Just. Go. Away.
Bruh, I'm only moving there because there's tons of templates already made for people to use and it should make videos higher quality because of the lower polycount models compared to the Cup2000 & DMRNNS mods

Still, go away. My territory. MINE!

Well, if we're going there I did technically have a series with it first, but the spreadsheet I was running it on corrupted so it got abandoned

Says the guy who still has a series to finish after abandoning it last month.

I have a busy life right now... Working 8AM-5PM and studying 7PM-11PM... I only have weekends now, so the series was going to get on a big hold. Besides, I told everybody that.

For real though, I can switch the the MCLM mod if you want me to, I'd be fine with doing so

Nah, I'm joking man, we can both be with the Original Cup Mod. Besides, my series is so specific it doesn't really matter.

Alright just making sure because I remembered that there was a bunch of templates out for that mod as well so I could use it

Season 3 info
  • Cars will be on the original cup mod
  • Shorter schedule (Probably down to 15)
  • No multi user teams
  • Each user will register 4 cars (Rookie, Pro, All-Star & Legend class) and be responsible for sourcing the paint scheme for them
  • The paints must look the same across all 4 cars, excluding the differing numbers, paint schemes have no restriction besides the Roof is a solid color with your number in black showing your cars class (The colors for the roof are TBD)
  • All that is required when you sign up is declaring your names and numbers, everything else is open to you
  • When you sign up, you can decide to have strong and weak points (The split being 2 weak points for every strong point with a limit being 4 strong points maximum), you can choose any of the 11 ratings in game or your lottery entries as a strong or weak point.
  • A strong point gives you the maximum every week in that field, a weak point gives you the minimum every week in that field, otherwise it is neutral (For example a Legend strong point is 100/100, a legend weak point is 76/76 and a neutral is 76/100)
  • Legend class is locked into the A-Race, All-Star Pro & Rookie are entered into a weighted lottery to determine who will be in the A race and who will be in the B race.
  • Races are capped at both a minimum and maximum of 40 users
  • Should more than 20 users register, there will be cars that don't race in a round
  • Should 30 users register, a C race will be run and Legends will no longer be locked into the A race, should 40 register a D race will be run and so on (I don't expect to need a C race, but I will be pleasantly surprised)
  • There will be both a driver/car/# championship and a team/user championship
  • Winning a B/C/D/... race locks you into the A race the next round, but winning a B race is only worth last in an A race, winning a C is only worth last in a B and so on
Season 3 is a ways away, but I'd like to lock this stuff in now

Y'ALL STAHP TAKING MAH IDEAS, DAMMIT!

Sorry, this is pretty much what my series has been leading up to in terms of ideas, I've just been slowly implementing them between the different iterations of B-Spec series I've been running

There is one thing that ***MAY*** make it better. Are you gonna have each class run a separate model (I.E. Dodge=Rookie; Pontiac=Pro; etc.)?

I hadn't thought of that, that's a great idea though. If you're fine with me using that then I'd really like to. However it might look weird with open manufacturers if there's Chevy Monte Carlo's on a Ford body

I think for that system it would be the easiest way to tell them apart.

You want quick templates?

Nah, season 3's a long ways away, no need to make stuff now for a series that most likely won't start until July at the absolute earliest

K....I still have some made anyway.

That's fine, I just don't want you or anyone else to do anything for this yet as we still have a second season to focus on. What I've posted is all the planning that has gone into Season 3. Speaking of this season, tomorrow will be 1/3rd of the time available for those to make and submit custom paint schemes, I will tag those that haven't submitted one to let them know they have 4 weeks left.

I have to ask, how many people have actually watched the whole thing?

Does the three times I watched the race when I recorded it count?

Texas World will be uploaded in the morning.

Race will go public at 1 (25 minutes from now), 46 minute video

46 minutes? That's rather short for any of your B-Spec races, is the race distance that short or were us drivers just too faste?

Man, feels like yesterday the first race was up...
"Oy, Slate-Blue-ish... ...Pontiac? i know that there was a crash next to us and all, but no need to ram even a little! ...Oh, and R.I.P. those others."
"Where'd the leading cars drive off to? Seriously feels like there are three small races going on at once, instead of just one big one..."
"Oh my... ...Good thing i wasn't one or two places behind."
"Hey, two pink cars behind me in the pit, can't you tell apart your color from the other's color? ...That's okay, i occasionally have the same problem with Dan."
"Huh, my place appears to have been divided by a half compared to the last race, i could possibly settle for this and consider that a success"

Also, at this point, i doubt that even a crash would stop that ferocious #179 Ford, and if it attempted to, chances are, a nuclear crash would happen near the end of a race and thus make the Ford win anyway.
And FYI, i do watch the entire race... ...But at 2x speed.

We have six weeks to get 7 races out, at this point it's week 3 and we're 2 races in , it'll slow down soon though

Well, as I continue my viewing of them Texas racin' (started viewing the race during the last class at University, but I had to stop as the class ended, because obviously ), I will say this; I like this new "highlight replay" system. Other than the Windows Movie Maker-tastic transitions (I know, and yes, I can't do better myself, but I just had to point that out), it's a nice way to see the crashes that happened off-camera without having to see the whole "go back in time in replay mode" process unfold as your recording goes along.

Also, this may be just my OCD and somewhat poor eyesight speaking, but I still think that cars could benefit from having side numbers as well as roof ones. It can be a pain sometimes trying to ID these cars when the camera, the video resolution and track lighting all try their dammnest to blur the names out...

The good thing about uploading is that you can bang out a lot of races in short times without having to rely on viewing times and schedules :dopey:

Unfortunately, I can't really edit the cars without grinding the series to a standstill again , @tbwhhs maybe having open the menu that shows the name and number of the driver as well as the pause and play buttons all the time could work to make it so people could tell which car is on screen

Yes, that's too much hassle for something that very few have probably given thoughts about. Having the replay's "video button" tabs would work, but then you'd be covering the standings one up so that's no good either.

As for the race, having seen it all, I can say this without spoiling too much; the 4-way battle for the lead was a good one to watch. 👍

Standings actually get moved down by the bars, so that wouldn't be an issue.

Before the racing here was faster and a pack, but too many crashes, so I toned it down to what went into the video. I think this is a good balance of racing and having most people make it to the end

Oh really? Must've missed that one, thanks for clarifying. Either way, having the bars pop up all the time may be deemed too intrusive by others, but I can't assume that 100% really.

I'd say the balance is nice yes; you still have your crash moments and caution periods, but drivers are not Maldonado-agressive and try to barge their way through all the time. Toning agression down more would probably lead to one driver edging out the rest of the pack by eons, because people got too squeamish regarding racetrack positions...

I'm not sure if @tbwhhs and his magical transitions showed it or not, but I know in game for me at least that's what happens

Texas itself is a higher speed race than Texas World, they are more aggressive than this race but still manageably racey

I might need to go back and check at some point, but I'm sure tb knows what he's doing. Otherwise you wouldn't have hired for this now would you?

So the bigger Texas oval provides bigger and more agressive racing than Texas World, eh? Just like in real life, bigger things in Texas are just better, it's the Texas way!
