pretty much the whole race 1 and there was no lag what so ever.

Then on lap 2 in the 2nd race I noticed McGerty starting to skip around just a tiny bit in a few consecutive corners, but it was so little there was no danger in racing him, until his car suddenly went into rocket mode and blasted backwards thru my car.

I don't know why it happened or how to prevent similar things but when I "compete" in racing series or FPS tournaments I always make sure to have nothing else going in the house except for my ps4.
As McGerty said it must have to do with other things than his own connection as I have raced against him for many races now without any problems.

Edit: Can I just say though, how incredible clean the first corners(lap) have been in room 1 in the last 2-3-4 races. At least I haven't seen any incidents except for the occasional lag doing some damage like in Razor's case.

This ^^^ Retiring to pits should never be used. These lag issues are an unfortunate side effect of how internet gaming is set up. We can do what we can to minimise this by setting a static ip adress for your PS4 & setting it to DMZ (see here: http://community.eu.playstation.com...-put-your-PS3-or-PS4-into-a-DMZ/td-p/10655314 & here: http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/PS4/ ) Also resetting your router, hardwiring your PS4 to your router & making sure there are as few devices using your internet as possible. These things can help but they aren't a silver bullet, some of these problems will happen no matter what steps we take to make it better.

This post is not directed at anyone in particular, it's more aimed at trying to help everyone try to understand what we can do to lessen these frustrations. PCARS is a game and this competition is a hell of a lot of fun, unfortunately when something happens that costs someone a possible race win & a good haul of points people get understandably pissed off but can we please avoid getting tetchy with each other. We're all here for the same reason afterall, to have fun racing competitively with others.

With regards to room two, maybe we can try having a different host to see if that improves anything.

Race results, standing and next race weather etc.

Currently there have been a few drop outs and we also have a handful of guys with wheel issues, meaning the field is slightly depleated. If people know of a few good clean drivers to join for the remainder of the season and maybe even next season, point them in this direction!

Here are the results below.

Yeah the first corner was great, it was after you spun then came onto the track and hit me. You decided that you didn't wanna wait for 4 cars to pass :) You were clearly quicker but compromised 2 races instead of 1 :( I suppose theres always next week xD. Seen your vid on page before appreciate the apology I didn't realise you bounced around as much before you hit me 'a passenger' is a perfect qoute lol

What does the red in the championship standings mean?

What does the red in the championship standings mean?

Droppped scores. Racers are allowed two dropped rounds and due to some miss communication by me for one of the F1 race late starts and a few people missing the 1st race, I have added a single race drop too. So two whole rounds and an additional next lowest race are removed. I will be implementing the 2nd round drop for Round 9 results onwards, in order to give people more of an idea where they are just by looking. Adding the two drops from the start was going to look a little crazy for the 1st few races.

Woah! Bathurst and rain! O_o this will be a hard test for me! :D

I remember someone mentioning it would be good to have some rain, we have got to round 8 before a spot! That is not bad going, you watch though, odds are now stacked up for wet races for the rest of the rounds now it had been mentioned lol.

How was I not a passenger? Full stop and full steering to the right to not get into the way for anyone, which didn't work anyway obviously. Had there not been grass then maybe.

What 4 cars? I was 5th or 6th when the accident happened. Was passed by the 2 that was following and then there was no other cars to be seen.
Yes in hindsight I should have waited for you but I thought you would overtake my limping car nevertheless and with only 2 corners to the pits where I would have to stay for ages I thought you would be well ahead anyways.

I do apologize again but believe it or not, I'm not trying to take out other drivers with purpose.

Edit:
@Skaankypuppy It was me wishing for some rain races. Maybe not so much on a track I've never even seen before though. :scared:

Your internet was fine, yes. I'm sure we can both agree on that, however your connection was not. A ping of 400 wasn't fine even in the dial up days.

No-one is blaming you, it's admirable that you left for race 2 so as to not cause problems, but to say something is not a miss, is laughable. I know you don't want us to post videos of it, and we've refrained (though it'll be in my highlights just because of what else was happening at the time.) but if you keep getting super defensive and blaming it on everything other than what you've got, people are going to get fed up of it very quickly.

I dont have a dog in this fight but i think "twitch" and "streaming " IS NOT HeLPING the lag issues
I've never had an issue with it, but then again I've got 100mb internet and a ping of under 10ms usually. I can host a 16 player league race, stream it and watch a YouTube video at the same time and there's seldom any problems with people on modern connections that are working correctly.

Joy of joys, Bathurst next. I track I don't know very well, don't like at all and has a wet forcast. Oh and I'm in room 1. I may be giving next week a miss, lol.

I'm on the west coast easily the farthest person and I never lagged our had a problem with people in Europe. I guess that's just my benefit of being
108 msp **** yeah

Your connection although red or amber for me is never laggy at all.

BTW @BlownsmokOs, what's happening with your wheel warranty. Have you got further with it at all? We need you back on track fella, numbers are getting light.

Yeah I saw that only 9 showed up. I haven't called them yet not really in a hurry Tbh kinda like all the room I got on my desk now lol. I just don't know if I want a 300 or a 500 now. I call when I get a day off.

My race 1 "highlights"

worth watching to the end. Race 2 highlights are on upload, better than these ones but will take some time :D

What are you talking about? I know there was a problem with my internet, obviously so for have a ping of 400. I only said my up and down speeds were good, nothing else. I've spent all my free time during today trying to remedy a solution to the problem, so i don't know what your on about!

Like the other one here, i never asked for your help or opinion about my internet, and lag problem last night, and i'm not getting 'super defensive' or blaming it on 'everything other than what i've got'? You don't even know me, nor race against me on a day to day basis, so keep your opinions to yourself please, thanks.

Hammy You said yesterday that you was currently getting at the time "4mb and that ,that speed was sufficient" if that is your was download speed. PSN requires something like "4/6mb to be online" so that would just about let you browse the homepage.
I think that maybe you could consider another ISP, cause if your using a wired connection to your PS4 that just is not going to cut fella. Wish you the best dude and good luck :-)

I don't see how me knowing you is anyway relevant and whether you asked for our help or not is irrelevant too, your issues affected our race. Which kind of makes it our problem.

Case in point, your lag took me out (albeit not badly) early on. Did I complain about it? No. Have I sent footage to Skaanky about it? No. You are acting like an asshat when people are just trying to help you resolve the issue. If you don't want it, that's fine but don't be a dick about it because it's just going to turn the community against you.

I'm pretty much done with this conversation as it is. I have no beef with you on the track or off. If you want to carry on being a bellend, that's fine with me just don't except anything other than the same back.

Another one joins the party....I play Project CARS nearly every night of the week against people from the UK, Holland, The US, Ireland, and other places on occasion (i'm in Spain FYI) I understand that at times i have a little lag,. I am always in a party session with them too, therefore what you say isn't correct!

It's incredible to me how so many of you here have an opinion, and know what my internet provider and setup is, without actully seeing it...Just think if you boys spent less time here on GT Planet, and more time practicing, you might have actually beaten me in the 5 qualy sessions/races i've taken part in til now!
