That's not necessarily true either. The Honda Ridgeline isn't really a ute.

I'd like to meet the idiot whose idea it was to put the spare in the in-bed trunk, much less have an in-bed trunk that's under the load floor!
 
It would only be bad ass if they lifted it and put on some larger tires. The way they have it with the chrome 18's(?) and lowered makes it just as bad as the bosoku cars from Japan, with their largely exagerated parts.
 
A ute is a car with a pickup bed, simple as that.

It's not painted plaid. It's wrapped in plaid paper. If you look close, you can see the edges are not perfectly round, like paper folded over. Definitely questionable, but not as if it was painted.
