Yeah It's me (I think). I like when best laps are write in bold (hope I did nothing wrong)...

check the change log.

btw I think you need to "publish" the times on the quali. Sheet 'cause I'm trying to check the sheet from my phone and it's coming up blank.

Did you need my email still btw? I didn't know if you still had it.

It's cool. I just only expected everyone to enter times not change the layout. ;)

If I see a room open up Friday early afternoon I'll jump in to qualify. I'm not happy with my times, but it is what it is at the moment.

Should be good now. 👍

I realized after I PM'd you I didn't need it. ;)

Took me a while to figure out that I have to go via the GDocs menu, not the link, to add times. :dunce:

Are the flags showing ok for everyone on the qualifying results sheet for Spa? They're being squished for me for some reason, even though in editing mode they look fine.

Looks fine on GDocs but are flattened via the link.

Yeah...not sure why it's doing that. :indiff:

Coming.

So, Adam, I was wondering if you would mind sharing your brake bias settings?

3 / 5. Might go one either way depending on front/rear tyre wear though.

Thanks! I figured you would be in the bottom 30s. I haven't been on the track since last Saturday and was only able to run high 31s. I have a pretty good idea where I am losing time but in your opinion, other than La Source, what corners/complexes do you think are the the most important to get right and/or the easiest in which to lose time?

Sorry for the questions. I'd really like to see one of your laps but we are never on at the same time so I can't observe and answer for myself. :)

Here's a track map for reference:

Well I've done a few 29s but dey for special timez. :dopey:

I'll go over a few places where I think some people lose time.

Take turn 5 as tight as you can, and take a later apex than you would for turn 6. It will set you up nicer for turn 7 and the straight (albeit a short one) down to Rivage.

Take Rivage as tight as you can without touching the rumble too much after the initial turn in point, but obviously if you can't time it right on the brakes, it's worth braking a little bit later, to diamond it slightly. Don't let your left set of wheels touch the green part of the kerbing to your left as you exit Rivage. Imo it compromises you for setting yourself up for turn 9. For turn 9 you right set of wheels should definitely be on the red+white rumbles to your right, or even the green bit, depending on the exit you got out of Rivage. Downshifting to 2nd (depending on your transmission obviously) might help you turn in a little better.

For Fagnes, turn in late, slowly getting closer to the rumblestrip as you go round it. Again try not touching the rumble. Don't turn into the left part of Fagnes too early nor too late. Try make your left set of wheels touch the green astro/rumble stuff on the inside of this kerb. Too early and your left wheel will touch the grass first. I do this bit in 2nd, changing up to 3rd on exit but depends on your trans...

For the bus stop, downshift to 1st as early as you can making it easier to turn in, take as much kerb for the first apex. Depending on your entry here, I carry on turning right and go 100% throttle and then off again, shifting my car right. I immediately then turn left which helps me turn in for the 2nd bit. Prioritise the exit here over entry, obviously. :) And stay right for the quickest route to the line *Martin Brundle Voice*.

So Les Combes, exit of Rivage/turn 9, Fagnes second part. :)

Man, I wish I could get there to watch you do Spa!

The problem is, if you have a graphic that is more tall than wide, it shrinks down in such a manner that it makes it really small.

All I read is 29s, 30s. Im in the 32s, high 31s(31.9). What am I doing wrong? :banghead: Will try to improve the car a bit on the afternoon.

@Adam - Thanks, again! My approach to Spa is pretty much spot on to your description. I feel like I never get the entry to Turn 9 correct and as a result I never feel comfortable getting back on the throttle as early as I know I should. I lose a lot on the run down to Pouhon and then I am a ginger on the brakes so I am losing big through that section.

Room closed good racing Bdub,Aderrrm not so sure about that Carra guy caused mayhem so he did  :p just kidding

I've been thinking, are you guys okay with the leader of the race becoming the "safety car" during caution periods, or do you actually want a safety car?

Boss we are ok with what you decide! Safety car would so awesome but I can see where it may be confusing as well it makes you stuck in the room waiting. That would get really boring after a week or two of races.

So I am ok with either way. Heck if you wanna try the safety car and it's to much hassle. Drop it.

Aren't you the safety car? It's better if it's you as you know the rules btter than all of us(you created them duh )

I was thinking about the reality of using a pace car, and it sounds problematic.

Someone has to park somewhere on the track all race and watch for messages saying caution, then race out and find the leader in less then a really long time, etc. So we need an extra car on track, and a spectator switching cars pretty often searching for wreckage.

We are all big, grown up boys so we shouldnt have many cautions :D

Speak for yourself. My wife cautions me all the time.

I don't mind being parked somewhere, the only problem I see is that someone has to be watching the race to inform of an issue. That's why I went with Wardez's idea of just having the leader of the race slow to the correct speed and they will act like they are following an invisible safety car. That way I can watch everything.

Just thought it would be cooler to actually have a pace car out front. (especially the GT-R with the flashing lights) I don't anticipate us having a lot of these safety car periods anyway, everyone here is usually really careful. (and will be more-so knowing there's heavy damage) I will not be calling out caution periods for every little incident, only major ones that may cause 1 or more drivers to have issues getting to pit road with heavy damage. (engine, etc) Or heavy rain...

Also, the safety car doesn't have to look for the leader. They just enter the track after the caution period has been announced, then it's up to the leader to find it. If the safety car is on track, and you are not the leader, you should pass it and keep going until you catch up to the leaders.

Well in what circumstance does 1 driver have problems getting back to pit road with heavy engine damage? And even then, they received heavy damage for a reason. Having a safety car will only bring him back in with the pack, and then you might aswell have just gone with light damage.
