I would like to get in on this but time is not on my side these days , plus i have no clue how to hybrid yet, never tried it :(

Alright, ive been thinkin long and hard about this, lemme know what you think.

I definently think a power/weight ratio limit should be imposed. I feel somthing like 2.000 would be more than sufficient, its low enough that we can have some fun, but it still keeps things from getting really crazy. I havent really done much testing w/ this yet but if someone else feels like it really should be higher, lemme know.

With a power/weight ratio limit imposed, I think we should be able to mix and match engines from different manufacturers into different cars *BUT WITHIN REALISTIC REASONING*. If you think it can be realistically done in real life, go for it, but you know damn well a V12 aston martin vanquish engine isnt gonna fit into a VW beetle, so dont even think about it. Even if you could, a p/w limit would keep you from doing anything crazy w/ it anyways. Also the drivetrain rule would help keep this civil. Im sure if you REALLY wanted to you could drop an RX7 engine into your civic, but if you have to keep that civic FWD, its still gonna drive like ass. I just think engine swaps ONLY should be allowed to be cross-manufacturer. All other parts should still remain within the confines of the same manufacturer.

Anyways, those are my thoughts, feel free to pick em apart, let me know what you like/dont like/hate and we'll see what we can come up w/.
 
iwill join for sure, thanks miata it sounds great. but famine is awesome at raing and hybrids so it will be extremly difficult:(
 
ooh yes finally got to answering in this thread and im in! why not ive got nothing to lose and i havent hybrided for a while i think the last one i made i was trying to beat 1200kph :D just for the hell of it! ive made hildbrid b4 but never based on an actul car so this could be quite good!:)
 
Coolness Bondy, I am psyched about this race, or races depending on how much everyone likes the first race :D.

The amount of people that have replied to this race, have totally surpassed what I orignally thought. I am working out the plans for the first race, go ahead and PM or IM me if any questions, comments, cars, etc. :D

Ok, I got the first car PMed to me and reviewing it shortly. It looks like things are starting to get together. If anyone knows anyone else that would like to join, get them in here :D
 
You know what car im using right Miata? If not i can PM you all the details again. I made a different one that puts this one to shame...but i think i'll use my original one first and see how well that fares against the others

IDAFC, I know you drive a fast car buddy, can't wait for this to begin.

I will also give a little update on what I have, I have three cars currently and three different drivetrains. I learned an important lesson about Mitsubishis too :D. I plan on having three cars to race with with different drivetrains, I have fulfilled MR, AWD and FR. I plan on also covering the FF.

The faster we get the cars, the faster we can get going.

I also thought of another idea here. you can go ahead and modify your cars between races as you see fit, they just need to be approved. does that sound good ???
 
hmm, modifying the cars inbetween races...sounds interesting enough. As for my car, i hope it'll be fast...i did make a faster one (in fact im surprised at how fast it was) but i still wanna stick w/ my original car for now, just cuz i feel like its more of a true "hybrid"
 
before i hit mks, there is no longer a need for the car to have been previously created in real life right?

I'm dead keen, ill have a car in for verification tonight (within 8hrs or so) if i can be sure of the answer to my q!
 
it doesnt HAVE to be a car thats been created in real life...just as long as it follows the guidelines Miata set on the first page it should be all good...just make sure your power/weight ratio doesnt go below a 2.000

It is kinda restrictive, but thats the point. hehe...its probably the best way to regulate a fair race (tho its still not perfect) but its a lot better than just a flat HP limit, cuz a car that weighs 500kg and has 500hp will have a much more distinct advantage over a car that weighs 1200kg w/ 500hp
 
I've got two or three brewing. One is a straight clone of the Blitz R348 Skyline - which happily looks like a negative of the Nismo R-tune in the game (one of my favourite bodies). I've had a go at building a GpB "concept" car too, but I'm not sure what I should place the power at - the competition power varied from 350-650hp and some of the street homologation cars (like my avatar) happily threw 850hp onto the road.

mobilechicane - your gears have no values... I don't know if this is intentional or not.

tm2003 - nice choice of colour :D You might like to add some downforce though. Plus I'm not exactly sure what you've done to the TCS/ASM part lines (216-228) - I'd suggest making them:

I think "reasonable" DF is in the rules - 1.00/1.50. Max DF can unbalance the car on faster circuits anyway, as it's the same front & rear.
 
Oh, and some race rubber would be a good idea :D

BTW in order to make my Group B rally car (it's obviously the Clio V6 BTW), I had to pull a 4WD/VCD drivetrain off a non-Renault car, and the appropriate Limited Slip Diff (running a RWD only LSD on a 4WD drivetrain is interesting...). I'm hoping this is okay - despite the "Swapped parts in general must remain with the same manufacturer". I can't think of any possible advantage - other than the ability to HAVE a drivetrain swap - but I can scratch the car if you'd like. I can still kill with the Blitz R348 :D

10. Downforce goes up to Front of 1.00 and Rear 1.25 nothing higher. If you want lower go ahead

Just didn't want any mis quoting going on. . . BTW, how many cars you got from people, I need to know when everyone has their cars in to post mine. . . I know of 3 that I have recieved.

I think by the time I get all cars in it will be mid to late month so. . . looking at the end of this month to start up. I am unsure what thread to put this under though. I would like a long series, but I won't know until after the first round how long this will go.
