is it true that everytime u want to shift gears using the h pattern that u have to press in the triangle button before the clutch can be enaged

NO :-) you have to press the TRIANGLE button at the START or DURING each race to activate the clutch (you only have to press the button ONCE). Some of the cars are born with F1 gear so they only have auto clutch. Hope this helps :-)

How well the G25 is built? I have a MOMO and after some time it started to feel very astray and broken like in the center, like something was interfering there, it was bad to know because I never was very brutal with it.
It started to get irritating so I disassembled it and guess what, the screws that keep the FF motor in place went loose, so I had to twist them back in and then glue them up, after that the wheel felt like new and till today is great.

The built quality is great!! but I have only had the wheel for 2 months now so I don't know if there will be any issues in the future :) but for now, no problems :)

From what I've read it's very solid. I've got a DFP and that wheel has taken some real abuse, as have the pedals, for quite a few years, and it's never given me any problems.

People have had trouble with the DFP pedals, and this is a particular area that Logitech have put a lot of engineering into, the G25 pedals are designed specifically to make sure any travel in the pedals is in the right direction so the pots don't get forced around etc.

On top of that it's made from some pretty solid materials, so overall I believe it's a pretty solidly engineered product.

This is just based on reviews and forum comments, mine is arriving Tuesday / Wednesday next week, but I'm fairly confident it'll perform :)

Do you have to use the clutch to shift for cars with manual? Gotta match revs for the downshifts?

And as long as we're talking about wheels and GT5, can anybody tell me if you can feel the front of the car lose grip with the steering wheel? Like does it get light when the front starts plowing?

Yes you can feel the car losing grip if you go into a corner to hot the force feedback goes very light.

Hi, I bought my european GT5P today and I got my cockpit updated to use the G25 wheel, but I can't use the clutch. I didn't understand this post well. Where is the triangle button? :dopey: Right now, I use the H-shifter without needing to use the clutch to shift gears. Any help?

The top black round button on the shifter console is the triangle button, you only need to press it once at the start of each race/time trial to activate the clutch.
Also make sure your in a car that supports the clutch, some dont.

Thanks, I think I tried that with my first car (the Integra Type R) but it probably doesn't support the clutch (does this mean the car has no clutch in real life?).

I'll try with my other cars when the latest update finishes transfering. I know it's for the good of the game, but I hate it when I happily turn on the PS3 just to see a message telling me I'll have to wait a (long) while to allow updating, and only after that I can play :ouch:

I have a G25 with over a year and a half and it has never given me a days grief. The wheel has always been 100% reliable.

I played the japanese version of GT5:P with my G25 for the first time today and I loved it once I switched to the paddles for gears.

I have a driving force pro i bought like 4 years ago.

I can't drift with it cause you cant "spin" the wheel if you understand.

Is there something in the settings i need to change and is the G25 gonna be the same way?

CMir: The Integra Type R DOES support the CLUTCH!! :)

Well then I'll also try that one again. Should I press the button when I'm already driving, or at the pre-race menu? When I tried for the first time I did it during the race.

By the way, this probably isn't the place to ask this, but the update I was trying to do stopped, I had to turn the PS3 off, did it happen to anyone else?

Edit: I just finished a session of playing, and I managed to activate the clutch. Thank you all who helped!

Yeap, I had a few attempts to download that last night - no way.
I had a short sleep, woke up early, set on download - voila - I have downloaded and installed that.
Gran Turismo 5 Prologe Spec II.

btw you can remap your G25 (using DFP settings) with Live adjustments.
