Shall we all try racing Golf IV TCs around Madrid Full? Makes for some great racing!

Trying some GT3s of my own- Aston Martin, maybe Lamborghini.

There are several exceptions to the rule:

  • If your name is JP Oliveira, a shoulder barge is nothing.
  • If your name is JP Oliveira, rear-ending someone and then not even bothering to overtake is nothing.
  • If your name is JP Oliveira, always nail round a car that is considerably slower.
  • If you're in a 458, always aim for the P1s.
  • If your name is Vadim Kogay, aim for the gravel traps. Always. Always.
Jokes aside, great videos on multi-class passing. However, with GTs, I think some people make it out to be far more gentlemanly than it actually can and should be. I get that being relaxed on contact just leads to people pushing the boundaries of acceptability, but I don't want people getting into hissy fits when they get a bit of a knock or rub, or people getting penalised for doing such things. Having grown up around a lot of different GT categories, some are noticeably more strict than others, but little tags are part and parcel of it.

Don't take this the wrong way, leave the Gio stuff for full blown touring cars, but avoid unrealistic standards.

It's really a matter of opinion, in my opinion. Some forms of GT class racing call for contact while others don't. Especially with endurance racing, I don't think contact is acceptable. While it may or may not be dirty, or against the rules, I don't see the point in moving someone out of the way. A fundamental of sports car racing to me is being able to pass without contact and essentially out-smarting the other driver, not to mention just being all-round faster than them. Sprint racing and "touring car" style racing like DTM or the PWC is a different story. Given the short amount of race time it's acceptable to an extent to bump people off line who are slower etc. etc. However, again, in my opinion, anything more than a nudge is too much. If you want to push people around please go race some form of touring cars and get out of GT racing.

Slower classes: Hold your line when a faster car is about to pass you.
Faster classes: Be patient. the slower cars are also running a race and are not obstacles.

That and some common sense of good quality, and we should be good to go.
 
Is there gonna be a room tonight? The thread seems to be a little quiet. Or probably its because I got out of school early.
