Thnxie Viper Zero for the information. I first read about the photo mode in other magazines, but that time they werent sure how it worked. Now that you came along to post this up, you made me think how more special this photo mode can be! Wow it looks so fun! oOOooo *imagines 1000 of photo shoot outs with all her favorite cars* PD will really change racing games now with Photo mode in GT4. Not only do you just race and stare at your car in the garage, you can now take pictures of them and view them for you own veiwing pleasure like a BIG gallery room!

i hope you can save the pictures as files so that i can use them as my desktop background, or atleast print them at a printstore. getting a good printer just for this is too much for me, but id gladly take it to walmart or some place that has a digital print hut to use.

Maybe it's just me but... That's pretty much Photo Mode only in that article... Why not just throw it on the end of one of the established Photo Mode threads o_O It certainly doesn't tell us, nor show us, anything we haven't seen before.

This is exactly what I want. Who is going to waste all that money and time printing out 1000's of pics? If I can use the pics as backgrounds or slideshow screensavers on my PC, then I think I'll get some use out of it.👍

Can't say I'm particually bothered about it either. I might take a few pics of my favorites cars & thats it.

Then I'll sit down & wonder what else they could have done in the same time & laugh how people thought those early screenshots were properly ingame (as in when you get to drive). I'd have prefered reverse lights on cars, exhaust pops or simply more cars. Mmm more cars...

Mere eye candy that will have no relevance to the game...

I may take a couple of photo's of my top couple of cars, in the same vein I might change the alloys on a couple of my top cars...

Otherwise it'll be ignored pretty much!!

hmmm...I know for sure that maybe more than 50% of those 1000 pictures could be McLaren F1s... and the rest will be other cars I like such as Camaro SS, Supra, Skyline, Corvette and some others!

I like that idea too! the PHoto mode shouldnt just be used to take pictures and look at them. Make them more useful for others like PC use. I would also like to add something too. How about being able to use them as the background during the loading screens? How about using them for all the backgrounds such as menu screens, option screens, etc. You should also be able to set the background with your photos as always being that particular background if you want or let the game randomly use them when ever you jump from different sections of the menu.

Same here, I'm not phenomenally interested, if I ever see an ace moment during racing, something spectacular on the Nordschleife say, I might bother to screenshot it, otherwise, meh.

Newbie post alert!

I'm a photographer who loves cars, as is Mr. Yamauchi himself. The photo mode gives me a way to play with a virtual camera in the wonderful virtual world of GT4! How else would I ever get a chance to get that perfect shot of a RUF RGT or a Viper GTS-R moving at speed?

I can see how the time and energy that was obviously spent fleshing out Photo Mode into a major feature of the game will seem wasted to non-photogs but it's exactly what I want even though I didn't know it before!

To me, I seriously don't mind Photo Mode. I mean, I think Photo Mode will be innovative. I don't have a problem with it like I was talking about online play (Search for my thread on online play to know what problems I have with GT4 Online Racing).

So to me, Gran Turismo 4 will likely be a great game to appeal to many different people. I mean, some like drifting, some don't. Some like this new Photo Mode, some don't. Some like online play, some don't. Even if you don't like the modes mentioned, it would be nice to at least get into it. Photo Mode should be very fun. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but, could there possibly be a way to SHARE photos (I know this will require either different Memory Cards or online capabilities)?

It would be weird if there was a "create-a-character" mode in which you can stand next to your car and shoot photos. Or even better (or worse for some people), how about being able to come up with sexy photo shoots of your car? I know it won't happen, but I have this as a just-for-fun situation.

Say your prayers, Forza and Enthusia, and that popular XBOX racer... GT4 could become the best game in known space. It can be the new standard in which racing games should be judged on.

From what I have read in variuos places the files for the photos will be very small. I have read that online trading of photo's should be included. Perhaps that will help inspire you to get into the online portion of GT4. Imagine if they had some sort of online photo judging section, like a car show and if players could judge them. I think that there will be enough variety in photo mode where it will be fairly easy to make some unique photo's, espeically if we can paint the cars and hopefully have better wheel selection. Also I hope that while using replays and photo mode you can caputure all the race action in the photo's. That would be great for capturing the highlites of your favorite races. I hope that we can also save the replays from the online races, I truly see some of the best races being there, if they do it at least halfway right the online races will be intense.

I really can't believe some people are already righting off parts of GT4 before they have even tried them. Okay so taking pics of your car may not seem like the best way to spend a evening. Just think of it as a extra addition to your favourite racing game. By adding this mode, PD have shown once again how they are thinking about racing game in a totally different way to any other game maker. This says to me, that PD love cars, and they just want to make the best most in depth game they can, for us to enjoy.

I doubt in anyway, the addition of this mode will in anyway compromise the game/part of the game. If people don't like it (that might include me when I finally get a chance to try it out), then they will jsut spend their time playing the other parts of the game.

I can tell you now that I'm not interested in photography, but when I went to the British motorshow early this moth I took my mates digi-cam and it was great taking al thoes pics of cars (especially the TVR's and the enw Aston DB9), I'm still not interested in photography, but give me a camera and a car to take pics of and that changes. I'm a car nut through and through, I'm no car encyclopedia but I enjoy cars weather it's learning about them, driving one or taking photos of one and I am looking forward to trying this mode out. Even if it doesn't grip me I will still have fun with it.

Where is the time that GT1 was a no-nonsense racing game, which launched its success.

If it's to keep us busy with GT4 untill GT5 comes, there is a better way : make more updates.

I don't think we'll see GT5 until the PS3 arrives, so I expect that they really ARE trying to keep us busy until GT5 / PS3...

Btw.. Nice article, I can see myself goofing around in photo mode for quite a bit (Being a sucker for cameras and stuff )
