I just got a mail from lik-sang that my PSP is underway!

Who else is getting one for Christmas? :D And when is the PSP getting it's own subforum? :D

I read in the newspaper and it said that a lots of people was sleeping outside of shops. Crazy Japanese people ofcourse! :D I wont be getting it anyway , but I would love to ;)

I ordered mine aswell.I'm importing it.
The bad news is,
i hear that around 4% of the units sold is malfunctioning. That's around 8000 PSP's.Things like dead pixels, air bubbles under the display, startup problems,UMD player malfunctions and even analog buttons falling off.I hope they fix this,i don't want to eventually get my PSP only to realise it's broken and having to send it back all the way to Japan.

This is always a risk when you get the first batch. That said, some stuff out there are hoaxes. Someone showed me a vid of a UMD spontaneously ejecting during play, but he was obviously faking it and just pressing the eject button.

Wow, this is pretty amazing! If I read this right, I may have it already tomorrow. I can't believe it, that would be 5 days after it's japanese release ...

Obviously, I got Ridge Racer with it. ;) Though I must say Lumines is looking interesting (and addictive) and that might be the next game I order (along with MGS Acid obviously).

Will be keeping you posted. Still waiting for that PSP subforum. ;)

it's here! :D

it's true, the screen is unbelievable ... it's even bigger than you expect.

Oh and Ridge Racer has backfire ... ha ha ha

I saw a vid of ridge racer, looks incredible for a hand held! And yeah I noticed the back fire in the vid XD. Also seems to leave skid marks, EH EH EH PD ;)

Out of the box, the not charged battery lasted 3 hours. So that's completely in line with what IGN, lik-sang, etc. have been writing. i only just recharged it fully now

its so pretty and stuff like the mp3 player and image viewer (have to have converter software for vid) work so well, that i find myself hoping there will be business solutions available for it too ...

Pics pics pics pics pics pics now....Please. I know there are loads of demo pictures but can we have a picture comparing it in size to a DS2 pad or a game case..please.

Best of all! It's region-free.

But that only goes for games.
I got the Gran Turismo Edition one though. It's white.

One thing every game fan needs to do once in there life is sleep outside a shop for the next day to get there hands on a new console or handheld or the PSP.

Man I saw one today with the ridge racer game, from what I saw I was impressed. Although the shop were selling them for £400 something. :scared:

I know, but it's just came out and it's been imported so most stores that import brand new hardware like that overprice it.

But still, from what I saw of it dayum did it look good for a handheld. Although I don't think i'd buy it myself.

Why can't people be patient and wait for the resonably priced PSP to hit our shores? And having an import system means that you would to be forced to buy import games at import prices. It's a never ending con if you ask me.

I just search on Ebay.co.uk and there are several PSP Value Packs on sale for £350 "Buy it now". I agree with you demon of speed, it's crazy people buying these now for this kind of price, a few months wait and you'll pay 1/2 or less of the price. You won't be the kid everyone on the block envys for that long anyway.

Yeah, I never get why people go out and buy the import system right away for an exorbitant price. Although I think the PSP is multiregion like all the Gameboy systems are so no need to worry about importing games. Actually i'm pretty sure they had PSP games on the shelves at the shop but they also had a Japanese copy of GT for £1 and an American GT3 for a fiver so I was too busy buying those. Now I have a few too many different GT games.

One of my school friends bought the N64 on the release date in 97. It cost a hefty £250 and guess what, it's £150 2 months later. I did the clever thing and waited until it would drop in price. The moral of the story : Good things come to those who wait.

I'll be doing that for the PS3.

I'll wait till psp's cost £100, and the games are 20. I flat out refuse to pay anymore as I don't really view hand helds as "proper" consoles, just time killers on journeys etc. And yes, I'll wait :)
