Yeah I think the leader being the saftey car would work, but aslong as it doesn't get called unless there has been a major crash like at least 3 cars. Anything else should just be a message saying yellow flag in sector 2 or something if someone has damage and is struggling back to the pits.

The D2 practice race is at the same time as D1, not the normal D2 time? Is that right, or is the picture on the first page wrong?

I'll need to get mine done. Hopefully I can shake 2 seconds before then. Otherwise it's gonna be a sad attempt.

Will there be any phantom debris cautions? I like those helps bring the field back together and makes for more exciting racing. :lol:

If anyone needs to qualify, please set up a room within the next 20 minutes and I'll join in.

Also, if someone could watch me qualify for the RX-7 series afterwards, I'd appreciate that as well. 👍

Well, managed to get a low 1:32 for the first time ever and in a race. :confused:
 
Does track need to be changed weather version for qualifying, don't think it will make any difference but just checking.
 
Regarding the visible damage, I'd personally like it turned off as not only is it hideous and not very realistic in the first place, it increases the strain on the server slightly and the last thing needed is lag in a race with heavy damage.
 
That's what the pre-season race is for. If there's problems, we'll fix them before the first official race. Time will tell...

I'm okay with whatever you decide, but the thought of an actual safety car is pretty neat.

There's even an actual pace car or two available from the UCD, I even have one in my garage if I'm not mistaken. Might not meet the regs since it is based on a GT-R or AMG car, however.

I only imagine the safety car working with two people. One would park in the pits in the safety car, while the other would watch the race, cycling through the cars on the track. When an incident occurs, the 'watcher' would call out in chat with a message that would read something like, "Deploy SC - P1 @ Turn #nn.", then fix their camera on the leader and continue to guide the safety car until he picks up the leader.

All in all, it's pretty convoluted but would be really cool if we made it work.

^^^ That's how I had it set up initially. 14 drivers on track, 1 watching and 1 driving the safety car.
